This place never changes, I was left with little choice when booking 5 rooms here last week. Two of the rooms had the last residents food in the fridge which was disgusting and the stench from the fridge was awful. The bathroom towels were filthy and marked. The floor was wet outside the bathroom and the room was for a disabled guest. No bath! I spent a fortune here for 5 rooms as you can imagine. Very disappointing. On the plus side the executive lounge is nice and the food was good.

The hotel is massive (1000 rooms) - seems chaotic, most staff are disinterested, majority of rooms and corridors seem like a relic from the early 90's and really tired - especially for the price. Some rooms have been refurbished, so reflect the early 00's. Staying with large group of people 50% of whose rooms air-con did not work. The computer system went down so people waited until past midnight to check in - we were offered a free drink as compensation - but I was told it had to be whiskey or ... Read more

I booked this hotel through Last minute.com it was their mystery hotel package. We arrive at mid day as we had theatre tickets for 3pm so wanted to see if we could check in early. We were greeted by a very friendly member of the reservation team and they said our room was ready so we could check in. I was very impressed. The room was a nice size and comfortable. This hotel is a great option for a weekend stay and I would definitely go back.

We spent 2 nights here in early June in connection with a Bruce Springsteen concert. The location is fine - in walking distance to the main shopping streets (Oxford, New Bond), but there nothing to elevate the experience to above average. Examples: It's a rather typical run-down-chipped-paint-everywhere British hotel. During our stay the pool was continuously occupied by very loud kids. I had to call "Magic" twice to get an adapater. The ice machine I was sent to was broken. The carpet in our su... Read more

We were on the 6th floor. At breakfast one of the waitresses called Juliet gave me excellent customer service and deserves a special mention, she could not do enough for us. I wanted to book a London Hotel for last Saturday, the Metropole seemed to tick the boxes for convenient location and price seemed ok. I called reservations and got their American call centre, after repeating myself a few times the lady on the other end of the phone convinced me to book a King Size Double room on a B&B deal at a non cancelable / non refundable rate, assuring me this was the very cheapest deal available. I agreed and booked. At the end of the call she said she was putting me... Read more

If you're reading this review and thinking about the hotel the answer is go ahead and book it. Ultimately you'll have a pleasant stay and enjoy it and its location. With that said, UK hotels can be a bit of a mixed bag. Sometimes you find tiny rooms, sometimes you find things that are quintessentially British. In this case the hotel is pretty standard fare. It's not quaint, it's not historic, it's just clean and reliable. To me that made for an overall good business stay. In my case it was t... Read more

Wall paper peeling off, elevators ricketty, carpets smelly.....we got a executive room with lounge---there was no free water in the room which is incredible. airconditioning is antiquated (temperature controls are from the 90's) and would be acceptable 20 years ago---but not in 2016. A hidden gem- maybe even from the staff is the whiskey bar. But don't come too late unless you are a guest or they won't serve you- weird. Rooms are nice and the place is always hopping especially on weekend nights. Food at the upstairs restaurant was really quite nice also. So a generally good place to stay. If only they could figure how to take better advantage of their bar!

For a Hilton and the price, this hotel is lacking. I had what i believe was a renovated room in the tower and it was fine in that respect-- updated, in reasonably good condition. Soundproofing is terrible, heard every door slam and person walk by. Cheapest toilet paper like you'd expect in a roadside gas station. Bed was comfortable, good pillows. AC didn't work. Oh, and a staff member inexplicably knocked on my door and wo ke me up at 8am. Would not recommend given the price.

We stayed for two nights as we were going to Wimbledon. This was an excellent location as we were able to get a tube rom Edgeware Road direct to Wimbledon. Have stayed at this Hotel many times before and will do so again, as it is a very convenient location when staying in London.

Upfront - The saving grace is their front desk receptionist Adriana. If it wasn't for her I would have checked out three days into the stay. She is a very professional and personable person. Cudo's to Hilton for finding employees like her. I am a Hilton Honors member, so I ALWAYS choose Hilton over all other properties (I love my points). This is one hotel I will never stay at again; it is a poor excuse for a Hilton. The entire hotel looks like it was built in the early 80s, and hasn't had a moment of refresh since. Aesthetics aside (I can forgive and old looking hotel, if it's well-maintained - this is not). Tip: ask for their Deluxe rooms in the Tower Wing. These are located on the high floors with a city view (mine was on the 21st floor), and are all recently refurbished rooms. The hotel is in a great location, minutes away from Paddington and walking distance from Oxford Street, Marble Arch and Hyde Park. Attended a large company event here. Stayed on the 3rd floor and was able to try out the Hilton Honors Lounge. For the most part the Lounge was fine, but they often ran out of food in the afternoon so if you got there late afternoon there wasn't much around in the way of food. It was nice to be able to store your bags there while you are waiting for the room. Room was OK in terms of size, but the king bed was very uncomfortable - especially for a week's stay. However, an error occurred as the reservation was forwarded through Booking.com from Travelocity: the 2 children disappeared. I like London because it is a great walkable city. Though I often try to vary hotels when I'm visiting London, The Hilton London Metropole is one hotel to which I often return to. 2 short tube stops from Paddington station, the hotel is located in an area surrounded by restaurants, shops and tourist attractions. Just a quick 10 mins walk from Piccadilly Circus, and obviously a mere 20 mins from Green Park and Buckingham Palace. The hotel is somewhat busy. While the restaurant serves up some del... Read more

an easy walk from Paddington. A typical convention hotel. Lobby is always crowded. The neighborhood is great if you like lots of different cultures. Go ten blocks up and it is traditional flats in a wealthy and nice neighborhood (St John Wood). Go ten block down and you approach Marble Arch and the beginning of Mayfair. But this hotel is located right in the center of mostly middle eastern foods, stores, etc. We loved it but friends found it challenging. I would certainly ask for high floor sinc... Read more

First let me say the location is great and staff are fabulous. The hotel itself is tired and in sore need of a refresh. I understand it is a the largest hotel in London with 1000 rooms so maybe it caters more to the convention types. The rooms were clean and large but the furniture is peeling and beat up. We upgraded to the signature level and it was better but we had a lovely Ikea style bed that creaked. So if you are interested in location then it works.

This hotel was set in a quiet location not far from the station. It was close to Paddington station which made it ideal if you're taking the Heathrow express train. The foyer and the bar of the hotel were nice and modern however the actual rooms were small and felt a bit dated and dreary. Quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, booked the Hilton as I stupidly thought the standard would be high, first room (518) looked onto a grey concrete wall with the busiest dual carriageway behind, moved to 2106, much better view but the room was appalling, not been refurbished in 10/15 years, small grubby & worn, paint peeling, stains on the carpet, opened the mini bar to put my medication in, it was hot & smelled like something had died in it. The Hilton London Metropole, has an Westwing, Eastwing, and Tower. The room given to me was on the 7th floor of the Tower. Although the room had been serviced, it was not clean. The carpet was old, stained and smelled. There were particles left on the floor from the previous guest, the bed was sloppily made. I was not comfortable. When I asked to be changed to another room, I was told there was no availability. Housekeeping was sent up to vacuum the carpet, but the stains and smell was still the... Read more

Just returned from Hilton London Metropole. Overall I was very impressed with the hotel and it suited my needs perfectly. I was in London on a midweek business trip. I needed a quality hotel near Paddington with good tube connections. The hotel was just a ten minute walk from Paddington and really easy to find. The nearest tube station is Edgware Road and it's literally across the road from the hotel. You can get to pretty much anywhere in central London within half an hour or less. The hotel ... Read more

The hotel is great for events. I was there for 4 nights. The hotel is near the Edgware tube station. 10 minutes walk and you at Marble Arch . The breakfast is very good with a lot of choices. At night they have a bar located at the 23th floor which there the atmosphere is unique and also you can see London . Especially at night. The rooms are huge and very clean. They recommend us few restaurants and they were great and tasty. Enjoy
