We were somewhat taken back by the small lobby and the fact that our room was below ground floor. The staff in the lobby was very helpful and the room was quite nice, in spite of its location. It was roomy not damp, and got plenty of sunlight. The bed was comfortable, but it was a Murphy bed, though with all of the room even when the bed was open, I don't know why it has to be that type of bed. The main drawback to the bed was that there was no head board, but a space that made it uncomfortable... Read more

Stayed here briefly for 1 night while at an event. The room was reasonable for London prices - we were in a twin that had a double and two single beds, so the room was a good size; it cost less that £110, with breakfast included. We came from Stanstead and the Circle line would usually take you to the hotel, where there's a 10 minute walk from Victoria Street underground station. The room needed the couple of fans that were in the wardrobe. There's plenty of tea, coffee and bathroom products, ... Read more

This hotel does look like the pictures on their website so let me start there. The double room I stayed in (2 beds pushed together) was average at best. The beds were not the most comfortable and the furniture well, was scratched and looked let's say as vintage as the hotel. If traveling from the US take your own outlet adapter as they only had 1 USA converter in the entire 79 room hotel. They only cost about $6 US Dollars their if you don't have one. This Hotel was a little disappointing. It's small and even though I was told I had an upgraded room it appeared to be a routine double. What struck me was Continental breakfast was £18, like how does that work? Who spends that kind of money on a coffee and croissant?

Had the opportunity to spend (only!) one night here and I had one of the most elegant and cozy experiences in London. The staff was really nice, the room was large enough (for English standards), the bathroom was nice & clean. I would say...the place is a great deal - offer/price. Not to mention the location...in the middle of...EVERYTHING!

The hotel itself is in a great location. Nice a quiet are of London. About a 15 minute walk from everything. I booked the executive room and it was smaller than I expected it to be. And was disappointed with the lack of power outlets. The wifi work just as I thought it would. The room had a little balcony and view of the park. I went to the restaurant only because my room wasn't ready when I arrived and I needed 45 minutes to kill. Overall it's was an average hotel.

We stayed one night. It as very peaceful. The room was big and clean, though a bit old fashioned if that bothers you. Staff were helpful. No complaints at all - especially for the price. I have only given four stars as there were lots of minor issues with the room (shower slightly leaky, curtain hooks missing, a bit of peeling wall paper) - none of which bothered us, but can't give it 5stars. Tea and coffee facilities in room were OK. Breakfast was ok (standard stuff, fresh toast made for you, ... Read more

The rooms were very spacious compared to other hotels and we were lucky enough to get a room over looking Vincent Square. Absolutely beautiful. The blurb States "peacefully located in royal Westminster" & it's true! My daughter & I had a twin room for 3 nights with continental breakfast for £350. Clean room with everything you need - comfortable bed. Reception staff very pleasant. Breakfast was quite substantial as ham, salami, cheese we're available as well as cereals, rolls, croissants & fruit. Only downside was wifi charged at £5 an hour. Easy walk from Victoria station - about 5 - 10 minutes. Good value.

Very accommodating and helpful staff that seem always willing to help. Rooms clean and spacious, with comfortable bed (We were in a Superior Double). We had a room which was ok - others are smaller. The staff were helpful, including the restaurant staff. 'Hot' breakfast would have been better had warm plates been supplied. The room was very clean and reasonably stocked.

This hotel is in a great location overlooking the cricket square, and the staff are wonderful. Being in the heart of London this place is surprisingly peaceful at night. The rooms are small, but this is Central London - what do you expect? Suggest you spend more time exploring the nearby attractions. A great little hotel.

The hotel is located in a nice neighbourhood near Victora station and Buckingham palace. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, with eager and helpful staff. I stayed in a spacious room on the ground floor(G1), with a great, comfy bed, excellent shower and a decent couch for resting up between walks. The TV in the room was a bit basic, the Wifi was OK, and I did miss having a minibar - but their loss I guess. The service in the hotel bar was ace, cheers Gabriel! All in all, everything just went s... Read more

We just returned from our time in Great Britain and used this hotel as our main base. We returned throughout the few weeks we were there. I am so glad I chose this hotel as our main stay. We were very pleased. Amazing staff at the front, and in the restaurant. Breakfast was always good. We even had dinner there twice and we very pleased. Hotel is in a good location close to many sights and it is quiet. It is close to Victoria Station & you can walk and in fact unless you have huge suitc... Read more

The welcome at check in gets 5 stars - extremely friendly and helpful reception staff, room ready an hour early - but the rest, not so good. I booked a superior double and the room itself was not bad although it had two smallish double beds - my husband and I have been together for a long time but we're not ready for separate beds just yet! It would have been better with one larger bed instead. But this is not the reason for my review. The bathroom was minuscule. So small that when you sat o... Read more

A last minute booking. Fair rates although price could be better. However, the location is fabulous as is the safe neighbourhood. Staff very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble including the door men and receptionists (nice to see personality and laughter in London). Didn't have time for breakfast but I'm sure it would have been nice. I love the old 60s style lift (best bit) the rooms are very reasonably sized. Bathroom was slightly tight for some. I think this hotel has such potential but... Read more

Stayed one night midweek for business. The room overlooked a sports field and was very peaceful- it even had a mini balcony so I could get fresh air and enjoy the view. An old-fashioned hotel not trying to conform to modern trends. Kettle and tea/coffee in quirky wall-mounted wooden unit. Good wifi. Good service. Heating was set too high on arrival but easy to control and windows opened fully. Bed comfy and I slept well. The bathroom could do with some maintenance- grouting and sealant ne... Read more

The welcome at check in gets extremely bad and not helpful. The rooms are very small & bathroom minuscule. They are dirty and rooms they smell really bad. The beds to small and very not comfortable. The hair dryer was not working, the fridge was locked with a key. Overall I am disappointed and definitely this is not even 2* hotel.

I stayed in a basement room. Think it was G7. The bed was a fold away into the wall but was comfortable. The room furniture is a bit dated. The bathroom was small it had a bath with shower over & double sink. It was all very clean. The room itself was spacious. Breakfast is in the conservatory. Coffee was nothing special, quite weak, possibly instant. The cooked breakfast was a small self service buffet. I didn't think the quality was very good but perfectly edible. There was cereal & continent... Read more

This is a bit of a quirky hotel, so rooms may be different, but I found a comfortable bed, big windows, quiet, big room for London standards, and helpful staff. The location is great for exploring. I'm a big walker and had no problems, but here isn't much right in the few block radius, if you're looking for things right outside the front door. After 5 nights I would say it's a really good option and will consider staying there again.

Room (215) was small but we weren't in it much so did the job. Bathroom very dated and shower head in need of attention (de-scaling). Tea & coffee replenished every morning. Didn't experience breakfast as far too expensive.

I staid a couple of night in the Grange Rochester which is next to Grange Wellington. I know the Wellington which I likely very much but choose the Rochester Grange this time which was not the best choice. The location is very good. If you have a room toward the Vincent square it very quiet. Sleep comfort is also fine. Generally the Grange Rochester is of a very traditional style, however everything looks a bid battered, although I had an executive room however. Room size was ok, however the b... Read more

Great location, walking distance to Westminster Abbey and Parliament etc. 5 mins from Victoria Station. We got a great deal on Hotels.com. The rooms are small but well appointed. Yes we'd stay there again.

In London for a course, spent 2 nights in the Grange Rochester. Booked last minute, only a small single room available. Room was clean, comfortable and had everything needed apart from air conditioning. As it was mid November you would think that would not be an issue, however.... room was very warm and stuffy with window closed, opened the window and it sounded like i was sleeping on a traffic Island in rush hour. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food was lovely. Would definitely stay again but... Read more

Booked a two day stay here for the remembrance day parade, we wanted somewhere relatively close but not too central. Overall a very quiet peaceful location on Vincent Square, the staff were very helpful and we had no issues with that, the hotel itself though was definitely showing its age, we had booked what was described as a "superior "room, well sadly not, 5th floor with the roof line intruding into the bathroom, pretty small room as well, the bathroom whilst fully functional and had everythi... The location was perfect for me which was I chose this hotel. The staff were friendly and the room was comfortable but an odd shape with little room between the bed and the very small bathroom. The shower was OK but, like the room decor, very dated. The room had no air conditioning and became unbearably hot overnight. The radiator by the window was on full blast at 3:00 in the morning so I slept with windows wide open. This wasn't ideal because of traffic and the first window I opened moved ... Read more

My second stay at the Grange Rochester and this time was slightly better than last time! Location-wise it's really good, within a short walk of Victoria Station and the staff are generally very friendly - check-in was quick and efficient and the porter at the door is a nice touch. My room was huge (402) with two double beds and plenty of space however, the bathroom was tiny and it was a bit of a struggle to move around. It's also incredibly hot in this hotel and there doesn't seem to be any way ... Read more

Everything went very smoothly, and I had no trouble at all, checking in, with my nights sleep, or breakfast, or checking it. It all worked perfectly The staff were all wonderful.
