This is a hotel really handy for the tube and set close to Hyde Park which can be enjoyed for a stroll. The staff were freindly and tried to sort out any issues with good grace. Breakfast was pretty standard for a hotel of this type - if rather on the pricey side. The big issue - as previously indicated by other reviewsers - is the size of the rooms. We were in a so-called "superior double" - a "club room" upgrade I was told at reception. I can therefore only imagine that a normal room really ... Read more

Visiting London alone for a trade fair, I needed 3 nights at reasonable cost. Booked via the hotels own website, a better deal than elsewhere. Location is great. One minute walk from Queensway tube on Central line, or a few minutes walk from Bayswater tube. This means that most of London is easy to get to. The hotel restaurant only does breakfast, no evening meals. However walk around the corner to Queensway and there are lot of places to eat, a couple of Italians, Indians, an expensive French ... This is an excellent hotel - staff are helpful, hotel is spotless, rooms are very comfortable and modern not reflected in the old worlde feel of the reception and bar. Its 200 meters from Queensway on the central line and surrounded by good places to eat, convenience stores and services. The only down side is the rooms was a little small but value for money at £140 per night!

I generally stay at the Grand Royale when visiting London. Comfortable, well equipped rooms with efficient air con and importantly good wi fi. Friendly and efficient staff, and a wonderful buffet breakfast. Ideally located 1 minute from the Central Line, 2 minutes from the Circle & district Lines, and just over the road from Hyde Park. Perfect location for my trips. Starting the day with a jog in Hyde Park and a great breakfast sets me up for a day in London.

We booked this hotelink partly because of its proximity to Hyde Park. We were going to see Carol King at the BST festival there. We could hardly have chosen a better location! Wanted to book a special weekend away & wanted a hotel to match. The Grand Royale did just that. Built by King Edward VII for his mistress Lille Langtry the exterior & interior reflects this opulent era. The service is excellent & the staff made our birthday weekend a priority with cake & balloon brought to our room. As the name suggests this is quite a grand hotel which you see when you first walk into the reception area, very traditional decor with the sitting room and bar and large staircase up to the rooms. The room itself was small (I booked a superior double) with creaky floorboards so I was worried about disturbing those in the floor underneath me! I booked this hotel because I was to meet some people and the lobby should be great. The lobby was closed, and the entrance area was simply not suited. Ended up using the bar with the worse service ever! The rooms are tiny, small halls with stairs everywhere, so make sure you are fit. The rooms are not sound proof, so I could literally hear what the couple next door was talking about. My room had really old carpets so I felt (and it looked) very dirty. Down hill from here. We waited 20 minutes to even get to the check in desk, and it wasn't even that busy. Stayed here for 3 nights and it was perfect for what we wanted. As others have said, the rooms are very small with no where to put a large suitcase, however if you are on a short break it works perfectly. A minutes walk from 2 different tube stations, Hyde park, lots of restaurants and shops - the location is ideal. We also walked into central London and up to regents park easily. The staff were really helpful and always on hand. Breakfast needs a special mention - we booked directly with the ho... Read more

The hotel itself is situated in a nice area, close to the most popular areas in London. I stayed here with my partner along side his family. The hotel is beautiful and has an old traditional reception, seating area ect, where the rooms are a lot more modern.. which to I though t be a good thing. The air con was great too and the bathroom size was also good. The rooms are very small and there isn't much space to move around so if you like a lot of space this might not be for you, but I'm not sure... Read more

We stayed for 2 nights at the Grand Royale London Hyde Park. Unfortunately there were scaffolding works going on, as they were renovating the facade, which was a bit of a shame. The room was pretty small, but functional and clean. The bed was comfortable and all appliances worked. The staff at the reception wasn't very friendly, for some odd reason. Also was our luggage brought to the wrong room and was therefor missing for a while until they found it. The location is ideal as a base for sight... Read more

Traditional British Hotel but with modern guestrooms which some may consider small but did'nt bother us in the least. Very comfortable. Fabulous location, adjacent to Hyde Park with convenient access to tube and buses. Friendly accommodating staff. Highly recommend this property.

Stayed here for one night as a birthday treat for my daughter. The Edwardian hotel had loads of character and fascinating history to it. The rooms were very modern and comfortable. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, which was delicious. It was a most enjoyable break and would definitely stay again when visiting London. Lovely, would definitely recommend it.

We had stayed in a few other hotels in the area over the past 6 months or so and was really happy. We were therefore delighted when we saw a hotel with what seemed such character being offered in one of our favourite areas of London From the moment we checked in until we checked out, we were treated with the highest politeness and customer service was second to none. We were given an upgrade to a club room which was an unexpected nice touch and all the staff were always courteous and willing t... Read more

Was taken by my wife as an early birthday treat, after struggling to find it (the whole facade was covered in scaffolding) we wandered into the reception area. Staff seemed a little pre-occupied and it wasn't until we walked through the reception that we were approached. We were led into a marvellous room with huge pictures and a gorgeous fireplace, the young lady handed us a menu stating what we would be getting (superb scones and treats) the menu also had a brief history of the building which ... My friends and I found the staff so lovely, always helpful and would go out of their way to ensure you had an excellent stay. The hotel itself itself is lovely, rooms are clean, beds comfortable, breakfast is great. The location is very handy with a tube station around the corner. We would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I were very pleased with our accommodations. The room, while not large, was quite comfortable. We were most happy and impressed by the level of service we were afforded by the staff. From reception, to housekeeping, to the wait staff at breakfast, we received outstanding service from everyone. I wish to particularly commend Josefina, whose exceptional service, friendly demeanor, and attentiveness to anything we could possibly want or need, truly made our experience one to remember.... It is an old hotel with dark wood panel decoration which made the hotel look much older. I was given a room at 8 floor, which needs to climb a few stairs after reaching 7 floor to reach the room. Room is small but acceptable for a day or two stay. The hotel is conveniently located near bus stop and under ground station.
