This is a hotel really handy for the tube and set close to Hyde Park which can be enjoyed for a stroll. The staff were freindly and tried to sort out any issues with good grace. Breakfast was pretty standard for a hotel of this type - if rather on the pricey side. The big issue - as previously indicated by other reviewsers - is the size of the rooms. We were in a so-called "superior double" - a "club room" upgrade I was told at reception. I can therefore only imagine that a normal room really ... Read more

Visiting London alone for a trade fair, I needed 3 nights at reasonable cost. Booked via the hotels own website, a better deal than elsewhere. Location is great. One minute walk from Queensway tube on Central line, or a few minutes walk from Bayswater tube. This means that most of London is easy to get to. The hotel restaurant only does breakfast, no evening meals. However walk around the corner to Queensway and there are lot of places to eat, a couple of Italians, Indians, an expensive French ... This is an excellent hotel - staff are helpful, hotel is spotless, rooms are very comfortable and modern not reflected in the old worlde feel of the reception and bar. Its 200 meters from Queensway on the central line and surrounded by good places to eat, convenience stores and services. The only down side is the rooms was a little small but value for money at £140 per night!

I generally stay at the Grand Royale when visiting London. Comfortable, well equipped rooms with efficient air con and importantly good wi fi. Friendly and efficient staff, and a wonderful buffet breakfast. Ideally located 1 minute from the Central Line, 2 minutes from the Circle & district Lines, and just over the road from Hyde Park. Perfect location for my trips. Starting the day with a jog in Hyde Park and a great breakfast sets me up for a day in London.

We booked this hotelink partly because of its proximity to Hyde Park. We were going to see Carol King at the BST festival there. We could hardly have chosen a better location! Wanted to book a special weekend away & wanted a hotel to match. The Grand Royale did just that. Built by King Edward VII for his mistress Lille Langtry the exterior & interior reflects this opulent era. A nightcap in the Theatre Bar where she used to perform for the King is an experience in itself. The service is excellent & the staff made our birthday weekend a priority with cake & balloon brought to our room. The rooms are as expected for central London, you are directly opposite Hyde Park wi... Read more

As the name suggests this is quite a grand hotel which you see when you first walk into the reception area, very traditional decor with the sitting room and bar and large staircase up to the rooms. The room itself was small (I booked a superior double) with creaky floorboards so I was worried about disturbing those in the floor underneath me! But very well equipped with tea and coffee and hot chocolate making facilities with comfy twin beds pushed together and no noise from the quiet road outsid... Read more

We stayed for two nights 10-12 September 2016 Its looks very impressive, the reception was very opulent. The check in was very chaotic but after a short wait we got to our room which was very small but after consideration it had everything we needed. The shower room was very impressive and everything was very clean and tidy with plenty of tea and coffee and toiletries. From the shower room to the bed area there were 4 steps which were a bit tricky to navigate in the middle of the night. Could b... Read more

I booked this hotel because I was to meet some people and the lobby should be great. The lobby was closed, and the entrance area was simply not suited. Ended up using the bar with the worse service ever! The rooms are tiny, small halls with stairs everywhere, so make sure you are fit. The rooms are not sound proof, so I could literally hear what the couple next door was talking about. My room had really old carpets so I felt (and it looked) very dirty. The door the bath room was so sticky and f... Read more

We stayed here for 5 nights to see the city of London. To make it quick: for the price, and considering it is a 4 star hotel, it was well worth it. The reception is extremely polite and helpful, and would go a little out of their way to answer questions for us. We were upgraded for free to a slightly larger room. The rooms are very small, but we will had room to lay out our suitcases, and anyways, we didn't spend so much time in the room. Wifi is free. Breakfast is not. Breakfast is 12 po... Read more

Arrived on Friday morning to have reception say that they had a problem with the water and quite a number of the rooms were unavailable and that they were going to move us to a sister hotel. I had read the reviews online before leaving and saw this story in the past but hadn't seen it in recent reviews. So, we said that it wasn't acceptable and we didn't want to go to another hotel. The receptionist called her manager over and she immediately told us that she couldn't have a room ready for us un... Read more

I stayed at this hotel over night after attending a concert in Hyde Park. First visual impressions were very good. Oak panelling, painted ceilings and Chesterfield sofas. So far so good. Down hill from here. We waited 20 minutes to even get to the check in desk, and it wasn't even that busy. We had prepaid for our room, but the check in staff insisted in asking to make a copy of the credit card. I've never been asked for this before on a pre booked room, and I was very suspicious. We ... We received great service and the afternoon tea was set in a beautiful room. It was a chocolate afternoon tea - ideal for all those chocolate lovers. The chocolate scones were amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Phoned us at 11am on the saturday we were staying, emergency maintenance issues meant we couldn't have a room, but had switched us to their sister hotel around the corner, with an upgraded room. checked in there with dozens of others who had had the same trick pulled on them. nothing we could do, other than try trading standards. sister hotel was okay, albeit with a lot less character. I would not book here again, as they clearly overbook every chance they get. almost spoilt my wife's birthd... Read more

This is our second stay in this hotel. Returned this time as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children 4 and 6 years old) and we stayed in the family room. Upon arrival there was an issue with the heating system in the hotel and the reception staff wanted to relocate us to another sister hotel. We were very upset as we specifically chose the hotel because we were familiar with it and liked the location. The staff were very good and managed to find us a room within the hotel and compensated us with ... Read more

21 reviews 2.0 star rating 9/19/2016 OMG...I live in hotels about 20 days a month and by far this room was the tiniest I've ever seen. Size of a small walk-in closet is being generous. I was on the 8th floor which is an elevator ride and then 2 small flights of stairs to a "space" with a window the size of an 8x10 photo LITERALLY and it only swung open about 2 inches. Bathroom was small but modern however...they designed it to have only a 1 ft glass panel to vertically to prevent the shower spra... Read more

Excellent position not far from the tube and with easy access to Hyde park. We stayed B and B as we were visiting London attractions and the theater Although the staff were very polite and helpful and the public areas were wonderful, our room was the smallest I have ever been in. It did not fail in contents though everything we needed was provided. With a little more thought the room could have been made easier by moving the bed just 6 inches further away from the window, then it might have b... Read more

Booked superior double, so claustrophobic, changed to another room, twin, club, much better, slightly bigger. Staff lovely, very helpful. Hotel have a contract with taxi firm, use this, guaranteed price, look out for Mr W Antoun, so good, on time, picks up where ever you are...lovely man. Fixed prices cheaper than black cabs. This hotel has a habit of booking you in, then contacts beforehand to move you to a sister hotel.

The hotel lobby is impressive with elegant wooden design. The room is modern style though a bit small like most hotels in London. It situates very close to the well-know Four Season, several Thai and Chinese restaurants nearby as well as close to several convenient stores. There are 2 tubes station in a walking distance. The staff is very nice and helpful. I address my gratitude to Mr. Razvon who gave me an impressive assistance when needed.
