Another great stay here, receptionist was welcoming and easy check-in. Tasty cookie on arrival as a welcome. Bottle of water in the room complimentary. The room was pleasant and modern since the rebrand. The room service assistant was very polite and friendly when delivering breakfast. The chambermaid friendly and said good morning. Checking out, again the receptionist was friendly and the staff here are a real asset to the hotel. It does make a real difference to a guests experience. One of m... Read more

This hotel is conveniently located for the ExCel but out of the way for anything else. Travel to and from central London is via Docklands Light Rail then a multitude of underground connections. By the time you arrive at your destination, you're exhausted, late and broke.

As a regular visitor to the Canary Wharf area, I was delighted to discover this hotel. It was by far the most friendly and the level of customer service would be hard to beat. Recently renovated the rooms are fresh and spacious. Would definately stay there again

We stayed here for a concert at the Olympic Stadium. It's a couple of minutes walk from a DLR station which made travel to and from the stadium very simple. The hotel itself is very nice and clean and the room was spotless. Unlike many other hotels I've stayed at, the air con worked well and kept the room cool. Comfortable bed and large shower. Room service was a bit slow but the food was very good.

Loved this hotel so much. We enjoyed the hot cookie on arrival, such a lovely touch. The rooms were clean and well sized. We enjoyed room service a few nights which was quick and value for money. The breakfast was wonderful - great variety and fresh. We also used the bar one evening and that was enjoyable as well. All in all, we rally enjoyed our experience. The staff were wonderful. So polite and helpful. All in all a wonderful stay :)

I stopped over here for one night after landing late at London city airport. I checked in and was given a warm cookie which was a nice touch, the hotel room was average, the basin tap was broken and the flush plate on the wc kept coming off. It's a bit tired really and could do with an overhaul, I was on the 8th floor which meant I had to get the lift to the 5th floor and find the lifts that took us to the 8th floor, odd set up. We stayed for two nights, arriving on Saturday evening. The reception staff were first rate - and as others have said, the warm cookie is a nice touch. The bed and bedding are excellent and the shower is a good size. The hospitality tray is very limited with only two miniature cartons of UHT milk - I had both in a cup of tea and it still wasn't enough - my husband (kindly) made do with black tea until he could get to a shop to buy some milk. My allocated room overlooked the water and airport but was not noisy and the view was very pleasurable watching the planes pass by the window! The room was spacious and cleaned to a high standard. I did not eat dinner in the hotel as there are a couple of local restaurants within 10 mins walk. Breakfast ... Read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms at this hotel. The room was well sized with a very comfortable bed and modern shower room. The hotel's location does mean that in certain rooms the windows face out onto the DLR rooms and there is some noise from London City Airport, but nothing untoward. The breakfast was excellent, with a good array of foods of good quality. I'd stay at this hotel again.

We stayed at this hotel from 24/08/16 for four nights in a suite. At reception there was a mix up with the room we had booked online as someone else was still occupying it. Anna at reception was excellent and was of great assistance . Reception staff are friendly and we were pleased with their service. The Hotel is conveniently located if using excel, canary wharf and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast buffet was upto standard. Unfortunately the furniture and deco is so dated in the rooms. The... We stayed as a family of 3 at the Double tree by Hilton to be close to the Excel and wasn't disappointed. We were given a suit with 2 separate rooms overlooking the water front and the London sky line that lit up at night. Very close to the DLR and Excel center and other London attractions. Breakfast was plentiful just as you would expect from a Hilton. The only complaint I would have is about the parking. Its advertised as free parking but when we arrived, we had to pay £15.

I stayed here for one night in October 2016. I booked the Hotel because of its proximity to the Excel where I was working at an event (5 minutes walk, if that) and also because of the reasonable price. I was not disappointed! After a long journey to be greeted with a warm cookie at check in was fabulous! I was lucky enough to arrive just in time to enjoy a meal in the Restaurant where the waiter was considerate enough to seat me (as a quite nervous single lady traveller) at a small table with my... If you're visiting the Excel, then this hotel is perfect. Only a short cab ride from City Airport too. I found a standard of service at reception and throughout the hotel. Rooms were well equipped and clean. In the morning breakfast was very good indeed.

I am currently on my way home from a lovely one night stay at this hotel, upon arrival we were greeted warmly by staff and immediately our experience was made special. Me and my boyfriend came for a one night stay here and the location was decent for what we wanted. I will state that when we first got into our room it had not been cleaned and was obvious someone had stayed here and checked out recently, however I will say the staff could not apologise enough and quickly put this right with the... Staff were universally friendly. The warm cookie at check in is a nice touch, but perhaps they should offer an apple as an alternative. Rooms were pretty good, mine was a twin with double beds, so lots of room. Good views over the water and airport on the south side of the hotel. A few cosmetic issues here and there but clean and tidy on the whole. Tea and coffee tray good, but no minibar. Shower was excellent. Breakfast was also excellent, good attentive staff and a wide range of food cho... Read more

Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Booked a Standard room on a Corporate rate which was good value for money and owing to my Hilton Honors Diamond Status was given an upgrade to a one bedroom suite with view of the River Thames. Hotel is well soundproofed from incoming aircraft into the London City Airport is just a few minutes walk from the Prince Regent DLR station to access Canary Wharf (Direct to Poplar). Hotel is also adjacent to the Excel so would be ideal for conferences or events ther... Read more

I ry to avoid staying in Central London as much as possible, as the price you pay to stay close to the city's main attractions is just a bad deal, considering that the city have one of the most efficient transportation systems of any other in the world. So I've decided this time to stay in the Cannary Wharf area, which is less expensive, most of the hotels are relatively new and there is the DLR tram, the Jubilee underground line that connect you to anywhere in London. The hotel room is modern a... Read more

The location has not affected the rating, its a Good hotel but I would not recommend staying here if you are going to be travelling in and out to London city centre each day for sight seeing. Took us 40 minutes to get to a tube line using the DLR. What brought down the rating was the breakfast, had to queue for about 20 minutes for breakfast, the queue was out the door. When we got in, half of the breakfast items were gone. The queue for toast was so long & no bread stacked up either. No eggs l... Read more

We stayed here for 3 nights in August , booked last minute and the rooms were great, breakfast everyday was very varied, hot and cold and staff were friendly! Very close to London excel centre. Parking isn't great though, they have limited free spaces. They have another car park next to the hotel but you have to pay it's not very clear where is free and where isn't.

We chose this hotel for proximity to ExCel where I was attending a conference. We were upgraded to an executive suite on the 9th floor. Access to the lifts was through the restaurant winding around tables and through a narrow corridor. This was awkward for transporting a lot of luggage and felt odd. There was a curved balcony to the suite but we were disappointed that the doors were locked, presumably for safety reasons. The inward curved windows considerably reduced space in the bedroom which f... Read more

I stayed at this Doubletree on Sunday night in July having stayed before when it was a Ramada. The hotel is situated at the eastern end of excel and there are a couple of DLR stations adjacent. It takes approximately twenty minutes to Bank and about five minutes to Canning Town. Check-in was a bit chaotic. The PDQ machine was not working and it seemed to take ages to check-in. Off to the room which was clean and well maintained, however on comparison to other DoubleTree's I have staye... Read more

We booked this Hilton for the location as we usually stay in more central London. The location was great for the excel and the tube. We had a Queen Suite as were staying with our two boys. The size of the room was great and had all we needed, but the sofa bed was awful! The mattress was so worn you could feel every spring and it was painful to lay on, how the kids slept on it I'll never know! We stayed here before flying out of city airport which is a short taxi ride away. It was expensive but I wouldn't have minded if I had managed yo get some sleep (which was our whole objective in staying there!). Unfortunately the bed was really squeaky and every time I rolled over I was awoken by the noise of the bed! I felt like I hadn't had a nights sleep and that it had been a complete waste of money. I couldn't have faulted the cleanliness or the friendliness of the staff - just the bed!

This is probably the best of the hotels close to London City Airport. We had a lift down from a relative and there was free parking for her for the evening. The taxi next morning was more expensive than we expected. The room was decent and the dinner, although not fine dining, was perfectly acceptable. If you are not in a hurry there are some interesting walks along the river
