The rooms are tiny, but far worse is the air conditioning system. We had to change rooms three times before being given one that worked at all, then when we finally had A/C we learned that there was a timer which would only allow the compressor to run for up to 18 minutes before switching to fan only. Getting up every half hour or so during the night to reset the timer was not our idea of a restful night's sleep. We learned you cannot always go by the Doubletree name when looking for a quality p... Read more

I just returned from a marvelous trip to London where I attended the famous Chelsea Flower Show as well as mansions and gardens in the area. Our tour (wonderful) was housed at this hotel. The hotel is in a wonderful location close to restaurants, the tube, buses, Victoria and Albert Museum and Concert Hall, Museum of Natural History, and not far from Westminster Abbey. It's a great location in a very hip area. However, apparently the rapid renovation from the Regency to the Doubletree made ... Read more

I stayed here as part of a tour group. The room was small and dark and we never could get the temperature regulated. It was either too cold or too hot. The room was in a terrible location with no view at all. The bathroom was also tiny. All in all, a miserable experience. 'Couldn't wait to leave! The restaurant was adequate; nice enough breakfast buffet but not fabulous. The one dinner I ate there was with our group and it was good so I can't really give an opinion. I ate all other meals in loc... Read more

Very nice hotel. Lovely decor. Great location. Close to Tube stop, and close to shops and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful, with a super prompt check-in experience. Will stay again!

I spend a good few nights at this hotel, located in the Kensington neighbourhood. It was a good hotel: a short few minutes walk to South Kensington tube station, comfortable beds, very speedy WiFi in the rooms (seriously!), and very friendly staff. I'm HHonors Gold so enjoyed the complimentary English breakfast. Only a few minor wrinkles: the in-room kettle didn't work (and I was too tired to make a fuss about it), no shampoo bottle received the first day, and couldn't get cold water to come o... Read more

This is my 3rd time staying in this hotel now, never lets me down! Although it's quite pricey that's fully expected for the area. Lovely staff always happy to help and get greeted with a lovely welcoming every time you enter the hotel, even recieve a yummy homemade cookie upon arrival! Hotel in great area lots of places round it for food & drinks & coffee etc, plus tesco express & waitrose and only a 5 minute walk to tube station, nice clean modern rooms quite spacious compared to some London ro... A great location, close enough to transport, Kensington Park, Chelsea etc however far enough away that it's not drowning in tourists. Hotel has been upgraded recently and is clean and modern, however rooms are small. However as it's clean and in a great location, this is a good trade.

I stayed in room 102 from June 25 - July 2, 2016. Here's the good, the check-in was easy, the staff was generally friendly and helpful and the breakfast offered was very agreeable. Good location and very accessible to the tube. The rooms and bathrooms were very small but I expected that from the reviews, Here's the bad - the standard of service was inconsistent - the staff at the restaurant was superb as was the concierge. The folks at the front desk less so. Almost everyone working at the h... Read more

Checked in late after a delayed flight quite tired looking forward to a clean comfortable room for a good nights sleep. Wrong! The room was on the 5th floor, with no view whatsoever , air conditioner not working at all , traffic noise very prominent , had to be 30c in the room! Went back to front desk to be told the Hotel was fully booked no other rooms available and they would supply fan for the night! Asked why it was they allow clients in such a hot room without AC. Was told they were no... Read more

We stayed for a few weeks, the rooms are nice and clean good bed, but had some noise in our room and the customer service was slow and sometimes unhelpful. Location is good and central, just was hampered by small issues that added up after a number of weeks.

My wife, my son and I booked a Premium Suite (45 sq meter) for two days in July 2016. Our booking was confirmed and we brought with us the confirmation. When we arrived at the hotel, the reseption could not find our reservation. The used 45 minutes to try to figure out what had went wrong, while we were waiting at the reseption desk. Our patience ran out, and we asked whether we needed to find another hotel. After 45 minutes (!) we got a room, however a suite half the size of which we booke... Read more

This review is an average of 5 and 1. First the negatives: I don't see adequate air conditioning in a hotel room for a Hilton property as something that should be a question mark. For a week that the high never reached over 76 F, we never could get the room cooled down to a level in which we could sleep comfortably. Throw on top of that the combined sheet and duvet that can be separated only with difficulty, and you can see our problem. The second negative was related; called the Careline n... Read more

I loved the location of this hotel. There are several nearby restaurants, ice cream parlors and eateries. Harrods is just a 15-20 min walk away. My room was spacious and clean. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my 2 night stay here.

South Kensington station was a five minute walk, so getting around to other areas and attractions was easy. The neighborhood itself had plenty to do, with restaurants, shops, bars, pubs all within walking distance. The hotel is in a charming, lovely building and the staff was every bit as helpful as you'd want them to be. Fantastic stay! Will definitely return to this hotel.

Best to list rather than comment for clarity; Fingermaks in abundance left by maintenance repairing the aircon. Badly fitted aircon shutter. Luggage scuff marks. Toilet seat fixed askew. Circuitous Route beyond acceptable to room. ( 1st floor on 2 levels ?) Uncovered vent hole above bed, eek ! Mirror in Bathroom did not de-mist ? Lightening in room mainly timed for "speedy gonzalez".. very frustrating. Tiny Corner window with minimal light breakthrough. Shower lacking in force, could be an end ... Read more

This is more a review of Hilton themselves. My one night stay in Kensington was excellent on all levels; well drilled staff throughout the hotel intent on providing a consistently great level of service and friendly interaction. This can't be easy getting all staff singing off the same hymn sheet but what is truly amazing is that this is repeated across all Hilton hotels I stay in. My natural inclination is actually toward independent, quirky hotels but Hilton make you feel as if your busine... Read more

If you are looking for great customer service, staff, location and value for money, then this is the place to stay. The Hilton brand is certainly one to trust. Only a quick one night stay but we would most certainly stay again and recommend it.

Fairly good location however soft mattress and pillows made for poor nights sleep. Room lighting annoying-too many switches. Bedside lamp broken. Hairdryer ineffective. Very noisy the night I stayed. Breakfast very good quality.

Very close to the famous London museums , the Albert hall and Hyde Park . The building is quite imposing, blending into the regal feel of the streets in this part of London- lots of embassies nearby. There is no executive lounge , but vouchers and a discount at the bar for Hilton honors members with status . The bar area was great for an early evening drink, it doubles up as the breakfast area in the morning . I wouldn't plan on spending the evening there as there are so many great restaurants ...
