Arrived at the hotel 9:30 A.M and they immediately checked us in. Consistent with other reviews if the hotel has a room available they will check you in even if it is many hours before official check-in time. Was given a room overlooking the interior gardens and it was very quiet despite being on a busy street. Regarding Transportation, if you travel relatively light are not arriving at the airport during rush hour would recommend taking the tube directly from the airport to Gloucester Road Tube... I've had the pleasure of staying in several crowne plaza hotels and I found this one to be sufficient, but not quite up to the standard set by the others. The lobby is beautiful and the staff was friendly; however, the rooms could use a refresh. The only staff person we encountered that wouldn't have qualified as friendly was the server/hostess at Umami. She was french and really wanted to just tell my party "no," if at possible. The restaurant management intervened and all was fine.

We stayed 2 nights in two interconnected rooms, both rooms had two double beds, plenty of space for a family of 5. My two teenagers shared one room and my 9 year old had his own bed in our room. This hotel proved to be everything it stated. It is situated near the middle of Kensington which is in a great part of town. The Tube is less than a block away. The buses pick up within the block and cabs come right to the door. You can walk to many of the attractions near by. There is an Italian food place across the street that I highly recommend. We also had an authentic London breakfast at a couple of places down the road where the tube entrance is located. I wish we would have been a... Read more

Stayed at Crowne Prince Kensington in late May and early June 2016. The first consideration staying in this hotel is its location which is near tube station (across the street) so that travelling around London and to Heathrow is easy. The rooms are tiny, with next to no closet space. Our first room was so small I didn't have room to lay out my suitcase. However, they upgraded us, for a small price, to a suite. We appreciated this. There was a pull-out sofa, but the large space could have been better utilized--still just one small closet and bathroom, so I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than families willing to share one small bathroom. Wonderful staff who can't do enough - lovely receptionist she made us feel welcome the moment we came in and Will the guest manager was very chatty too. The concierge were extremely helpful and friendly, especially as I am in a wheelchair and came to my assistance when I needed it. Very impressed with this hotel (rooms clean, nicely decorated, club lounge), but to be honest, it is made great by its wonderful staff - we will be coming back again soon!

The hotel has a pleasant good-sized rear garden with seating, which is rare bonus in London. Overall, the hotel looks very nice inside, being recently refurbished. It is a good base if you want explore the South Kensington area or to see the Natural History, Victoria and Albert Museums, or Harrods.
