Well located for events in the excel, 5min walking distance. Modern and clean hotel with spacious rooms. Simple but good breakfast. Not cheap but in line with market pricing. Is about 7min cab ride from london city airport and 5min walk from dlr. Would stay again.

After a very busy day in town with the family, this hotel has a lovely and friendly bar to relax and unwind in. The prices are not too hard on the wallet. Plus you don't have the hustle and bustle of the city. P.S A glass of prosecco has gone down a treat.

Quick and efficient check in, free room upgrade, free WiFi available throughout hotel and when we returned to our room from a drink, there was a plate of cakes and balloons for my husband's birthday which was a lovely personal touch. The bed was so comfortable and the room light and spacious with a lovely view over the water. Perfect location for the 02 and Excel and right in front of Royal Victoria DLR for Central London. This is the 4th time we have used the hotel. It's right under the flight path so some what noisy. Very efficient reception. Always grateful for after a very long drive. The restaurant staff are very nice.Food was really nice. The spa is lovely, pool nice, gym excellent. Parking is right outside. Plus if you need a taxi, they are right outside. The only criticism I have is that some of the staff were stuck up and ignorant. Not all I must point out.

This was my 4th time staying at this hotel for an event at the O2. Crowne plaza is consistently good, very friendly and helpful staff (esp Theo on reception). Had a nice room overlooking Royal Victoria dock, the window was broken but that was very quickly resolved. Breakfast was as good as ever, I didn't catch the lady in charge's name but she runs a very efficient service and makes sure everyone has what they need. We stayed at this hotel to attend the ELO concert at the O2 in April. Location was perfect, next to the Emirates Sky ride which we used to get across to the O2. Also close location to the DLR made the return journey easy too. Room was lovely and clean with a great view of the river and O2. The phone chargers were a great touch and very handy. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was good with plenty of selection. Will definitely use again for future visits to the O2.

It is an amazing hotel we got a upgrade free of charge!! And it was a room with a river view room 5030 it was exceptionally can't recommend enough, i did state to the hotel that it will be a romantic getaway and the room was decorated with roses ready and waiting. The pool Jacuzzi and steam room all was good just avoid swimming lessons for kids time, all is good we had an amazing time will surely go again.

Set in a desert constructed by mankind the Dockland Bar and Grill is so popular that my reserved table for four was the only in use at lunchtime. As I said to my guests, next time I arrange lunch I'll book a table and not a restaurant. Even the waiter laughed (please don't fire him!)

We needed a hotel overnight for concert at the O2. We live near Milton Keynes and the journey in was so easy - in to Euston, along to Bank and then DLR to Royal Victoria Dock. The stop was a 4/5 minute walk to hotel. We took the Emirates Air Line to the O2. Unfortunately, this stops at 11pm but tube access back to the hotel was easy. The hotel itself has modern décor. The staff were 100% excellent, from check in, who were chirpy and friendly, to the waiting on staff who chatted and advised on the food choices. The chef who made us dinner after the kitchen had been closed for the night, as we finished our event so late. I had salmon stir fry that was really tasty. However, at least they do display some high standards in important areas, so you don't feel like you're being ripped off too much. Bed and pillow quality was very good, so I slept extremely well. Stayed here overnight whilst flying out of London city. The hotel is in a nice location with a view over the water and the cable cars which light up at night. Parking is great right at the back of the hotel, the room was good and shower ok with soap dispenser and white company Individuals, the swimming pool was a little small so did not use it. A great building, stylish atmosphere - and a number of smart arrangements in my room have set my expectations to a high level. The good: 2x Power supplies next to the bed, in good reach, 2x USB chargers, one adaptor to match Mini USB, Lightning and older iPhones. Great! Business travellers love that. The bad: Location. Right next to LCY airport, planes take off right above your head. Extreeeemely noisy! No way to get to sleep when windows are opened. The other bad: Poor service. Unfriendly r... Read more

Three night stay as working at ExCel First night are in restaurant, main course arrived before starter, went back, main course was disgusting when it did arrive. Vegetarian burger obviously deep fried as soggy with oil. Second night ordered room service; menu shows a salmon and endame starter could be a main course which I ordered. Arrived as a starter after waiting 40 minutes for it Third night; there's a wedding reception. Thank you for the ear plugs in the room but this should have been ... Read more

I visited Crown Plaza Docklands for my other half's birthday. After initially having a problem at check-in over what room I wanted everything was really nice. We got balloons in the room with a plate of treats. We also visited the spa which was really quiet and relaxing. The pool is wonderful and the spa staff are happy to assist you with anything. The only annoying little bit is you have to request for a robe and it does not come with slippers like their website states.

I am familiar with the Crowne Plaza chain and choose this hotel for three reasons: 1) proximity to specific site, 2) smoking rooms available, and 3) on-site restaurant. I was unfamiliar with the area and traveling with my smoker husband so these were important features. I was expecting something...less; you know - a budget hotel good only for sleeping and showers. What I got was absolute excellence! Friendly staff (anything need we had was met and with absolute courteous); clean, comfy, smo... Read more

We stopped at the Crowne Plaza on Saturday 1 Oct for a one night stay. Docklands is a Lovely quiet area. The front of the hotel overlooks the dockside and this is the view from our room which was lovely. It is close to the millennium dome(02) ExCel conference centre and DLR lines into central London. Our room was clean, quiet and in good decorative order. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Unfortunately we had a fire alarm at 1am. This turned out to have been set off because someone ... A very late review as this was during my stay last October (2015) before I began actively writing reviews on TripAdvisor. As an IHG Platinum member, this hotel has to be my most comfortable stay ever. Greeted warmly after a long drive from Newcastle, I was upgraded to a room with a view of the O2 and Emirates Skyride for free. I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. It is located only minutes from London's City Airport. This was the only downside to the stay. The takeoff pattern is directly over the hotel but thankfully the air traffic dies down at night and ends by 10pm or so. It does start up by 6am, though. This wasn't an issue for me as the times coincide with my sleep patterns. I wouldn't recommend for families with children who are still taking naps. The hotel is very clean and tidy. Stopped here for 3 nights whilst partaking in a show at the excel. What you'd expect really, nothing special. There were gym & swimming facilities but I didn't use these. The restaurant was good. Plenty of choice for breakfast & the place was very clean & tidy. There was some confusion over the payment of my room & payment of 'extras' although I didn't have any. But they got there in the end! All in all it was a clean, fresh & pleasant stay.

My first visit to this particular Crowne Plaza, and my last. The location was ideal for access to the Excel centre, but the cost for what you get, appears a little unbalanced. The restaurant wasn't great, and room service was okay. Very disappointed, we have stayed here in the past for the O2 tennis event and have had no complaints, however on this trip took three attempts to get the room we booked, towels for all three days were frayed and needed to be replaced and complimentary water bottles were not sealed and clearly had been accessed by a previous guest. The hotel would probably get a higher rating from me in that the Hotel is close to the DLR, the staff are friendly and the rooms are spacious. Similarly the overnight bed and breakfast rate is reasonable for London. The hotel also has a spa and pool area. The reason for my "average" rating is that as soon as you walk into the hotel you get the very faint smell of the pool (i.e. Chlorine). I was also able to smell it in the hallway on the 3rd floor.
