The hotel is well located, just a few minutes away from Kensington High Street and the tube station, as well as Kensington Gardens and Holland Park if you're up for a stroll. The staff is helpful, the room was clean, and breakfast selection was larger than average. It's quite pricey, but still one of the cheaper options for the area.

Rooms, facilities and food all at a high standard, though check-in can be slow due to customer volumes and, at times, few reception staff. My main complaint is that if you're cycling the only bike stand is round the back under a stairwell, presumably for staff - a very depressing area to expect customers to go. I've written to the hotel and will update this review if it installs a bike stand in front. I would have thought that Millennium would want to make a stronger environmental and health st... Read more

Hotel condition: From the outside: wow, the 2nd ugliest building in London (#1 is a building in Waterloo facing Thames) Entrance hall: nice, no complaints Elevators: rubbish, card never works -> depressive Room: size is great but got long in the tooth, bathroom is ok, pillows are awful (stiff neck guaranteed), walls are paper thin -> you could easily start a conversation with your neighbors The Trap: if you get a room facing the tube tracks, say goodbye to any sleep!! overpriced for a very standard small double room, noisy fridge, trains rumbling past and access to the Internet was an additional charge, which is ridiculous in this day and age and particularly when you are paying the top end of the market rates! its rooms are very basic indeed. The staff were extremely busy but were pleasant enough, I think as it was so busy, they just get through what has to be done. I will not be in a hurry back here.

We booked a superior room on the 7th floor well in advance for 4 nights at a very good price . They suggested an upgrade for an additional £50 a night which we declined. The room was great and a good size for London. Excellent location , 5 minutes to Kensington High Street an tube. We went to a superb restaurant ,Chez Patrick's , a short walk away. What really spoiled this for us was the abysmal Wi-Fi service , I don't believe hotels realise how important this is from a business and personal ... Read more

This was my second time staying at the Copthorne Tara Hotel London. It is in a fantastic location tucked away in a quiet street, but only a five minute walk from High Street Ken and a few minutes more to Kensington Gardens & Palace. I would stay here again in a heartbeat because of the location and neighborhood. Only recommendation is that the rooms could use some updating!

We had stayed at the Copthorn Tara before and enjoyed the experience so when the price came in cheaper for a night than a Travelodge we leapt at the chance. Unbelievably on this trip we had an upgrade to Club Class - only two in two hundred in the draw apparently. This made things even better with complimentary drinks and breakfast in the Club Executive Lounge and a larger 11th floor room overlooking the city. Fantastic. As ever the room was clean, the staff great and it was quiet and the bed su... Read more

We had so many problems in our one week stay: 1. We arrived at 6am, left out bags and when we came back at 4pm to check in, we were told that we can't have the hotel's one and only presidential suite which we booked and fully prepaid in advance because the previous guest has not vacated. Wouldn't any hotel just move their bags and vacate the room whenever there is an overstayed guest? Well not this one! So my parents who were in the UK for a special trip had to get downgraded for a night and the... Read more

My wife and I recently stayed at Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington and had a wonderful experience over 5 days/ 4 nights. The first thing to say is "don't judge a book by its cover". At first glance I thought that the building needed a demolition job. We were on a bit of a budget and we were in suburban London and it was not costing us, "an arm and a leg", In fact we paid $850 Australian dollars, which was very respectable for staying walking distance to Central London. Unprepossessing looking high-rise block with a large number of rooms. The one we stayed in looked a little tired and dated, but was clean and had everything we needed. Staff were very friendly and helpful, so all in all felt this was reasonable value for money, though would have preferred something a little less bland and featureless.

I stayed 2 nights and it was my second stay in this hotel. The location is excellent in a nice area close to Kensington High Street. I was in a Club room on 12th floor with a great view. Rooms in this hotel are large compared to other hotels in London in same price range. The cleaning of the room could have been better - dusty TV-screen and stains on the inside of the window. The Copthorne Tara was an excellent choice for our trip to London. In the Kensington area, great location for trips into the city. Next to a Tube station and convenient to Royal Albert Hall and many other sights. Would recommend a Club room as it gives you access to free breakfast and the concierge lounge. In a world where every teenager feels that wifi is a human right and every adult recognizes the essentialness of communications, Copthorne represents the antichrist. The wifi is best in the lobby and therein it is unreliable for more than 5 minutes. Beware traveller that needs to communicate, unless of course you are prepared to use their blankets to send smoke signals!

The hotel overall was great. However, the bed was small for a club room. On top of that we ordered an extra bed (we were three in a Club room) so the room was extremely small. The location is great, you have easy access to places for breakfast, the metro, boots and some shopping shops like M&S and H&M There is a great man by the doors his name is Mohamed, he is always willing to hell!

The hotel is very close to Kensington High Street tube station. That's not very obvious - so a useful piece of traveller advice :) The reception area is beautiful. Staff are excellent - really has the feel of a luxury hotel. I was upgraded to a suite on the top floor. Only there for one night, briefly - so didn't use any other facilities. I'd happily stay again on business.

Stayed here for 2 nights and found it was ideally located for getting into central London, less than a 5 minute walk to the tube. It was easy to get on to many of the different tube lines. The room was pretty average.. The information booklet was not very informative about what was available for breakfast. We had a lovely buffet breakfast but we had been lead to believe that an a la carte menu was available. We were happy to pay £11 but had we only wanted cereal this wouldn't have been ideal. ... Spent a night in this hotel, and for London standards, the room was pretty decent in size. The lobby is busy with tourists at any time of the day so it can be noisy and packed with limited couches to sit on. What I did like about the hotel is their concierge service. Very easy to deal with for luggage that we needed to have them keep while we were out going about before checking in and after checking out the next day. This service was superb! The only good thing about this hotel is its location. Its shabby & dirty & in desperate need of refurbishment. The staff were hopeless & some could barely speak or understand english. The Management was just as bad. Our first night we were place in a very small room with two single beds & handicap facilities. We were moved to a club room after that however the room very ordinary. I should have stayed at Kensington Close across the road.

All staff polite and helpful but particularly Gintile on reception who had a great sense of humour to cope with three guys who were forever talking. Upgraded to club and facilities good. Complimentary drinks in club bar in the evening were limited but staff member made it an nice experience although wine was not the best quality. I stayed here for one night on 2nd August. Check in was nice and quick and the room was a good size with all the usual amenities (although I was missing hand soap). Had dinner in the restaurant and went for the Italian meal deal which was £13.50 for a main and a drink. Be aware that 10% of your bill is automatically added on as a service charge (I really hate restaurants that do this). Shower was very good, bed was very comfortable so a good nights sleep was had.
