Clean hotel, comfy beds, friendly staff, fantastic location. The shower is in the room and the toilets are shared, but I've never had to wait. There's only a little humming noise from either the plumbing or the heating, but that doesn't affect sleep quality.

Stayed at the hotel for a city break. Pros: Great location in Bloomsbury. Excellent large clean room, better than some more expensive alternatives. Quiet, overlooking grounds so very little noise at night, very comfortable bed. Cons: Can't think of any. Overall: Would definitely stay again whilst in London. Has it all whilst having a homely feel to the place.

First, the good points: staff was extremely friendly and helpful; we appreciated that. The room itself was large and comfortable, with a good space for work separate from sitting, visiting, etc. That feature was of particular value to us. Location is excellent. The neighborhood is quiet and calm, very pleasant. Nearby parks are charming. Several attractive restaurants available without even having to cross a street-- very convenient indeed. The down sides? No elevator (lift) was the bigg... Read more

We booked a double room with a shared bathroom. The location of the hotel is great-just 300 metres from the British Museum. The room was spacious and clean. The furniture and bedding of good quality. There was a kettle, some teabags, coffee, milk and sugar in the room which was a nice thing after a day of sightseeing . The room had a flat TV, a hair-dryer and a receptionist gave us a UK/European adaptor plug so we could recharge our mobiles. It's closer to Russel Square underground station.

It's in the center of London, next door to the British Museum and less than 10 minutes walk to the underground station. The entire place is decorated with English tradition, the room was cozy althought a bit small, but what can you say with this location. The only shortcoming is there's no lift.

The Hotels location was excellent. It is 5 minutes walk from British Museum, and within a circle of half an hour walk to several attractions, such as Oxford street (for shopping), Trafalgar Square(Admiral Nelson Statue) and National Art Gallery, Soho area (for theatres/musicals and restaurants and food). I think there were 2 subway stations within 7-10 mins walk from the hotel. Stuff was friendly and helpful. Helped me to print few pages, I needed, with no charges. Room was clean, and spacious,... It is always a pleasure to stay here, the staff are very friendly and the hotel is clean and comfortable with all the facilities we require. Whilst being very convenient for places like the British Museum and the west end it's only draw back is the lack of a lift. Although staff are always on hand should anyone need assistance with luggage to the upper floors. Part of a group we have stayed in several of the town house hotels which are close by and have always received the same level of service ... Read more

Where do I start? On arrival I was told that my front facing room was affected by ongoing work (scaffolding), but as a good will gesture I get one free drink. I let this go and all was fine. When I got to the room I had no view at all and I had to find out in a letter that work will be carried out from 5am -7pm each day and I may hear some noise. Yep, they were correct on that account. Noise from the early hours and workmen right outside my second floor room. I was unable to sleep in and u felt... Read more

We spent a weekend at this hotel celebrating a special birthday. Although the location was good, that's about the only thing good about this place. First of all, we could barely find the place as the whole front was covered in scaffolding. Secondly, when we get assigned a room, we find three builders in there, talking and smoking. We were assigned a new room and walked in to find yet another two builders in that one as well. They left fairly quickly, but it made us feel very uncomfortable that... Read more

I booked via the Internet and received a confirmation email very quickly. Really simple and straightforward However on arrival I found that I had been upgraded to the sister hotel across the room. Now this was code for either we are undergoing refurbishment or we've double booked - I couldn't be sure which. A simple email telling me that I had to run across the road would have been useful and saved the poor girl behind the desk having to tell a hungry tired guest that he had to go elsewhere T...
