i had a room book for 2 nights and i was very happy to begin with but image my shock when i got back to the room at 10pm on my first night to find a drunk stranger on my bed. He was out for the count but he gave me the biggest fright! Luckily my two friends came up to the room to pick something up and i wasnt alone! i called reception, when the manager turned up and he was a bit speechless but took the gentleman away. i took my bags and went down to reception as i didnt want to sleep on that bed.... My husband and I stayed for one night in the Radisson Blu Liverpool, for a weekend away. The hotel itself is a short walk (20 mins) away from the main shopping/eating/bars that Liverpool has to offer, and we had a very friendly welcome when checking in. There was a bit of a smell within the lobby, which seemed as though it was coming from either the toilets, or the beer lines in the bar needed flushing. We came back to the hotel after our evening out, about 12:30am, and didn't notice the smell a... Read more

This hotel is well located to walk around Liverpool to see the major attractions of the city. Liverpool is an interesting city with contrasting old and new buildings. Really enjoyed the 2 cathedrals which although around the same age are completely different styles. Allow at least 2 hours for the Beatles Museum and wear comfortable shows - a lot of standing.

Booked at last minute, very good value room at £79, for the above purpose. Hotel in the new business area down by the docks. Nice and quiet. I arrived at 12 noon but was able to check in but only for a landside room. Room quite OK with a large very comfortable bed on 8th floor. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Easy to walk to Albert Dock for the Tate etc. A bit further to walk to the city centre for the Walker but only 15 mins or so. I didn't eat in the hotel (breakfast at £15.75 seemed a litt... Read more

First the positives. Reasonable rates, and large rooms, with very comfortable beds and a decent sized desk to work at. Check-in staff were also very polite. The breakfast was average though - not a very inspiring buffet breakfast (not much better than you can get at some budget hotels). However, I was disappointed with the little details that stops it being more than a 3 star review. For a start, no biscuits with the tea and coffee in the room. The so-called high speed wi-fi is anything bu... Read more

First impressions were very good, we got there about half 12 and knew we couldn't check in until 3pm so just went to reception to ask if we could drop our bags so we could go shopping. The room service is useful, but sometimes slow in providing all you need from the first time. I felt the staff at Reception rather lacked understanding and training of what hospitality is all about. I felt they really give you the cold shoulder and appear to be rather disinterested in impressing you. The room size was reasonable; and the room itself was clean, neat and had a comfortable bed. The ventilation, however, was poor; there is no functioning window - only glass - and the air condition... Read more

There are parking lots nearby that you have to use if you can't valet at the hotel. Aside from the rooms and the lobby, the hotel is a bit worn. This is the second Radisson Blu hotel we have had the pleasure to stay at when we traveling through the UK, and like the first hotel we stayed at, this one was an excellent experience. While I was not a particular fan of the artwork in our room, it did keep in theme with Liverpool's fame as the birthplace of the Beetles. The Ups: The hotel is nice, clean and well situated. Rooms were a reasonable size with plenty of storage space and we had a good view over the water. Breakfast was plentiful and served until late in the day. The Downs: The wifi was extremely spotty and unreliable. The cobbled space directly outside the front entrance to the hotel needs urgent attention. When I was there, litter, cigarette butts and a greenish algae covered the area and made the place look rather down at heel.

My partner and I stayed here on a Friday, we often stay in budget hotels for city breaks, but as we were visiting for a special occasion we decided to treat ourselves to something a bit more upmarket! I consider the Rassison Blu name to be associated with luxury and so we were happy to pay a higher price as we expected a nice hotel room and great customer service. The reception and communal areas seemed well looked after and impressive whilst we checked in with a really friendly staff member. ... Read more

We were staying with friends and we each had a good well appointed room with plenty of soft fluffy towels and lashings of hot water. A telephone was on the wall right alongside the toilet bowl, obviously for emergencies but hardly hygienic. The evening meal was good, but why put a notice warning of hot plates when the plates were cold. The same thing happened at breakfast. Although a good choice of food was available, by the time we returned to our table the food was cold and there was also a lo... Read more

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. We booked through booking.com and got a very good rate. Our rooms were clean and spacious. We weren't overlooking Mersey but then I hadn't requested this, so don't know if possible. We had a medical emergency and the staff were fantastic. The reason I'm not giving 5/5 is simply because I found the decor very sterile. The hotel had a very clinical feel about it. I visited this hotel for a business meeting, so can only report on the public rooms. The Radisson is situated in the commercial district of the city, about 10 minutes walk from the main shops and close to the Pier Head waterfront. There is a relaxed, upmarket feel about the place, with a comfortable lounge bar area and more private seating in a small, much older lodge attached at the front. This adds some character to an otherwise typically late 20th Century design. There are 9 meeting rooms a... Read more

Stayed here to see The Jam exhibition in Liverpool this weekend. Our room was very clean but the facilities are a bit tired, furniture and fixtures showing wear and tear in bathroom and leather chair in room. Other hotels in city offer better value for money, but location offers good access to City Centre, look out for £25 parking charge. Titantic Hotel has a better breakfast.

Wasn't really impressed with the place, when you're paying over £100 a night the least to expect is a fridge with a few bottles of Beer in it. Too much to ask as the fridge was broke! Also one of the reading lights was broke. If you're on the wrong side of the hotel you'll have a view of a horrible office block, the cards we was issued never worked in the lifts and one of them wouldn't even open the Hotel door. After a 5 hour journey I arrived to be told I had no room booked. So had to show my reservation confirmation in order to prove I wasn't lying. The hotel had cancelled my booking by mistake. Eventually this got sorted out but only because they had rooms available. I then asked about disabled parking and was told there was space beneath the hotel at £25/night (bargain). Five minutes later I was then told there wasn't a space. Amazingly, a couple of minutes later there was a space!! So after 20 fr... Read more

What can I say about this hotel? room was on first appearance actually quite nice but there were a lot of other issues. I ordered room service, an hour later I phoned to see where my order was, it hadn't been ordered, I eventually received my order after two hours of waiting. The parking issue is nonsense and extortionate, £25 a night!! During my stay I witnessed someone vomiting near my room on the 5th floor, there was also a strong smell of cannabis wafting around on the 5th floor. The ro... Read more

Stayed one night for work. Plenty of restaurants nearby and walking distance from the Cavern and other bars. The room was big, the down fall was the bathroom, mildew around the bath, shower not powerful at all. Tea/ coffee making facilities in room with only 2 uht milk cartoons for the stay, had a non working fridge wasn't too bothered as was not in room much due to work. Breakfast plentiful, scrambled eggs a let down.

Due to the bedrooms being on open level floors you constantly hear noise. One couple where arguing for 2 hours , we rang reception no reply, and no night guards on duty to rectify the situation. Spoke to reception this morning and have received an unsatisfactory reply from the manager . Save your money there are plenty of fab hotels in Liverpool to stay in at the same price and this is not one of them. I would never stay here again unless I didn't want to sleep. No fridges where working and we... Read more

Stayed here as a group of 5 lads to see the football. We booked this hotel as a last resort as it's really difficult to get accommodation on match days so ended up having to spend more than we planned - £100 pp with no breakfast. It's a really nice hotel in a good location but just didn't match our needs which would be more 'cheap and cheerful' with a hearty breakfast to send us on our way. This place would be good if you're visiting the city as a couple or on business maybe. Bar is expensive t... Read more

Stayed here for two nights to celebrate a birthday. Arrived at 12.30pm and room was ready, reception staff lovely and helpful. Room had rubbish view of office buildings so we couldn't even have curtains open! Cigarette burn on carpet and bedside table. Mould on bathroom tile sealant, fridge not working and smelly! Had to ask on two separate occasions for tea bags, the TV was really dated and not very good quality picture. No bath robes. Very overpriced! To be honest I've stayed in better mainta... Read more

Wish I had remembered her name to give her a mention but the trainee receptionist was very helpful. Once we arrived she helped us with quite a few things which may have been fairly minor to her but were quite important to us. The room was excellent, lots of space, large comfortable bed and a great view looking across the river. The tv didn't work at first but that was soon resolved. One complaint I would have though is that the fridge was empty and didn't work so your own drinks couldn't even be... Read more
