3 day conference in Merchant Suite. Very helpful and friendly staff, who met all our requests with a smile. High standard and variety of food. Extra dining stations opened as required to avoid queues. Most delegates suitable impressed. Separate room provided for break out group. Beautiful displays and interesting snacks at every break, with local interest (lambananas, Liverpool/Everton cup cakes, mango tarts and smoothies, Beatles display with strawberry fields tarts, and always background music... Stayed for one Saturday night last weekend and considering we paid £255 found the whole experience decidedly "average". The hotel itself is very dated and lags well behind more modern offerings from it's rivals. There is still too much dark brown wood and 1990's décor for it to be deemed cutting edge. As others have commented one of the lifts was out of use and we had to use the stairs most of the time. Not a problem for us but would have been had we had mobility problems, particularly as th... We stayed here for a hen weekend. We had two rooms. The rooms were ok but the general feeling was the hotel were a bit tight on milk, biscuits etc. The Wifi wasn't great in our rooms either. We were put really faraway from each other too. The phones didnt work and when I told reception he told me there wasn't a problem but there was as we called reception 10+ times and there was no answer. The day we left 'Ronnie' turned it all round for us (Concierge). He was so pleasant and funny. We left on a... Read more

Went to Liverpool specifically to see an exhibition at the Walker Gallery.  A few minutes walk from Lime Street station, the Marriott could not be better placed.  Minor irritations included some tatty furniture, no fridge and broken bathroom fittings; the hotel is mid-way through renovations. You only get a bathrobe in the more expensive rooms (do they really want people walking through the  lobby in wet Speedos?). But all made up for by the very friendly staff, who found a robe and sorte... Read more

Not a huge hotel, just right for us and well-situated. The public areas were attractive and both these and our bedroom were clean. We felt that the bedroom would be ready for a face lift soonish; curtains, carpet and furnishings were showing signs of wear and tear. The staff were helpful and courteous. Our room wasn't ready on our (early) arrival but the reception staff were happy to keep our bags secure whilst we left the hotel. We received a call to let us know the room was ready in the early ... The Liverpool Marriott remains one of my favourite Marriotts. The pluses are: 1. Extremely friendly and helpful staff for whom nothing is too much trouble 2. Good sized rooms with all necessary amenities, plenty of hanging and drawer space, large safe for laptop, etc, good working space, comfy bed and large bathroom 3. Conveniently located a couple of minutes from Lime St Station, 5 minutes to Central Station and Bus Station on the doorstep 4. In the heart of shopping centre and theatre venues ... Read more

I would highly recommend this hotel for a weekend break. It is situated in the centre of Liverpool but easily reached by car. There is subsidised car parking beside the hotel which is ideal as the car is close by. The hotel is also close to the Lime Street train station. Rooms spacious and clean and the beds extremely comfortable. We weren't disturbed in the night, despite the hotel being busy. The air conditioning was welcome as Liverpool was unseasonably hot last weekend. I stayed at the Marriott last week for a couple of nights with my family. I've stayed in many Marriott hotels before, so I'm always interested to see how they measure up. Ideal location, though area surrounding lime street station is a bit grotty. Parking in multi storey next door not great, but that comes with being in the city centre. Hotel itself is a bit tired and could do with a facelift, only 1 lift working, which takes forever, so we used the stairs (only 5 floors thankfully, and we wer... Read more

OK we've stayed here plenty of times and it's so comfortable. This time, on a Friday night, it was very busy and that busy crowd erupted into the breakfast room. I waited a good half hour before I could get anywhere near the toaster. I suppose it's a measure of the hotels success. What, with all the competion in the city that punters choose to stay with this old girl. We were upgraded to room 515. Very pleasant overlooking St John's Gardens. I used the steam room and it was unusually quiet given... Read more

Large clean room. Bed extremely comfortable. Staff friendly, helpful and everything with a smile. I cannot praise the service enough. The continental breakfast was not really continental but most guests were English and enjoyed their cooked breakfast. The bar offered snacks and was comfortably furnished. The service quick and helpful.

Probably this used to be a nice Marriott hotel - but now it feels a sort of second class Marriott. It feels a bit worn and out of date. Maybe better to make a Marriott Courtyard out of it? The location right in the centre but that is not where it is happening in Liverpool any longer. Better stay near the docks I guess. Sure you will find shops around the corner, but restaurants and things to do tend to be a bit further away. The parking garage is underground. WiFi is not free - which is also so... Read more

The lobby was pretty small, but when I got to the room, I didn't want to leave. I had a whole sofa in there with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was nice, and the spread wasn't too pretentious. Just good old English - cold cuts, eggs, breads, pastries. I love that they let you take out coffee and tea in paper cups. I didn't have much time to check out the sauna but the gym was pretty awesome. There's an outdoor area where I'd sit before my meetings but I wish it was more exclusive to hot... Read more

The hotel is modern and well located for Lime Street railway station and the Walker Art Gallery. Central Liverpool is fairly compact so it's only about a 15 minute walk to the Pier Head and nearby attractions in the docks. Our room was of a good size, was clean and well decorated and the bed was large and comfortable. The Marriott chain of hotels always has some of the best trained staff. And this hotel location was no exception. Everyone was friendly and capable. If you are traveling to Liverpool by train you are only about 150 yards from your destination. I think this is an older hotel and so not quite as fancy as some that we might see in the United States. Pretty much what you would expect from a Marriott but somewhat disappointing restaurant (you are surrounded by restaurants so not really a problem). Central location just a stroll from Lime Street Station, St Georges Hall, etc. On-site parking (additional charge). The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly - enjoyed my stay but don't think that this would be my first option for a "family trip".

I stayed one night at Liverpool Marriott The room on the sixth floor was fine- good view, large enough, comfy bed- I can't complain about that at all. My slight concern was over breakfast. I had to wait a while to be seated, the coffee took so long to arrive I had to chase it up and children were running around and screaming. Not what one needs at breakfast. But its location near the city centre and Lime Street station makes it very convenient.

Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. We came for a short theatre break and travelled by train. To say that this hotel is ideally placed for the station and theatres would be an understatement! Room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Didn't have breakfast here so cannot comment on it (so many places to eat nearby that are cheaper!). Went to the Marriott for afternoon tea with my two sisters. Very disappointed. For each of us here were three very slim finger sandwiches with not much choice of filling i.e. tuna sweetcorn, chicken sweetcorn, coronation chicken. I think the three sandwiches only amounted to one slice of bread each. Then the cakes were very small wedges of chocolate cake, almond cake and another custard type wedge. We chose the hotel for the location, as it is very central in Liverpool and close to many of the attractions and nice areas around the city.
