From Liverpool originally we have stayed at this hotel a lot over the past 9 years whenever we are in town. The service was up to its usual standard. Particular mention to the young barman and sommelier who know their stuff and give great service. Also the food from the restaurant is worthy of top marks. Room was spotless and the quality linen a joy. Only gripe was the room was very warm. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

We booked this hotel after reading so many good reviews of it, and we were not disappointed. The location is perfect, in the quieter part of the city, but within easy walking distance of the major attractions and about equidistant from the two cathedrals. The hotel is not large and is modern, clean and stylish. The staff are most welcoming and helpful but unobtrusive. The bar and restaurant are lively but relaxing. The rooms are very well-equipped, the beds most comfortable, the toiletries of go... Read more

Only stayed here for one night but it was a lovely experience. Our room was great - quite large, I think it was a superior one - the bathroom was a great size with separate bath and shower which I prefer. Thoughtful things like different types of pillows and good quality toiletries made a difference too. Had drinks in the bar at night which had a nice atmosphere and breakfast in the morning was good. Didn't try out any treatments as no time but would another time. Staff friendly.

Came here as a birthday gift from my partner... Its got to be the best and most gorgeous hotel we have stayed in... Clean, Modern and simple yet gorgeous. The bath tub is absolutely huge and soooo deep (AMAZING)! There's no noise too and the bed was to die for! Definitely worth getting the 2 floor suite <3

Unfortunately our stay was rather fleeting, having arrived straight from work on Friday evening and leaving after breakfast on the Saturday. We booked the Hope Street hotel as we were seeing Bill Bailey at the Philharmonic Hall - he was brilliant by the way! Anyway check in was easy and very quick, hats off to Ella who even showed us to our 'complimentary upgraded room' and offered to show how everything worked! I'd had an enjoyable stay here a few years ago and rebooked for Easter Thursday evening with my husband. On arrival after a long drive, the bar and dining areas were closed due to a Wedding, and reception offered us a drink in a rather small side room. We opted to go out. Apparently they rarely have weddings though other trip advisor reviews would suggest otherwise. Coming back to the room around 11, music was thumping and after asking reception they said it wouldn't stop until midnight Ok, s... Read more

My husband booked hope street for my birthday. I love liverpool and can't recommend the city enough! But this hotel was well over priced! Desk service was poor, with one of the girls behind the desk being a bit loud and obnoxious. The room was ok, very clean ( except for empty whiskey bottle under the sink). We paid for the delux and apart from bathrobes in the wardrobe not sure what else added to this. Every time you moved in the bed it made a massive noise ( we aren't overweight) like it was ... A party of four of us went to Liverpool to see Brain Wilson at the Liverpool Philharmonic and stayed in two rooms at the Hope Street Hotel. From first stepping through the door our experience was fantastic. The staff, without exception, were friendly and helpful. The rooms were large with everything you could ask for in a top hotel. With it being directly across the street from the venue it couldn't be more convenient. Perhaps that is why Brian Wilson's band stayed there too.

Having had the most fantastic stay here at Christmas (2015) - when we needed somewhere to stay for a night in Liverpool for a visit to an elderly Aunt who was unwell, this was the obvious choice. I attended a conference at this hotel so spent three full days in there. The food was delicious, but a little bit convoluted in its description and some meals were massive and others reasonably sized, which made eating in a group a weird experience as some were super full and others dying for pudding. The room was nice, clean, they do offer breakfast a tad pricey for breakfast though. A bit of a walk from Liverpool One and a taxi ride to the dock. The room was right above the bar . Playing loud music. You won't be able to sleep until the bar closes and the people have left. If you like to party it would be a great place. We asked for directions and we were given a map and she highlighted all the routes we should take for the various places we needed to go to. Once we returned much later in the... Read more

Yes, just across the road, so a 30 second walk to the venue. Open air public car parking just a few minutes away; £10 overnight and the bird poo comes free! The hotel itself is lovely with really helpful and friendly staff. We had a King Deluxe room with good views across the city, good quality bedlinen and towels with slippers and bathrobes provided. Huge comfortable bed. Bathroom/wetroom was great but decor could do with a bit of a attention - room 420 - e.g. vanity unit doors didn't clo... Read more

We took advantage of the family package on offer at Hope Street, my husband and I and our 3 children thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms, bathrooms, facilities, breakfast and staff were all exemplary. Thinking of booking again before the end of the summer holidays. Thank you Hope Street for your high standards of guest care, nothing was too much trouble and you made us very welcome. Highly recommended.

Came here for a 2 night weekend stay and booked via Secret Escapes. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who told us all we needed to know. Our room was on the 3rd floor and exceeded our expectations - a huge kingsize bed (2 singles pushed together) and a really lovely bathroom with a monsoon shower. Really gorgeous exposed brick wall and wooden floors gave the room a really rustic and homey feel. Only slight downside was our window looked out on to an equally as tall office block wit... As before booked a good value Sunday night deal (DB&B). Rooms are very well appointed and if you upgrade, very spacious although some design slip ups such as a mirror positioned far too low. We had problems with the booking for the LCW dinner and barman could only be termed surly. Very understaffed on Monday morning so a late breakfast became a very late departure. Luckily not under time pressures. Good when it arrived.

We stayed here for our anniversary and really loved the room. The rain shower was a particular highlight. Location was great; walking distance to everything we wanted to see/do. The only down side was I didn't sleep a wink because of the rain. We were in a room where the rain hit the window ledge so loud all night that I couldn't sleep through it - even with home made ear plugs. It's a shame they didn't invest in better double glazing/window frames as it would have been five stars from me i... Read more

Highly recommend this hotel. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with great decor. Situated in a fantastic location, with very friendly staff. Probably one of my favorite hotels I've stayed in, just down to the feel of the place and all the little details. Very cool without being portentous. Loved it! We only stayed over for one night and had our little girl with us, which they were very accommodating about - very family friendly. However we will most certainly be returning (child free) and make goo... Read more

We paid £70 for a deluxe king and requested a quiet room if possible. The hotel is in a popular area , check in was ok and at first glance the room was great. Must say the views from the 3rd floor room (320) was incredible except for the building work taking place next to the back of the hotel ! The bathroom was also incredible (massive bath and monsoon shower, however the parquet flooring was very noisy when walked on and the bed (although comfortable) was also creaky. Now for the worst part A... Read more

My wife and I stayed here for one night. We enjoyed it so much, we plan to return shortly. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and extremely comfortable. It location is convenient to all the sights in Liverpool. The rates are extremely reasonable and a fantastic breakfast is included. The restaurant is lovely and all of the food is great. We can't wait to get back.

My wife and I stayed in a suite as a birthday treat. Check in was straightforward, staff very pleasant. We had to park in the nearby Philharmonic Car Park as the hotels was full, but given the location that was fine. Our room was on the top floor, very spacious and close to the lift. Stunning views over the city, and with the Sky Lights open a nice breeze throughout the room. The bathroom was stunning , however the main issue I had was the room being quite 'tired' and in need or renovation, es... Read more

Stayed one night with my wife and daughters for a aniversary treat, we arrived early and got a car park space at the back, we left our bags which where put in our room for when we checked in at three. All the staff where fantastic with my kids and where very helpful and friendly. We had the only balcony at the front on the third floor which the kids loved! The room and bathroom was in perfect condition and I honestly couldn't find any faults, (my 6 yr old did point out there was no chocolate in... Read more

I have stayed at the hope street hotel on and off for the past 11 years. I have always found it to be very pleasant, however I feel it is now in need of a makeover/refurb. I stayed in room 122 on this occasion which was tired at best - old bathroom, no mini bar and faulty air con. Liverpool, like many cities in the uk have an abundance of quality boutique style 4* hotels, sadly this no longer falls into this bracket anymore! Ps lovely friendly attentive and non intrusive staff!

I have stayed at the HSH a lot over the past 5 years both with my husband and by myself. We also had our wedding reception here which was wonderful. This time my lovely husband booked a night for me to catch up on some sleep and have a little peace and quiet after a hectic few months. Reception staff were lovely and helpful, bar staff super professional and polite and the breakfast served in my room was perfect. I slept like a log; a truly fabulous escape only minutes from home in our wonderfu... Read more

This place is just wow. The attention to detail screams luxury, but the pricing was surprisingly reasonable. Its not a great part of town (yet), but definitely up and coming. The staff were helpful but not too intrusive. A very relaxing stay. Keep it up, and I will definitely be back.

We have recently stayed at Hope Street Hotel in Liverpool, and it was a really lovely little hotel. We travelled by train and the hotel is a short 10-15 minutes from Liverpool Lime Street station. We did walk past the hotel initially - it is right opposite Moose & Moonshine. Arriving before the check-in time, we popped into reception and asked if we could leave our bags somewhere. They obliged and allowed us to leave them in the luggage room. As we wanted to pay be debit card we did have to pay... Read more

This is a really boutique hotel. Cunningly designed and conveniently located, with comfortable rooms, it makes for a very attractive hotel. My only complaints were slightly slow bar service and moderately noisy rooms on Hope Street. If you want a good hotel with a bit of privacy then this could be just the place for you.

I have been staying in this hotel since it opened over 12 years ago. As usual the service was excellent. Staff all friendly and helpful. Their beds are the most comfortable hotel beds in the world. Pillows are feather which are lovely and soft. The bathroom has a shower and a barh with lovely Ren products to use. Breakfast is always of a high standard. This is independently owned and stands out from the big chains. I can highly recommend this hotel.

This is a nice hotel within easy walking distance of Liverpool City Centre. Room comfortable and very well equipped BUT and its a big one - value for money in both the bar and restaurant is extremely poor. Food quality reasonable but a cost of £60 for one person is not good value as is £6 for a small bottle of cider Service at breakfast appalling with a 45 min wait and poor excuses - again not cheap at £16.50 for breakfast I wasn't paying but if I was I would have complained more than I... My wife and I were celebrating our 2nd anniversary on 29th Aug 2016 and had booked to stay in this hotel as it is one of our favourites. We had booked a studio room under the advanced booking scheme in April. When we arrived at the hotel they informed us that due to a computer glitch the payment for the room had not been taken in April 2016 so the booking had not been processed in full. As this was a special occasion the hotel apologised for this error and advised us that they had upgraded us t... Read more

An excellent independent hotel. Room very comfortable especially the beds. The young staff were helpful friendly and enthusiastic. There was a good atmosphere in the bar which like the restaurant The Old Carriage Works was well decorated and furnished. Breakfast was copious. This hotel really works. So much better than a drab chain.

A colleague and I stayed at the Hope Street Hotel for one night. I had amazing views from my room, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The only "negative" comment is that I could not figure out the taps in the shower and nearly drenched myself ??? The staff were friendly and helpful, recommending a restaurant around the corner where we had a wonderful meal. If I have the opportunity to return to Liverpool, I would definitely want to spend it at this hotel, and hopefully for more than ... Read more

We stayed here when we visited Liverpool to watch the Reds against Stoke. It just so happened that it was also the weekend of the grand national so the hotel was extremely expensive and busy but tickets to Anfield are hard to come by so we take them when we can! The hotel itself is very nice with a cool restaurant and bar area. The room was tiny (really tiny) and was a bit of a maze to find. Also, for some reason the temperature of the water in the shower was set to blindingly hot and couldn't... Read more

Three cheers for independent boutique hotels. It's not easy to get noticed in a world of large international chains, but this hotel does a brilliant job. Funky, well-appointed and bright rooms with nice exposed brick detailing, hardwood floors and great bathrooms. I liked everything. The cable TV offering was probably the most extensive that I have come across (Sky Sports AND BT Sports, for instance). Pretty decent breakfast too; you get both the buffet and a choice of mains for £16.50, which i... Read more

We wanted a hotel close to the university as we were moving her in this weekend. What a lovely, stylish hotel and a short walk to her halls of residence. Easy to get parked outside the hotel despite a million other parents also dropping their kids off. The room was huge, beautifully decorated and peaceful. The only difficulty was finding the place, it's minimalistic exterior made it really difficult to spot on the street despite us standing directly opposite it.
