The hotel is very convenient - being across from Liverpool Lime Street Station, and with direct access to the main shopping malls in the city centre. The dock area is just a stroll through the shopping area - probably a 15 minute walk, if you don't stop to look at the shops. The hotel itself is set out well. Breakfast is served with a lovely view across to the station where you can watch the world go by. The main selling point for the hotel is the staff. Every member of staff that we came ac... Read more

Hopefully, for future guests, my experience was a one off. I booked the hotel at short notice not having been in the city centre for a while and had hoped for better. In every way this is a hotel stuck in a 1970's time warp. The nearby multi story car park ,which allows discounted parking, is above a budget chain dominated shopping mall. I would not like to have walked to and from my car if I was a female or a frail person travelling alone. The room I was in was tired but clean and comfortable.... Read more

The Holiday Inn is a perfect location if you arrive by train to Liverpool. If you want to look at the dock then it's about a 15 minute walk. This hotel is ok but not great. What I liked..... We came to visit Liverpool in March half term to get a feel of the city as this is where my first choice uni is situated and it reminded me why I feel in love with Liverpool in the first place. This hotel is finished to an extremely high standard and service is second to none. It is situated across the road from Liverpool Lime street which made it extremely easy to get to and it is a great location to walk to plenty of shops (Liverpool One) and a nice stroll to the docks. Having lived in Liverpool for 4 years of never used or had anyone use the holiday inn. Having used it myself now I can highly recommend it. The room was nice and clean and the bed was fantastic. It didn't give me any grief and I had a decent night sleep with no back pain in the morning. The view was also from room simply gorgeous out over the main sights of the port of Liverpool you can see the liver building and such (does depend on your room though). The best Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in. The rooms were extremely clean and huge and the Starbucks area on the second floor was perfect for casual meetings. We had a group of mixed ages and disabilities staying for 2 nights. The staff could not have been more helpful and they were all so friendly (even at 6am!). The chef was very accommodating and the food was of a high standard. I would defiantly recommend this hotel to others and we will be going back.

Great central location near Lime Street Station and all the big shopping areas. Nice clean and modern hotel with big spacious rooms and friendly staff. They allowed us to leave our bags after we'd checked out and the free wifi was good. However would not stay again due to noise levels. We were in bed by 10.30pm as we were up very early the next day for Liverpool Rock n Roll Marathon and we knew it wouldn't be quiet so early on a Saturday night but the level of noise was like nothing I've ever h... Ideally located opposite main station. I stayed with my 8 yr old daughter for one night. It was a couple minutes walk to the huge Church Street shops (M&S, Primark etc), and another couple of minutes to Liverpool One shops, cinema etc. The Albert Dock attractions are a pleasant 10 mins walk away. No need for taxis. The hotel was quiet with great facilities, our (standard) room on the 8th floor was ideal with amazing views to the Pier Head and Albert Dock. I had a good stay at the Holiday Inn. The bed was comfortable, good linen and a nice big fluffy towel. The restaurant was well above expectation, the salmon in white wine sauce with crushed potatoes was excellent. The location is extremely handy for Liverpool Lime Street Station. My only complaint was that the wifi was a bit flaky.

We stayed for two nights and were extremely pleased with this hotel. On the 8th floor, the view of Liverpool was spectacular and the hotel is opposite Lime Street station and the Walker gallery. For a Holiday Inn, this hotel doesn't follow the brand standards of other Holiday Inns, thus my conclusion that it's a franchise. Don't expect the usual Holiday Inn standards with this place. However, to be fair, the hotel provided me with a decent and comfortable stay. The location was excellent; as soon as you exit Liverpool Lime Street train station, it's right there! Clean, comfortable, modern hotel in a fantastic location. But only one power outlet in the bedroom ? Really ? I never ate in the hotel as there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The rooms can be a bit noisy but what would you expect from a hotel located in a major city centre and immediately opposite a train station?

This is right across the road from Lime Street train station and on one end of St Johns shopping centre that connects to Liverpool One, so in terms of location it is fantastic. It is also near some of the older more interesting parts of this city. The rooms were comfortable and clean but alas, the hotel itself is not very attractive and arriving at the reception gives you the impression you were coming to a sports centre rather than a hotel. Wifi was free but didn't work very well.

Really good location. Hotel clean and comfortable. Lift. Very friendly and efficient staff. The restaurant was very clean, stylish and modern. Very good food. The only thing we didn't like was the food being served on slate. A nice white china plate would have been more appealing. The car park is in St. Johns Shopping Centre. It was a bit odd, and we didn't realise there was a drop off point outside the hotel which one of us could have taken the luggage into reception before the parking!

At first glance, the location and the journey from the car park do not seem very promising, but please give this hotel a look. The location is great, minutes from the town and the fabulous Bold Street and Liverpool One, but also very close to the Walker Gallery and even the Docks are not far. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, but the jewel in the crown is the staff. They are friendly, helpful and very accommodating. This is our second visit and I will definitely be back.

Having been here before. We booked it again as we booked to go to the Empire theatre to celebrate our anniversary and my up and coming birthday. The second visit was as good as the first. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and a good breakfast. The only recommendation is that you check your cups, tea pots and teaspoons before placing them on the table as they had tea and coffee stains on them that hadn't come off in the dishwasher.
