The company I Work for always uses the Holiday Inn Express in which ever location we are working. This one in Lincoln is very good, excellent friendly, helpful staff. Very good room overlooking the car park. And, and bonus breakfast.....they are trailing bacon for 3 months as HIE do not usually have bacon on the breakfast menu, so 5*.

As neither my wife nor myself had visited Lincoln before and we needed a base for a visit to a relative in Sileby near Leicester, we plumped for the town as one of the stops on our mini road trip. Essentially, we de-risked the choice of hotel by choosing the Holiday Inn express. We had used them before and they are usually of a good standard. Additionally, in the case of Lincoln, the hotel was well located for the centre, for shopping and for ease of travel. We found the hotel fairly easily bu... Read more

We booked a room here through, lots of good reviews plus it was near the city centre which is what we were looking for. No problems parking and booking in which was painless, staff very polite and helpful. The room was clean and tidy, everything worked and the bed was very comfortable. Stayed her for two nights, May bank holiday weekend. Staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite big and spacious, with tea/coffee facilities and a walk in shower. Breakfast was included of which there was plenty of choice and they were trialling bacon, I for one enjoyed as I don't eat sausages. We chose this hotel as it is near the city centre. Great location for business at the University . Lovely spacious room, very comfortable bed with choice of pillows and fabulously friendly and helpful staff. Decent tea bags in the room. A super selection to choose from for breakfast from fruit and cereal through to sausages, scrambled eggs and beans . I was lucky enough to stay during the trial of bacon for breakfast, it was cooked to perfection unlike most hotels where it is left very pink and floppy.

Hotel has obviously been refurbished recently. Decor was good and bathrooms sparkling clean. Typical express hotel with continental breakfast included. A good 10/15 walk to city centre, but if shopping is your thing, then the super stores are bang opposite. Staff were polite and efficient. Plenty of free parking.

We spent two nights at this hotel, primarily to visit Lincoln Cathedral and other points of interest in the city as part of a week of touring this part of England. It is reasonably-priced (for the UK) and walking distance from the Cathedral. As all Holiday Inn Expresses it has a free breakfast (and as all HI Expresses we have stayed in in the UK it offers some choices for dinner). It also has ample parking spaces, although at £5/night.

The hotel of choice whilst visiting our son through his time at the University of Lincoln. slightly tricky to find the exit off the roundabout - our satnav is 2 years old and insisted we were driving across a field to get there. Once you find the car park round the back, the hotel and staff are very welcoming. Comfortable beds, nice shower and good, free, wi-fi. Greeted by really helpful staff, check-in swift and efficient. Room was OK but very cramped when sofa bed was down (couldn't use desk or get to the window). Limited selection for breakfast, both hot and cold and the scambled eggs and sausages are best avoided. Why oh why don't hotels spend a few pence extra on decent sausages and insist on scrambled eggs which don't fare well in a bain marie for hours? But again, the staff were great.
