I train in many locations in the UK and this sets an excellent standard for facilities. The staff are very helpful- especially Mohammed one of the "red coats" and the rest of the team. Delegates are always impressed with the food provided and the location is fantastic due to its central location. It would be eveb better with free high speed wifi in the guest rooms.

If you have a need to go to Leicester, then I would highly recommend this hotel. It is comfortable, well laid out and internally pleasing on the eye. A note of caution is that it is large and does attract large gatherings. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. I had a quad room, but note in America this would be classed as a twin. Food was good. Well designed bar, but lacked a good range of drinks and service was a little slow.

My children received welcome packs and the promise of treats when they visited the reception, atrium bar, restaurant and leisure facilities. They were showered with sweets, drinks and hot chocolate as well as some other free of charge cheeky little extras. They loved it. The pool was lovely. The gym provides extra towels, lockers... I stayed one night for a conference with a group of people but have regularly visited for day conferences. At day events the buffets served are fabulous. I was very disappointed to be given an interior room overlooking the atrium which was dark, claustrophobic and no opening windows. In fact I decided if they wouldn't change it I would drive 30 miles home rather than stay in that horrible space. We took the upgrade we were offered at £25 per night and it was worth it in every way. Modern, spacious, quiet room. Very comfortable bed and use of the executive lounge. Very helpful, friendly staff. We were able to extend the room until 1.30 as we had a late afternoon flight. I really can't think of anything to complain about except perhaps maybe a shower door instead of a curtain round the bath?

The staff wee excellent and very helpful, even at 2am on a morning when the fire alarm went off for about 12-15 seconds. I was out of bed, bare footed in my dressing gown, heading down a corner fire escape. That took a few moments, but no sign of fire. This place is easy to find - 5 mins off J21 M1 and well signposted. Parking is easy too. The staff are helpful and the dinner and breakfast are of a good standard, as are the rooms. It's popular as a conference venue. The only downside is £9.99 for 24hrs internet access in your room (free in the lobby - but who wants to sit the lobby all night?). You might expect that in 2006 but not now, when the majority of other places offer if for free.

I stayed for a business conference. Everything was well organised, clean with helpful friendly staff. Great variety of breakfast. Only downside was challenging aircoditioning which seemed to reset itself part way through the evening meaning it was very warm. We were upgraded to an executive room which was very nice but as it opened onto the atrium it meant we couldn't open any Windows meaning the temperature was even more uncomfortable. There is a walk to a local large Sainsbury??s but apart from that you are pretty much stranded. Wifi is average. Staff are friendly.

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights/4days and I have to say that this place is just fantastic! From the moment I arrived with my disabled friend we were welcomed and advised about the hotels amenities and the check in staff were just wonderful and friendly! That same day we had a surprise birthday in the hotel restaurant and Taz especially was just phenomenal, she was attentive and nothing was a problem, she spoke to my friend with patients and respectfully something I often find people are afrai... We visited Marriott Hotel, since we had a wedding taking place there. So we stayed at night after the wedding. The hotel is impressive when you walk into the lobby. Very big lobby with a Starbucks cafe. Also there is the breakfast room. Check in was very fast and the staff was polite as well. Our room was very bit, clean and we felt sorry that was only for one night. The only negative was the bathroom, too old. Other than that the room was fantastic. Breakfast was nice too, but only filter coffe... Read more

Booked in whilst on business for one night. Very friendly at check-in, and efficient. The room I was given was lovely, very comfortable, I had a great nights sleep. I also used the restaurant in the evening; food, drinks and service were excellent throughout. Breakfast wasn't the best though. Overall, a reasonably good experience, although a couple of 'even better if' suggestions for your consideration; Get free WiFi to all rooms - all the hotels I've stayed in offer free wifi, it should... Only stayif you have a meeting on , not for families

Great hotel with excellent facilities & an excellent atmosphere! Even a Starbucks coffee shop in the lobby! The hotel itself is fantastic & the service is great. Rooms are spacious & modern. Don't really rate the restaurant for dinner however the breakfast menu was fantastic. Overall a very good stay & judging by the number of people at this hotel, quite a popular destination!

Stayed here initially 4 years ago and different experience then. As a marriott silver card holder asked for complimentary room/ lounge upgrade ...the lady with British accent was surly ,patronising and fail to appreciate hospitality ..she also wanted £48 or so for access to lounge alone !! Wasn't the case in the past ...Breakfast time restaurant wait was long 25 minutes .... It's a shame as in the past the service was excellent and it overrides the pleasant Eastern European service staff who... Read more

Had an overnight stay in a twin queen room. All staff encountered, from check-in to check-out, were friendly and professional. Our room was very spacious, very comfortable and very clean. Everything that should have been there was there and everything worked as it should. The hotel itself is large and modern and seems to be centred around a massive atrium. It gives out a very welcoming and luxurious feel. We got a decent night's sleep and heard nothing through the walls or the door. We had a... Read more

I stayed for 1 night, the foyer is stunning with a very tall atrium, bar and reception sofas etc, with dining areas leading from it, felt a good place to meet my other delegates and guests. Buffet lunch was outstanding, beautifully presented. Two minor things, first was no port available to buy at the bar, a nice drink which my guest couldn't have ! The second issue was more annoying. The lovely bedroom was spoiled ! I am really fed up with hotel rooms which do not give you darkness at night... Read more

We had a large enough room with a spacious bathroom and access to the executive lounge. The staff were generally helpful and friendly - all were foreigners. The one time however when we went to the executive lounge to eat she told us it was closed but in fact it should have been open for breakfast for another half hour. Every weekend was a wedding which we found quite interesting as this really is a business hotel. There is a large parking lot but one is obliged to pay per day for this facili... Read more

Decent food although a limited menu. Decent bar. Good gym with decent treadmills which is a must as there is no where to run on the m1! Pool not bad at all for a hotel. Possibly 30m's long or so. Sauna decent. Breakfast food good but service v poor. Asked for coffee three times and they still brought me tea! Have to pay for parking a bit of a faf. Hotel on the whole good but a little characterless.

Hotel ok, albeit looking a little tired now and could do with a refresh and lick of paint. What really frustrated me is that a lot of things that you would expect to be included with a hotel of this standard is extra cost. No water in the room, need to pay for parking, internet is chargeable (come on guys this is joke, even McDonalds has free wi-fi !), asked for a cuppuccino at breakfast and this is extra and chargeable ! In future I will go to the Hilton just over the road, overall a better hot... Read more

I stayed for just one night with my two children (4&8 years) and mother who has disability issues on the way back from Devon to Norfolk as a break from driving! The added bonus of checking in around Halloween meant the children got popcorn on arrival and to pose with a super pumpkin display. The room was super, with two good size beds (one child slept with each grown up), and still a good amount of space to move around. I didn't know, but with booking as a Rewards member we gained access to the... Read more

This hotel is close to the motorway but is a little awkward to access being just off some busy junctions. There's plenty of parking which is chargeable for some cars I think depending on the reason for your visit. The hotel is very large and has a massive foyer area. The function I attended was in a large room. The service was exceptional and the food of good quality. I would certainly consider using this hotel if I needed to stay in Leicester area.

We stayed for one night as part of the Stay Play and Explore Package which offered excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend this package as you get hotel with breakfast and entry to up to 3 attractions in Leicestershire for a very reasonable price. The hotel was absolutely first rate from the very welcoming receptionist to the top notch breakfast. As a family of 3 we had a large family room which was spacious and had 2 double beds and a small seating area. My 5 year old was so ... Read more

We have stayed here before but its really worth mentioning how good this hotel is. For the conference everything was extremely well organised with coffee, snacks and refreshments all produced in a timely manner and of high quality. Breakfast and lunch were excellent with a very wide selection, nicely displayed and very well prepared. We had private dining for our delegates which was done in a competent and professional manner. Friday 18th November, The rooms are a good size, clean and tidy. staff Olga and Alicia was very helpful. We made full use of the pool. gym. had an amazing time. On another note I would like to point out in the huge reception area we felt safe for the children, the entrance has automatic doors we discovered this to be very dangerous as the children where running out straight onto the drive with passing cars waiting for an accident to happen. Stayed here recently and booked online. When we arrived we were greeted by the Reception Staff and offered an accessible room as I am in a wheelchair it was equivalent to the Executive room we had booked with plenty of extra room for the wheelchair. Room was excellent. Comfy bed. Luxury toiletries, dressing gown and slippers. Coffee maker and complimentary tea and coffee. There was also bottled water and a jar of sweets. Breakfast was self service and plentiful. Would recommend as a stop over. T... Read more
