Using the hotel for an overnight stay I wasn't expecting the earth from the Holiday Inn and my expectations were sadly not exceeded. The large reception area has the feel of a travelodge and was clean and tidy. The hotel bedrooms are extremely basic, my room smelt of stale smoke and cigarettes and was extremely cold due to the window being left open clearly all day to ventilate the smell, when I complained to reception they changed my room. Again another really basic room without the odour. Th... Read more

Whilst the room was functional but a bit shabby, I was really impressed with the warm and friendly staff. I'd arrived without deodorant so Andy on reception actually went and fetched his own so I could borrow a couple of squirts before my conference at the Royal Armouries - much appreciated. And I think it was Jenny the night before who sorted me out with a toothbrush, parking voucher and directions to the ironing room. Close to Mumtaz for an amazing indian experience. This hotel is great value for money and is ideally situated in the centre of Leeds and no more than a 20 min walk to most places that you will want to visit. The bar area is fine and the breakfast cooked and the basic fayre that you would expect the rooms are of ample size and the bed was very comfortable. Service from the hotel team was great throughout. Two things let it down for us and hence not five stars: - There were only decaff sachets in the room and after a heavy night out we needed... Read more

This was a great location for a visit to Leeds, there were issues as with all stays unless you pay a fortune. Good points - great price, great location and great company, staff were great and very helpful Not so good - rooms could be updated with little cost, better housekeeping, showers that worked without letting water on floor (though I checked firth to ensure it didn't happen)

Came here for one night ( 28/05/16 ), hotel lovely and clean, great breakfast. Best of all was the friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. We requested an early check in and got in our room for 10.30am. Returned to hotel at approx 11.30pm and the Night Manager was super. All in all, a great stay :)

I stayed here for two nights with my two children and dog (yes! Dogs are allowed!!) We had a wonderful time. The room was clean, comfortable and had a great bathroom. Close to the shopping area. Staff are friendly and helpful. Most importantly it was quiet! Great location, easy parking, something for everyone for breakfast and well priced. Highly recommended if you are planning to visit Leeds.

We (2 adults, 1 child) stayed at the Holiday Inn Express (Leeds Armouries) over Easter 2016 whilst on a visit to the Leeds Armouries. The hotel is perfectly placed next to the Armouries. There is a multi-storey next to the hotel for parking. The room was great for a small family. A few resturants/bars are also located close by, as is a Tesco Metro. Hotel provided free wi-fi, staff were courteous.

This room was booked for business through another provider but I had requested a lower ground room as I have slight mobility issues. At check-in after a lengthy wait, (there were three people on reception but only one was working, although in fairness I think one person was training so not a problem ) When I was eventually checked by the third person, I was dismayed to find I was on the 5th floor, I did point out my mobility request but I was told fairly quickly there were no other lower rooms ... Stayed here for one night. As an IHG Platinum member with a credit card on my profile I was surprised to be asked for a swipe of my credit card at check-in. Was more surprised when I got my credit card bill to find I had been charged at check in and a second time when checking out. Despite phoning and emailing the hotel and being promised a reply in 48 hours, it is now 2 months after my stay and still no refund.

I like this hotel a lot. Just minutes from the centre it is located in a very quiet renovated dock area directly opposite the Amouries Museum. There is not a lot to do in the immediate area and if its nightlife you want then don't come here. There is a very nice Pizza Express next door and a Tesco's Express just a few minutes walk. The hotel bar area is pleasant and the service always good. Rooms are standard HIE fare but perfectly adequate.

I have used holiday Inns for some time now and this one falls a bit short. I was booked in for b&b and evening meal. The breakfast is as usual a limited buffet type. Which is fine and adequate but very limited. As for the evening meal there is basically only 4 main courses to choose from. WITH NO HEALTHY OPTIONS. It's basically just microwave meals which aren't cheap. The rooms at the back on the lower levels have no view and can be noisy with staff talking in the back yard. The chair in my... Read more

I am an IHG member and therefore I stay in a number of these hotels and therefore I generally know what to expect, but in my last 2 experiences of Holiday Inns I have been left distinctly underwhelmed. The menu at the hotel is very limited with only 4 option available. We stayed on Friday and Saturday nights, and were apprehensive as to whether it would be noisy. However the hotel is located in a largely residential dockside quarter and we had no problems. It is well located for the Armories where we attended a function, but is not too far from the city centre shops. Car parking in the adjacent multi storey is £15 for the weekend, which is not bad.
