Having spent £220 for a night stay here, I expected something special. The rooms were very basic and quite small, toiletries were inadequate for two people and there was no bath only a shower. We were awaken several times in the early hours by other guests coming in. The Sky Lounge is a good selling point for the hotel but on the two occasions we visited it was very overcrowded and we couldn't find anywhere to sit inside as it was raining outside. The hotel is located next to the train station ... Read more

Overall a great experience at the Hotel. The location is right next to the train station so no need for taxi, and also near some very good restaurants! Some flaws exist in the communication - there appears to be a communication barrier with some of the staff in that I feel they do not understand english nor converse in english. This creates some frustration but is always managed by fellow staff members.

Last minute visit to Leeds and chose this hotel for its location, which couldn't be better. Situated right on the canal, a short 5 minute walk from the Center of town and surrounded by excellent bars and restaurants. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the best we've experienced in the UK. Breakfast was offered at £10pp on arrival rather than £16pp if we'd pre-booked. Breakfast was excellent and well worth the £10 paid.

Had A one night stay in the Doubletree Hilton Leeds city centre. This is the nicest of the two Hiltons because it's newer and by the wharf . If you don't fancy the excellent food in the hotel there is plenty of restaurants in and around the hotel itself all set in a tranquil setting. I do recommend you go to the 13th floor to go to the sky lounge, where I spent the evening. It has spectacularly views of Leeds. Excellent hotel - usually Hilton standards, very clean if not slightly nicer than most I have stayed in. The rooms were lovely with great views over Leeds through the massive windows. Easy walking distance to a lot of the restaurants and bars. There are a few great restaurants within spitting distance, including some bars. We were sceptical of booking a hotel in this part of the city, thinking that it would be noisy but as this hotel was the most conveniently located we booked it anyway. We were very surprised to find that the hotel was indeed quite quiet, not that there weren't a lot of people staying it was that you couldn't hear them once you were in your room. Very nice check-in experience with Christina; she gave me a room early, as I had just come off an overnight flight. However, the hotel forgot to tell guests that they test the fire alarms the first day of the month. I was dead asleep when the alarm in the room went off; I waited for either directions to get out, or to relax because it was a test. No word ever came. Second problem was no wifi. It was also right next to the ice machine which was not welcome, especially when it was rumbling during the night. As I am sure you would expect from the Hilton Hotel family, this Doubletree was pretty (on the inside), clean with nice rooms and of course the infamous warm cookie upon checking in (such a brilliant touch). Bed was very comfy and room facilities were bang on for a standard doubletree room. Breakfast was nice, medium selection however there didn't quite seem to be enough staff on to keep up with the tea and coffee requests as myself and colleague asked for tea 3 times until we got it, however I ... This hotel is a nice hotel until the general night manager hand the keys to the security team circa 2 pm once the sky lounge has closed. The general night time manager is happy to stand back in reception as his sub contract European security staff rugby tackle their residents to the floor on the other side of the reception glass (outside) due o them attempting to bringing a guest in to their hotel. We had a last minute stay in this hotel and found it to be a welcoming place in a great location with attentive staff from the moment we walked in. The room was clean, spacious and well equipped, and the morning breakfast has a great selection. We were offered a room with a canal side view, which we were very pleased with. There are restaurants and bars a stone throw away, and Leeds train station is a 5min walk. I recommend this hotel whole heartedly.

It was a bit of a last minute decision to have an overnight in Leeds and was all kindly arranged by my partner. Have to say this was an excellent choice of hotel. Located between the railway station and canal basin with a number of bars and restaurants quite literally a few steps out of the door. A few minutes steady stroll took us into town. I've stayed at the Doubletree a few times now and it's always a nice place to be. The hotel is in a great location and has some nice restaurants and a handy little shop within metres of the hotel front doors. The staff are friendly and the rooms are always well turned out. My only issue is that the lifts often break down and you can find yourself waiting a very long time for a lift during busy times. This hotel price is somewhat in the higher-tier, but it's quality in my opinion is more mid-tier than anything...BUT you get a welcome cookie (pun intended). The best thing about it is it's location next to Leeds train station. Rooms are clean and good space...but nothing special about them, they should put a bit more work in the design for the price you are paying. Staff is great, breakfast is good. If you find a room under its usual price, it should be worth it.
