An acceptable stay for a night, though the hotel is a bit bland and uninspiring. The room was clean and comfy. The main downside is that there is very little within walking distance, meaning that without driving there is no option other than to eat in the hotel, which we did. The food was nothing special, served with very few veg and was overpriced for what we received. During breakfast the fire alarm went off. The staff did not appear to know how to react and made no attempt to evacuate th... Read more

Stayed here for business for 1 night, had an upgraded room which was probably the cleanest I have stayed in, lovely super king bed and freestanding bath. The food was very nice (not sure about the Lancaster peas!) Breakfast nicely cooked and not dried out like some buffets. Didn't have a chance to use the pool or gym but judging form everything else I'm sure I wouldn't have been disappointed, only downside you need to drive to the town.

This large ground floor hotel room (105), newly refurbished, was one of the best designed hotel rooms we have stayed in. Everything worked: large bathroom with walk-in shower and 'double bath', plenty of surfaces on which to place toiletries (a common omission), large comfortable bed, bags of surface to put things on next to the bed each side, separate small sitting room with sofa and arm chair, work desk and desk lamp, electric points exactly where they should be, ample storage for clothes, etc... The staff here are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are a bit odd: antwacky lampshades on wall lights, dark wood furniture but walls had modern pictures on, none of it complimentary to each other. On arrival jumped in the shower to refresh only to find water doesn't drain quickly away and bath started to fill, yuck. Once out of the shower went to dry my hair to find nozzle didn't fit hairdryer nor did the hairdryer work. Tried to call reception but neither phone in the room worked... Fortunate... Read more

This hotel was included in the packaged tour I booked in HK. There was no lift and I should hand carry my language to the 1st floor. As a result, it is better to request room in ground floor if you have big suitcase. The hotel and restaurant was small. We made a mistake because my tour leader informed us the breakfast started by 7:00am but it should be 7:30am according to the information from reception. From the moment the I checked in with the friendly receptionist I knew that this was going to be a different experience. The rooms are lovely - tastefully decorated and a really comfy bed. Stayed here one night with husband and child. Room was clean and plenty of space, comfy bed and nice refreshments. The reception area is decorated nicely and the furniture was lovely. Stayed here for just one night whilst visiting my son at Lancaster university, which is obviously a great location as it is only a 5 minutes‚?? walk away. Nice location in terms of lovely views. No lift a bit of an issue, as there can be a lot of stairs depending on where your room is. This hotel is located very close to the University, almost on the grounds of the campus. The hotel is 1990s in style, but no less comfortable for that. Room was clean, beds were good, bathroom OK with good shower pressure - everything you need really. We pre booked numerous rooms well in advance for family and guests which the hotel were happy to do, this worked very well as several other wedding groups were staying at the same time and the hotel was full. When my wife booked our own room we asked for a level access room with shower as she finds getting into & out of a bath difficult, we were given a room with 'accessible bathroom' with grab rails around the toilet & sink but nothing for easy access to the shower which was over the bath. Had dinner many times at their restaurant during studies at lancaster university, as the hotel is located just across the campus. The restaurant offers a variety of delicious meat and fish dishes, with a particular focus on local produce. Both beef steak and venison were excellent. Stayed in the hotel for two nights when family came for graduation and all were very satisfied with the stay. Rooms are of decent size and comfortable equipment - not top modern, all clean and comfy. Delighted we decided to stay here instead of in the town of Lancaster itself. Nice to have use of a swimming pool, hot tubs ,sauna & steam room in the hotel. The rooms were spacious, especially the suites. Beds comfortable . Food in the restaurant was excellent, range of drinks good. Breakfast busy but staff very helpful. A most enjoyable stay.

Stayed two nights at Lancaster House for a family wedding. We ate in the restaurant on the first night with family and the food was very enjoyable if a little expensive. The service was polite and efficient but as there was another wedding reception on the same evening the food was slow in coming, for which the waiting staff were quick to apologise. The rooms our party had were all good - comfortable and clean. Buffet breakfasts were good. There is a spa at the hotel which is free for guest... Read more

First visit to this hotel after a lot of recommendations and it did not disappoint. Room was lovely, clean with a good view. Good selection of tea and coffee in the room ū???. Shower was okay...water temperature did fluctuate a bit but nothing to major. Food was lovely both lunchtime and dinner. Didn't feel at all like it was a pre made meal brought in and heated up, I would have said this was definitely freshly cooked on site. The vegetarian breakfast was the best I've eaten at a hotel like thi... Read more

The accommodation and party night on the Saturday was very good. The food in the restaurant and bar was really good and our gala dinner on the Saturday night (3 courses) was exemplary. Would definitely stay again.

We have stayed in this hotel on several occasions and always had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel public areas, rooms, restaurant, bar and leisure centre are always immaculately clean. The staff are friendly and the ambience good. Often a big fire is lit in the lounge/foyer area which is great to sit in front of after a delicious meal, sipping coffee.

We were looking for a hotel with easy parking in Lancaster - very easy here. There's also a pool & a gym with good clean, warm changing rooms. Our room was crisp & clean. Breakfast was more than ample ! If your Uni student son/daughter has a Purple Card, they get to join you for breakfast for FREE! Short path into Uni campus

The hotel is really good. Check in was simple and all queries dealt with straight away. Room changed upon our request for 1st floor room. The suite was fantastic and value for money with the Sunday special package. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Dinner was top-notch and very minimal wait between courses. Only things to mention is the fireplace in the reception causes a typical fire smell; either you like it or not. We didn't. And the fire alarm went off at 5:15. No staff anywhere. Guests... Read more

A large party of us stayed here for my sons wedding (which did not take place at the hotel) The car park is excellent with plenty of spaces, the reception is lovely with a blazing log fire which was very welcome when we all returned at midnight from the celebrations. I personally booked, in one phone call, 3 double rooms and 2 rooms for single occupancy. We were therefor amazed to find that the 2 single people (an elderly Aunt and Uncle) got large luxury suites with huge beds, 2 TV's (1 in their... Read more

Stayed here overnight twice recently, both occasions with wife and our two dogs. Both times we were in a ground floor suite, which was very comfortable and more than enough space for us all. Also convenient for walking the dogs. Staff were super friendly to us and our dogs, and set up a special table for us in a separate bar area so we could be somewhere quiet with our dogs. Steak dinner was delicious (even with those doggy brown eyes staring at me all through dinner) and i had a wonderful c... Read more

Was in Lancaster to settle my Daughter into the University. My Wife and I were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the accommodation and dining on offer. Would not hesitate to return, indeed we are in either late November or early December. Great bar, great restaurant but the sofa in front of the open fire with a glass of single malt was sublime.

This was a stopover on our way to Manchester chosen because it was our wedding anniversary. The room was lovely. We ate in the bar rather than the restaurant but the food was excellent. Breakfast was very very good, my husband had kippers and I had the buffet and we were delighted with the quality of the food. I had my hair done while there and the hairdresser did a good job and it still looked good the next day.

Such a lovely hotel! We arrived for a friends wedding but due to illness we were confined to the hotel, what an absolute pleasure that was. Joesph greeted us at reception and with a warm friendly welcome to our 5 year old son before we had checked in, we were offered refreshments and our son sat at the beautiful log fire content. Our studio suite was lovely, big bathroom, shower and lots of space enough with 3 of us. To our amazement the hotel is dog friendly which just adds to the loveli... Read more

I only stayed one night while I was doing some work at the University but it's certainly a nice hotel, staff were friendly, breakfast was nice (I didn't have dinner) and it was not bad value (£88 for B&B) 2 minutes walk to University and 10 minutes taxi from train station. Rooms were clean, tidy, comfortable but nothing flashy. I'd stay again.

This English Lakes hotel in Lancaster is a truly comfortable, classic English experience that one hardly finds any more. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained as are the public places. The full English breakfast (a bargain at 15 GBP complete) includes all sorts of personally cooked dishes from the ktichen. It is an ideal place to bring your young children or grandchildren for Sunday brunch. he staff are gracious and accommodating. If visiting Lancaster or on the way to the Lake District... Read more
