An acceptable stay for a night, though the hotel is a bit bland and uninspiring. The room was clean and comfy. The main downside is that there is very little within walking distance, meaning that without driving there is no option other than to eat in the hotel, which we did. The food was nothing special, served with very few veg and was overpriced for what we received. During breakfast the fire alarm went off. The staff did not appear to know how to react and made no attempt to evacuate th... Read more

Stayed here for business for 1 night, had an upgraded room which was probably the cleanest I have stayed in, lovely super king bed and freestanding bath. The food was very nice (not sure about the Lancaster peas!) Breakfast nicely cooked and not dried out like some buffets. Didn't have a chance to use the pool or gym but judging form everything else I'm sure I wouldn't have been disappointed, only downside you need to drive to the town.

This large ground floor hotel room (105), newly refurbished, was one of the best designed hotel rooms we have stayed in. Everything worked: large bathroom with walk-in shower and 'double bath', plenty of surfaces on which to place toiletries (a common omission), large comfortable bed, bags of surface to put things on next to the bed each side, separate small sitting room with sofa and arm chair, work desk and desk lamp, electric points exactly where they should be, ample storage for clothes, etc... Enjoyed an overnight stay here as we were visiting the Lancaster brewery a few miles away. Our room was lovely and clean, bed was comfy and the toiletries were gorgeous. Reception area is very pleasant. Restaurant was modern and the food was nicely presented. Especially breakfast! This was delicious. All the staff were very helpful, happy and attentive. The spa was great and we enjoyed the outdoor hot tub in the glorious sunshine. All in all it was a perfect visit. The only thing we could grumbl... Read more

The staff here are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are a bit odd: antwacky lampshades on wall lights, dark wood furniture but walls had modern pictures on, none of it complimentary to each other. On arrival jumped in the shower to refresh only to find water doesn't drain quickly away and bath started to fill, yuck. Once out of the shower went to dry my hair to find nozzle didn't fit hairdryer nor did the hairdryer work. Tried to call reception but neither phone in the room worked... Fortunate... Read more

This hotel was included in the packaged tour I booked in HK. There was no lift and I should hand carry my language to the 1st floor. As a result, it is better to request room in ground floor if you have big suitcase. The hotel and restaurant was small. We made a mistake because my tour leader informed us the breakfast started by 7:00am but it should be 7:30am according to the information from reception. The breakfast did actually started at 7:31am upon a ‚??special reminder‚?? to the waiters as ... Read more

Stayed here on a business trip. Am used to average hotels with disinterested staff. This place was anything but. From the moment the I checked in with the friendly receptionist I knew that this was going to be a different experience. The rooms are lovely - tastefully decorated and a really comfy bed. The White Company toiletries went down well too. The leisure club was really good. A smallish but very well equipped gym, pool/sauna/jacuzzi and outside hot tub. Only minus was that it didn't open... Stayed here one night with husband and child. Room was clean and plenty of space, comfy bed and nice refreshments. The reception area is decorated nicely and the furniture was lovely. The only criticism I have is that the buffet breakfast was not consistent, all items were coming out at different times so people were hanging around.

Stayed here for just one night whilst visiting my son at Lancaster university, which is obviously a great location as it is only a 5 minutes‚?? walk away. Nice location in terms of lovely views. No lift a bit of an issue, as there can be a lot of stairs depending on where your room is. It happened to be very hot the weekend that we were resident, and the heated towel rail was blasting away in the bathroom (and couldn‚??t be turned off locally) so I asked at reception if it could be switched off,... This hotel is located very close to the University, almost on the grounds of the campus. The hotel is 1990s in style, but no less comfortable for that. Room was clean, beds were good, bathroom OK with good shower pressure - everything you need really. The restaurant is more modern and offers a good range of choices although we found the service a little slow at times. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We stayed in a luxury studio room the room very large with a super king size bed, a comfy sofa seating area and a large bathroom with a freestanding bath and separate rain shower. The room was very clean and tidy and was serviced both days. There is loads of storage in the room. The staff were excellent and went out of there way to help us. A nice touch is the ice machines... We arrived for an overnight stopover on our way to Scotland. We were very happy with our room that overlooked the restaurant garden. After using the very pleasant leisure facilities we had a great meal in the Hotel bar. We chose to eat in the bar rather than the restaurant. They use the same kitchen and the food was of an excellent standard. On the way back to our room we could smell cigarette smoke in the corridor which we reported to reception. Nothing was seemingly done. The room wh... Read more

I stayed 3 nights at Lancaster House in mid April for a conference. It is not a big hotel, only one floor of rooms. The surroundings are great with lots of greenery and rolling meadows. Rooms are adequate, slightly dated but hey, this is a historic hotel. Buffet breakfast was so-so and can get very boring as the fare was the same throughout the 3 days. Didn't try the dinner as the nearby town of Lancaster offers more options. This hotel is not conveniently located nor easily accessible. Idea... Read more

The Pub/Bar at the Lancaster House has really nice pub food. Apart from the usual dishes you would expect on a pub menu you can find some other British dishes that are really nice like the Lamb Hot Pot or the Vegetarian Tart. Overall, the hotel is really nice (the entrance, reception and bar). A perfect place to stay if you are visiting the university.

Stayed here one night whilst on a tour heading up to Scotland. This is a modernised hotel with foyer, bar and restaurant areas comfortable and clean. Service is professional and attentive. Bar area in need of a larger LCD Television though. Food quality is good. Breakfast has many options and was well laid out. Dinner was a group booking and three courses. Good quality however main could have been larger. Rooms are on large size. Bathrooms are outdated but very clean. Bath with shower overhe... Read more

We stayed for one night, and can not fault the place. The pool and spa are amazing, it's a shame the out door hot tub wasn't working. The staff and food in the bar and restaurant were second to none, even letting us sit away from the main thoroughfare in the restaurant due to my husband having his arm in a cast. We didn't want to vine home, this hotel will get return visits from us again and again. Throughly a relaxing experience. Thank you Lancaster House Hotel.

As my birthday treat my Mum took advantage of the groupon deal to upgrade afternoon tea to a 'Spa Day' with afternoon tea at Lancaster House. I'd heard good things about the hotel and spa so was looking forward to it, however now I've visited I won't be recommending it to friends. As a regular to spa days I'm used to lots of lounging around in a robe with a good book alternating with pool and sauna visits. We had a wonderful stay here, thank you! This is a perfect 4 star hotel, well located for the university, Trough of Bowland, Lancaster and of course the Lakes.
