Stayed overnight with the massage offer. The food was delicious in pleasant surroundings. The staff, who were essentially from abroad, were faultless in every area. There is a bus stop opposite which allows you, especially the driver, to absorb the fantastic scenery safely. The downside, as far as we were concerned, was that the hot tub only gave it's therapeutic effects for less than half time followed by sitting in fairly warm still water. Secondly the massage was a disappointment . I have had... Read more

Great little pool indoors with sauna and hot tub and an outdoor pool . I did not try the spa treatments but it looked good. Upstairs new looked newly referbished with new carpets wall coverings. But still had traditional furniture. The huge bed was realy comfortable and the views out of the window was spectacular (107) there was a ... Read more

My Partner and I have visited the Lodore Falls Hotel now for the 5th time in 2 years and have fallen in love with its charm. It sits in a truly stunning location, with incredible views and walks. The team at the Lodore are First class and have always made us extremely welcome, and remember us each time we go back, which is a great touch. Had a lovely evening at the Lodore. The only criticism we have is that the receptionist was quite cheeky on signing in. She wanted to know why we were in two cars and this isn't the first time she asked me. I have never been asked this in any other hotel. It was a nice sunny day, so it was nice sitting outside on the new patio area with a drink before dinner.

Really nice hotel - rooms of good size and quality, good night's sleep in comfort (we stayed in #320 with view at the back). Good location - we took a 15mile walk across and around Derwentwater via Catbells! Lovely to have an outdoor pool that was warm enough to swim in at the end of May! What tarnished the stay for us was the service. All but 1 member of staff we were in contact with across the 3 days were all Eastern European (which I don't have a problem with at all - they were all attentiv... Read more

Good hotel overall with lovely, clean bedroom. Parking wasn't a problem and was secure. Minutes walk to the lake and 10 minute drive from Keswick centre. Absolutely superb restaurant staff, very attentive and professional, shame about reception staff as found them a bit rude and miserable. Food was brilliant, but a bit fussy for our taste at dinner so dined out 2/3 of the nights, also a bit pricey. Hotel really MUST fix their WiFi, it was absolutely awful!! What can I say ... The Lodore Falls was a good as it always is. The Lakeview rooms have a good amount of space (plenty for two adults and a dog), the food is excellent and the atmosphere is incredibly relaxing. This time we took the opportunity to use the outdoor hot tub which has amazing views of the surrounding fells.

I can never fault anything about this hotel; I absolutely love it. I cannot understand the comments regarding the staff at Lodore!!! I think it is the staff that actually makes the hotel so special; along with the superb food (Shane). I do not think this is a fair comment as we are often at Lodore (going back in two weeks time) purely for the service provided - The Staff Are The Best!!! Do not book this hotel!!! I paid in advance on a planned trip from the USA. Instead of flying to the UK I ended up in hospital in surgery and am now fighting cancer. Despite explaining this to the hotel they refused to refund or hold for a rebook. Everyone else involved was so kind and helpful in this difficult time except this hotel. Away from the main building (only by 20 meters or so) it let us have a good time without disturbing others. The hotel is nice, but as there is nothing around, you are pretty much trapped. The food is ok but not worth the price, and a stay of three nights does not provide enough quantity or quality to fulfil the price charged. The website or telephone booking does not provide enough info about the rules and regulations around your stay. Although dogs are aloud there are so many places they are not permitted to go. The dog lounge is dark & gloomy with no windows, where as the bar has loads of light but ... Read more

To the hotel's credit they had tried to phone us after we'd set off for the Lakes but could not reach us. Greeted by walkers getting changed on steps of hotel, somewhat offputting. Reception was cold and mechanical. Room decent and modern. Rest of hotel dated and needs a refurbishment. Ghastly artwork in the restaurant. Barman kept walking off leaving customers stood around wondering what was going on. Main let down was food . A birthday celebration walk in Borrowdale led us to take a pleasant lunch at the Lodore Falls Hotel. Sitting outside on the front veranda with views across Derwentwater we could count the walkers on Cat Bells across the valley and look into the Jaws of Borrowdale to our left, an idyllic setting. Our room was so comfortable with a small balcony and beautifully furnished. We were moved on request due to the noise of the digger repairing the flood damage next to the hotel. Our second room was a big improvement in standard regarding furnishings,so we were grateful. The staff on reception were really helpful and so were housekeeping, the clea... Read more

I have visited this hotel before on a number of walks round Derwentwater. Visited again last Friday with my sister. Didn't think we would challenge the hotel with our order of a pot of tea for two and two soups. Firstly the tea arrived - minus milk. Then the soup arrived - cold. I sought out the waitress and she apologised and took the soups away. I asked for more bread with the hot soup - both arrived separately - so separate that the soup was almost finished. Oh yes, two pepper pots ins... Read more

We booked this hotel through Secret Escapes, which included; tea and scones on arrival, a three course set menu evening meal, overnight stay and breakfast. The hotel is situated towards the bottom of the lake. We took our dog with us, so walked left out of the hotel and then over the footbridge, which took us to a footpath leading around the edge of the lake. It was a lovely long walk with stunning scenery. The hotel was very accommodating to our pooch with dog bowls and bed in room, as well a... Read more

I had visited Lodore Falls Hotel on a couple of occasions stopping for a drink or tea and scones. The wall to wall comfy sofas in the lounge bar and Library made us want to stay here and experience the full luxury that Lodore promises. A gift voucher through secret escapes enabled us to book a couple of nights. We looked forward to a lovely relaxing time. On arrival we were welcomed and given our room. Good to see that this place retains standards from year to year. The lunch was perfect, each course was delicious, and the menu was a good mix of Sunday traditional and more unusual dishes. The beef was of excellent quality and fish had a lovely flavour. Desserts all sounded attractive and it was hard to choose. Staff are attentive without being suffocating or fussy, and we had a great position by the window overlooking the lake. We arrived at 12.15 pm. which was fortunate as it gets busier l... Read more

We stayed at the lodore falls on a Saturday evening after a very long hike in the Yorkshire Dale's. We booked this particular hotel because of its hot tub and spa facilities, however prior to arrival we notice that the hot tub was closed for refurbishment. Instead we asked for a room with a bath which we got, although it was nothing special! The room was quite basic and possible in need of a little updating. I woke up before 8am to the sound of maintenance work outside which wasn't what I wanted... Read more

Location beautiful, friendly staff, exceptional quality food and dog friendly. Separate lounge area to sit with dog that was furnished to a very high standard and open to all residents. Lodores Falls about 10 mins from the hotel and well worth a visit and we used the Lakeland Mist hop on hop off lake tour to get around. Easy lake walking and Great atmosphere in Keswick.

The flat and relatively easy six miles trek on the western bank of Derwent Water brings you to probably the best and longest running countryside hotels in the Lakes. I remember as a child standing next to a Rolls Royce in the car park- not much has changed, but the clientele range for those wishing to treat themselves to a lovely stay or a glimpse of touching five star standards at the end of a muddy day in beautiful surroundings. Dogs welcome in side rooms, the chef will event cook them a doggy... Read more

Spent a 2 night mid week break here on the basis of having had an excellent bar meal here a couple of months ago. Can't fault any aspect of the experience. Service was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, comfortable room, good food, great location. Wouldn't think of going anywhere else in the Keswick area now having experienced the Lodore.

Fabulous hotel in a wonderful location. Everything was perfect, the staff warm and friendly, the food exquisite and the view from our lakeside room was breathtaking. We stayed for 2 nights following out wedding and would absolutely love to stay again. Despite them having a lot of problems last winter with the awful floods, there was very little disruption whilst work was going on to improve flood defences and one would never know they had even had a problem such was the beautiful decor.

Visit end of Oct for 2 nights with the wife and Weimaraner. We stayed at this hotel due to location and their statement of pet friendliness. The location is nice but the cleaver photo suggesting its right on the lake edge is misleading, between you and the lake is the main road (bus stops directly outside the hotel) and a muddy field, there is a path that‚??s gives access to the lake side after a brisk 5-minute walk. At this point the lake launch is accessible, well worth using. At the rear of... Read more

Best location in Keswick. Standard room was very nice, with recently refurbished bathroom, super king size bed very comfy, all very clean and room well equipped. Cream tea was well received after a long walk. The evening meal was very good and nicely presented. My border terrier loved lazing by the open fire in the library after her exhausting day. Stopped here again for what appears to be a recurring annual visit. One of the aspects by which I judge a hotel is the hot water supply. Absolutely full marks, with no drop off in temperature or volume despite all the showers/baths that must be run simultaneously. The service in the dining room is impeccable with attention to detail being top priority. There are two menus from which to choose depending upon the room rate you are paying. Therefore the choice is extensive. The presentation of the... Read more
