Stayed overnight with the massage offer. The food was delicious in pleasant surroundings. The staff, who were essentially from abroad, were faultless in every area. There is a bus stop opposite which allows you, especially the driver, to absorb the fantastic scenery safely. The downside, as far as we were concerned, was that the hot tub only gave it's therapeutic effects for less than half time followed by sitting in fairly warm still water. Secondly the massage was a disappointment . I have had... Read more

Great little pool indoors with sauna and hot tub and an outdoor pool . I did not try the spa treatments but it looked good. Upstairs new looked newly referbished with new carpets wall coverings. My Partner and I have visited the Lodore Falls Hotel now for the 5th time in 2 years and have fallen in love with its charm. It sits in a truly stunning location, with incredible views and walks. The team at the Lodore are First class and have always made us extremely welcome, and remember us each time we go back, which is a great touch. Had a lovely evening at the Lodore. The only criticism we have is that the receptionist was quite cheeky on signing in. She wanted to know why we were in two cars and this isn't the first time she asked me. I have never been asked this in any other hotel. It was a nice sunny day, so it was nice sitting outside on the new patio area with a drink before dinner.

Really nice hotel - rooms of good size and quality, good night's sleep in comfort (we stayed in #320 with view at the back). Good location - we took a 15mile walk across and around Derwentwater via Catbells! Lovely to have an outdoor pool that was warm enough to swim in at the end of May! What tarnished the stay for us was the service. All but 1 member of staff we were in contact with across the 3 days were all Eastern European (which I don't have a problem with at all - they were all attentiv... Read more

Good hotel overall with lovely, clean bedroom. Parking wasn't a problem and was secure. Minutes walk to the lake and 10 minute drive from Keswick centre. Absolutely superb restaurant staff, very attentive and professional, shame about reception staff as found them a bit rude and miserable. Food was brilliant, but a bit fussy for our taste at dinner so dined out 2/3 of the nights, also a bit pricey. Hotel really MUST fix their WiFi, it was absolutely awful!! What can I say ... The Lodore Falls was a good as it always is. The Lakeview rooms have a good amount of space (plenty for two adults and a dog), the food is excellent and the atmosphere is incredibly relaxing. This time we took the opportunity to use the outdoor hot tub which has amazing views of the surrounding fells.

I can never fault anything about this hotel; I absolutely love it. I cannot understand the comments regarding the staff at Lodore!!! I think it is the staff that actually makes the hotel so special; along with the superb food (Shane). I do not think this is a fair comment as we are often at Lodore (going back in two weeks time) purely for the service provided - The Staff Are The Best!!! Do not book this hotel!!! I paid in advance on a planned trip from the USA. Instead of flying to the UK I ended up in hospital in surgery and am now fighting cancer. Despite explaining this to the hotel they refused to refund or hold for a rebook. Everyone else involved was so kind and helpful in this difficult time except this hotel. Away from the main building (only by 20 meters or so) it let us have a good time without disturbing others. The hotel is nice, but as there is nothing around, you are pretty much trapped. The food is ok but not worth the price, and a stay of three nights does not provide enough quantity or quality to fulfil the price charged. The website or telephone booking does not provide enough info about the rules and regulations around your stay. Although dogs are aloud there are so many places they are not permitted to go. The dog lounge is dark & gloomy with no windows, where as the bar has loads of light but ... Read more

A weekend at this hotel was booked as a surprise for my husband's birthday by my parents. We were looking forward to it immensely as we had had a busy time at work. When we got to the hotel we were told there had been an error with our booking and that we would not be able to stay. To the hotel's credit they had tried to phone us after we'd set off for the Lakes but could not reach us. They said that there had been a double booking and that they had booked us into The Skiddaw, which is one of th... Read more

We arrived for a 1 night stay as part of an offer for 1 night, with scones on arrival, a 3 course meal and breakfast for £200. Great customer service on arrival, scones were lovely and was served hot milk with the coffee which was a nice touch. As I had noted on the reservation that this was a surprise for my boyfriend we were very kindly upgraded from a Lake View room to a lovely suite with 4 huge windows all looking onto the lake. The room was lovely and clean and we were provided with plent... Read more

We stayed at the Lodore Falls Hotel the day after our wedding. Before arriving I'd emailed ahead asking if they could help me arrange a nice surprise for my wife and whilst helpful, the options were limited and somewhat expensive. We were early for check in so had to wait in the bar which was pleasant enough and I have to commend the desk manager for asking house keeping to do our room next to minimise our wait. I'd booked a lake view room and the views from it where beautiful and the room its... Read more

Stopped here with my fiancee and we loved every minute of it. Beautiful place and fortunately for us we got upgraded to the penthouse which left us with stunning views and a gorgeous room, we love and appreciate the area itself so if you like to walk and take in breathtaking images I would imagine anyone would love this place

I have just returned from a wonderful overnight stay at Lodore Falls and I would highly recommend to other visitors. We arrived and were shown to our Lake View Room, it was spacious, clean and very well furnished. The bathroom was a good size and nice toiletries available In the room. We enjoyed tea and scones in the lounge before heading the health club for swim and the use of the outdoor hot tub. I suggest when visiting you do arrange this. It needs to be pre booked and is yours for a 20 mi... Read more

My wife and I returned for our first anniversary after getting married here last year, and Lodore Falls didn't let us down! The view from our room was stunning, the service was great, and the food was outstanding. So many lovely extra touches as well. Thank you to all at Lodore for this visit and every previous visit, we will return!

Greeted by walkers getting changed on steps of hotel, somewhat offputting. Reception was cold and mechanical. Room decent and modern. Rest of hotel dated and needs a refurbishment. Ghastly artwork in the restaurant. Barman kept walking off leaving customers stood around wondering what was going on. Main let down was food . Seemed rushed and a bit preprepared, particularly breakfast. Overall not worth the premium price. We left a little disappointed. Tip.... Don't bother setting a wake-up ... Read more

I can't fault this hotel ... The food is excellent - and the breakfast is a level up ... There is a small but interesting wine list ... The thing that stands out here is the service - the meticulous attention to detail and the high quality and well drilled staff ... Nothing is too much trouble and the quality of delivery is fantastic ... The rooms are quaintly decorated but very comfortable (we were in a standard room) ... Coupled with great scenery ... A fabulous three day break ... If I were ... Read more

We called into The Lordore Falls for a sandwich after a visit to the falls themselves. I asked at the reception about the parking across the road and was informed as to the procedure by the guy on the desk who had a very professional manner, so kudos to him. I ordered our sandwiches at the bar and was served fairly quickly given there was a wedding on at the hotel on the Sunday we visited so again, brilliant service. It was our last day of our stay in the lakes and it was lovely to sit in a s... Read more

The Lodore Falls Hotel in Borrowdale is about 200 years old but has been tastefully modernised. We stayed for 3 nights in a superb lake-view room, complete with a balcony and seating. The room smelled fresh each time we entered, and the modern, spacious bathroom was also equipped with a good over-bath shower. Toiletries, robes and slippers were provided and towels were replaced daily. The bedroom had a comfortable king-size bed, 2 easy chairs plus a 'love seat', dressing table, bedside draw... Read more

Visited the hotel after a walk on the hills. Despite wearing our walking gear and the hotel preparing for a wedding later in the day we were given a really warm welcome by the young lady behind the bar. We only had sandwiches and some drinks, but what we were served with was very tasty indeed.
