This hotel was very nice for our one night stay. Friendly staff, clean and a good size room. The bathroom was good with a decent shower compared to others we've had on our trip. Plenty of parking with a pub offering nice food across the road. The hotel is not in the city centre but if you have a car that isnt a problem as its a quick direct route to the town centre. Breakfast was simple but still nice. I would have given anther half star if I could. The only reason it didn't get a 5 was the doub... Read more

Very clean, modern well eqippped rooms with comfy bed. Easy to get to and even the grounds were clean, well illuminated and maintained. Dog friendly as well which was why we booked there in the first place. Staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful.

My Husband and I stayed here overnight for a surprise birthday treat for him on the 12th of May 2016. First impressions were good, the grounds were clean tidy and welcoming. The Reception staff also were friendly, warm and very welcoming, explaining everything we needed to know about our stay. The room we had on the second floor was spacious, clean, and fresh, the bed was very comfortable, although one of the pillows was a little lumpy, but this didn't hinder our stay and as mentioned to the rece... Stayed one night in this hotel. Hotel provides free parking and is only a 10 mins drive to city center. Tesco extra is just situated beside it which makes shopping of necessities easy. Room is clean and the beds are comfy. A bar is available and the drinks purchased can be brought into the rooms. Service staff is friendly and efficient. Price is very reasonable.

From our first welcome to Scotland in this lovely hotel, we felt happy to be staying here. Warm, friendly staff on reception and in the restaurant, comfortable beds, exceptionally clean and tidy and with a plentiful breakfast, we were very impressed.

After two weeks driving around the Highlands, it was a welcome experience to spend three nights at the HIX. The front desk staff was super welcoming and could not do enough for us, from grabbing wine glasses from the bar for our room consumed wine to alerting us to the time a football team of youngsters would be descending for breakfast. The breakfast is fine (would have liked to see porridge) and the room is more spacious than you normally see in HI properties. Wifi is strong and fast. Room w... Read more

Our new Garmin GPS had us driving circles in midtown until we stopped to ask directions. Only on of these in town and we were miles away. Driving was tough for this Yank. Finally arrived after a short drive. Staff was welcoming and very friendly. Our room was wonderful. We ere here for two nights. Finally, an elevator (lift). The dining area doubled as the bar and lobby seating. Very spacious. A full bar. Nearby dining was available but again, one had to deal with a couple of roundabou... Read more

The room was clean and comfortable - staff were helpful and professional. The hotel is a brisk 40 minute walk into the main town area but cabs are available. The hotel offers a good breakfast but no lunch or dinner. They do have a snack bar near reception. Immediately in front of the hotel is the Snow Goose pub - fantastic food and excellent value!

The hotel is awesome but a little outside main city. food is great in the hotel but there are also burger king, pizza hut nearby. There is also NEXT, TESKO at walking distance. The rooms are great. staff is good. Breakfast is OKAY. overall nice experience.

I agree with a previous review - you can always count on Holiday Inn. We stayed here for the better part of a week. It was a comfortable stay - clean room, comfy bed, good wifi, decent free breakfast selection. The front desk was very helpful in pointing out recommended places for us to dine in town (you'll need to drive in or grab a cab) and also to grab food locally (the Snow Goose is right on premises and pretty good; TESCO is a stones throw away). The hotel was hopping with people every ... Read more

We visited this hotel in late May for three nights. We have used this hotel over the years on our numerous trips to Inverness. We find it convenient -as just a few minutes drive into town. Plus has free car parking. Also restaurant across car park and petrol station nearby. Find the hotel staff always pleasant and rooms comfortable and clean. We like the breakfast area - nicer than other like hotels. We particularly like the white towels and sheets. On this visit however we were disappointed... Read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my one night stay at the HIE in Inverness. As with the HIE at Dublin Airport, my check in was fast and friendly and the room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. I had thought that all HIEs would be the same but there were a few small but welcome differences. Inverness provided a pen in the room rather than a pencil, the hot drink dispenser provided a hot chocolate option (good for children and for those of us who drink neither tea nor coffee) and, for the Vegemite-depr... This is a nice, clean hotel to stay at near Inverness and about 1 1/2 hours from distilleries in Speyside or 1/2 hour from Loch Ness. It was a quiet hotel with good breakfast and bar if you need food or drink in the evening.

Nice clean hotel. Staff very good but a couple of massive let downs. Breakfast is very mediocre considering Scotland is famed for this meal. Nothing authentic. We expected more than the basic fare that you get at every other HI to be honest. Hotel to far from town with no transport. Its not terrible but we wont be going back.

We stayed her over the weekend. Staff unfailingly friendly and polite. Breakfast much better than we expected for free. Only eggs beans and sausages were hot but they were fresh and so was the 'continental' part of the breakfast. Very relaxed dining area. Room is as you would expect but was clean and modern and the wifi worked well. Hotel is quite a way out of Inverness but the buses are very frequent from the stop opposite the fuel station next door.

Warm welcome from reception staff. Room was nice and clean but a bit small when the sofa bed was out. A great room for 2, a bit squishy for 3 but we made it work. Sofa bed mattress, you could feel all the springs so not very comfortable. Main bed was very comfortable with a choice of soft or hard pillow. Ensuite and shower were great. Breakfast is a continental buffet style with eggs, sausages and baked beans if you wanted. Simple but sufficient. Location: it was out of town a little way... Read more

I stayed here for 3 nights last week with my wife and a 7 year old daughter. To begin with Hotel is out of the Town area (but Inverness is a small city) and takes around 10-15 mins to reach by cab (costs $15 one way). It also has a nice retail center very near to it (5 mins walk) which has shopping mall, food outlets and some good shops. The mall (Tesco) is open 24 hours. Also right across the road is sea (though you dont see it from the hotel). Worst part is the room..specially if you have kids... Read more

Clean and modern enough but for the price I expected more. No catering - you have to walk over the car park to the local pub and very limited breakfast. Staff are pleasant but for the money I would choose somewhere better value for money in future.

As usual the welcome from reception staff was excellent. This visit we had an accessible room on the ground floor as we had a wheelchair. The facilities were very good, in particular a large bathroom with a huge shower with plenty of handrails. We had to fill in a short questionairre so that staff knew that we needed help in case of an emergency eg a fire on the premises. There was plenty of room in the Breakfast room to park the wheelchair .The breakfast was of a good standard.

If you have to make a short stop in Inverness this is a reasonable option. Relatively close to airport and not far from downtown. Good pub restaurant across the street. Rate is higher than the cost of identical lodging (same chain) in Scotland. Probably competitive for the Inverness area. Size of rooms is small, albeit well designed. Breakfast is average.

Stayed here for 5 nights on business in Inverness. Nice close to the airport, shopping center within walking distance, and good restaurant nearby. Nice rooms, fine service, avarage breakfast and free fast wifi, That's all I need. I can recommend this hotel for a stay in Inverness

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. Its out of the city. The only nearby site is a shopping mall within walking distance. It has an excellent restaurant within its garden. (The snow goose) The beds were clean but the room was not. (There was some litter left by previous guest on the floor) The only cleaning utensil in the bathroom was a dispenser. (not even a soap bar) Breakfast is weak.

Fairly new hotel. Very clean, nine sheets. The rooms are small, so a short stay would be better. Good breakfast. Only 6 miles from the airport. Easy parking. A nice restaurant is next to the property, Snow Goose. My only criticism was that there are too few electric outlets.

Stayed 3 nights, which was just about right because of room size(just enough room for 2) . The room was kept in good order during our stay &the beds were good. The staff on front desk were helpful &understanding, most of the other staff had difficulty understanding plain English!!!. We had never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before and I have to say we were not disappointed. The hotel was getting busy on the eve of the Scottish Golf Open Championship but our check in was very smooth and found the receptionist Madara (hope I have her name correct) was both informative and knowledgeable when we asked about the locality and hotel amenities. Off to the room we went and the first that hits you is how clean and fresh the hotel was. The room itself was similar and you quickly a... Read more

And they treated us well. Rooms were small by American standards but overall comfortable and clean.. Shower was very nice. I don't understand why most European hotels don't provide small face washcloths as these folks don't either. Breakfast was good enough and served it's purpose. In and out with no issues. Would return.

after having stayed in many places with local 'color', it felt a little strange to be in a holiday inn. but it was kind of refreshing, as the woman, Anne, at the desk, was incredibly knowledgable and extremely helpful. it was nice to have a sandwich machine right there, and a large comfy shower and it was just the right place for us at that point in our trip.

Stayed two nights on a leisure break having used the hotel many times on business before retiring three years ago. As always service was top notch and the room was clean and well presented. Everything you would expect from a budget hotel but just that little bit above its competitors. Breakfast is included in the rate and is self service, basic but adequate. The hotel had been refurbished since my last stay in 2013 and was looking fresh and modern. Inverness prices are higher than Expresses... Read more

I stayed here recently on my trip to the Highlands. This is one of my first few stays at a holiday inn property and I am disappointed. Nothing wrong with the staff but the breakfast was terrible and the rooms were tiny! The room isn't exactly cheap so it's a little surprising that the room were so tiny. I took a room with a double bed and a sofa bed. When you lay out the sofa bed, there's literally no room to walk. Breakfast - we decided to stick to the coffee and muffins after the sausages ... Little too far out of the centre if you don't have a car, but there is on site parking. Taxis were £6.50 to £8 each way. Room at hotel was clean and comfortable, and service was a bit over the top to be honest at check-in when I showed my IHG card. Breakfast was usual buffet but the bacon was really pale. There is an 'old vintage inn' pub the other side of the car park, which is mainly a food pub, average quality but handy to have on site. Would stay again, but wouldn't be my first choice.
