This hotel was very nice for our one night stay. Friendly staff, clean and a good size room. The bathroom was good with a decent shower compared to others we've had on our trip. Plenty of parking with a pub offering nice food across the road. The hotel is not in the city centre but if you have a car that isnt a problem as its a quick direct route to the town centre. Breakfast was simple but still nice. I would have given anther half star if I could. The only reason it didn't get a 5 was the doub... Read more

My Husband and I stayed here overnight for a surprise birthday treat for him on the 12th of May 2016. First impressions were good, the grounds were clean tidy and welcoming. The Reception staff also were friendly, warm and very welcoming, explaining everything we needed to know about our stay. The room we had on the second floor was spacious, clean, and fresh, the bed was very comfortable, although one of the pillows was a little lumpy, but this didn't hinder our stay and as mentioned to the rece... Stayed one night in this hotel. Hotel provides free parking and is only a 10 mins drive to city center. Tesco extra is just situated beside it which makes shopping of necessities easy. Room is clean and the beds are comfy. A bar is available and the drinks purchased can be brought into the rooms. Service staff is friendly and efficient. Price is very reasonable.

After two weeks driving around the Highlands, it was a welcome experience to spend three nights at the HIX. The front desk staff was super welcoming and could not do enough for us, from grabbing wine glasses from the bar for our room consumed wine to alerting us to the time a football team of youngsters would be descending for breakfast. The breakfast is fine (would have liked to see porridge) and the room is more spacious than you normally see in HI properties. Wifi is strong and fast. Room w... Read more

The room was clean and comfortable - staff were helpful and professional. The hotel is a brisk 40 minute walk into the main town area but cabs are available. I agree with a previous review - you can always count on Holiday Inn. We stayed here for the better part of a week. It was a comfortable stay - clean room, comfy bed, good wifi, decent free breakfast selection. The front desk was very helpful in pointing out recommended places for us to dine in town (you'll need to drive in or grab a cab) and also to grab food locally (the Snow Goose is right on premises and pretty good; TESCO is a stones throw away). I thoroughly enjoyed my one night stay at the HIE in Inverness. As with the HIE at Dublin Airport, my check in was fast and friendly and the room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. I had thought that all HIEs would be the same but there were a few small but welcome differences. Inverness provided a pen in the room rather than a pencil, the hot drink dispenser provided a hot chocolate option (good for children and for those of us who drink neither tea nor coffee) and, for the Vegemite-depr... Nice clean hotel. Staff very good but a couple of massive let downs. Breakfast is very mediocre considering Scotland is famed for this meal. Nothing authentic. We expected more than the basic fare that you get at every other HI to be honest. Hotel to far from town with no transport. Its not terrible but we wont be going back.

We stayed her over the weekend. Staff unfailingly friendly and polite. Breakfast much better than we expected for free. Only eggs beans and sausages were hot but they were fresh and so was the 'continental' part of the breakfast. Very relaxed dining area. Room is as you would expect but was clean and modern and the wifi worked well. Hotel is quite a way out of Inverness but the buses are very frequent from the stop opposite the fuel station next door.

Warm welcome from reception staff. Room was nice and clean but a bit small when the sofa bed was out. A great room for 2, a bit squishy for 3 but we made it work. Sofa bed mattress, you could feel all the springs so not very comfortable. Main bed was very comfortable with a choice of soft or hard pillow. Ensuite and shower were great. As usual the welcome from reception staff was excellent. This visit we had an accessible room on the ground floor as we had a wheelchair. The facilities were very good, in particular a large bathroom with a huge shower with plenty of handrails. We had to fill in a short questionairre so that staff knew that we needed help in case of an emergency eg a fire on the premises. There was plenty of room in the Breakfast room to park the wheelchair .The breakfast was of a good standard.

If you have to make a short stop in Inverness this is a reasonable option. Relatively close to airport and not far from downtown. Good pub restaurant across the street. Rate is higher than the cost of identical lodging (same chain) in Scotland. Probably competitive for the Inverness area. Size of rooms is small, albeit well designed. Breakfast is average.

Little too far out of the centre if you don't have a car, but there is on site parking. Taxis were £6.50 to £8 each way. Room at hotel was clean and comfortable, and service was a bit over the top to be honest at check-in when I showed my IHG card. Breakfast was usual buffet but the bacon was really pale. There is an 'old vintage inn' pub the other side of the car park, which is mainly a food pub, average quality but handy to have on site. Would stay again, but wouldn't be my first choice.

It is what it says it is. A holiday inn express. What you get is a comfortable, clean ensuite bedroom and a basic breakfast and excellent value for money. What sets this HIE apart is the staff.
