Stayed here for a night and had a well sized, comfortable room looking over the river which was lovely. Plenty of car parking spaces behind the hotel. The location was perfect too, within walking distance to the main places of the city.

This is a nice hotel overlooking the river Ness. Plenty of parking around the back. Breakfast was good and cappuccinos too. The bar has plenty of whisky to try and the bartender was very knowledgeable, it would be nice if they offered free snacks with your drinks, a few nuts maybe? They seemed a little short on staff as the bartender (who checked us into the hotel also) had to take our orders and clear tables. Our room was in the Winsor suite across the driveway, it was a nice room overall, not ... Read more

Great location, great views, great bar (cocktails lovely), great restaurant, great staff, but £150 for one night (incl. breakfast) not great at all. Let's face it, we chose a hotel as we need to sleep. All the other great stuff is a bonus, hence my 3 circle rating. I stayed in room 1 which whilst spacious looked into the car park and outdoor seating area. Closed my curtains the entire time and despite having a frosted window in the bathroom I kept my blind shut. On finally getting into my... Read more

This was a wee gem of a hotel. It is situated beside the river and is walking distance to the city centre. Large room with a huge bed. It was located in the annexe with a key pad entry. We were at the back on the ground floor. Hotel was very clean. The breakfast was super and the service was great. The only down side was the bathroom, There was only an electric shower, which didn't bother me but I do wish hotels would put a decent shower in. The one in the room wasn't bad but it could have b... Breakfast excellent, staff very friendly, room very clean and comfortable however it did lack sockets for hairdrying etc... apart from that no complaints... central to the shops and does have ouside river view for enjoying a drink in the evening. Close to Eden Court also. All in all an excellent small hotel.

The hotel sits on the edge of the river and gives beautiful view of it. The room were good but the bathroom layout was tricky. It has a great bar with live piano player. The bartender is very knowledgeable about whiskeys and gave us whiskeys to try which suited our palate. Shame we couldn't try the restaurant as it didn't have many vegetarian options. The breakfast was quite good with cooked breakfast (nice options) plus pastries, cereal, toast. Overall a good stay.

Cannot fault The Glenmoriston. Great bedroom with huge corner bath. Lovely staff in all sections. Copious breakfast and had dinner and lunch there, both excellent. A lovely outlook and close to the city amenities. Makes a great base for exploring the Highlands. I will certainly stay again and this time for longer.

The hotel has a great location in Inverness, just along the river Ness, with a beautiful view from the room window! We enjoyed the comfortable and stylishly furnished room, as well as the breakfast in the morning! The hotel has a Michelin guide restaurant that makes both breakfast and dinner.

Our stay at the Glenmoriston Town House was lovely! Room was bright and clean with king bed and large windows , all 3 of them looking directly out on the river! Bath was updated with combined bath/shower. Staff friendly and accommodating. Nice bar and restaurant.

We stayed here for one night and had two rooms - one of which was a decent sized double and was a good room (although a terrible view) and one was a "double for sole occupancy" and was not great. It was small and felt second rate - for a cost of £150 per night. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was also a mixed bag. Despite booking in advance, it was nearly an hour from our reservation time before we had any food, and the main courses were not impressive - steaks done perfectly but with... Read more

Stayed at Glenmoriston recently and could not fault it in any way. From check in to check out all staff we encountered at reception, bar and breakfast were attentive, knowledgeable and met our needs. We had a superior double overlooking river, big spacious room, very clean, excellent shower. Used bar and good selection of cocktails on offer, excellent mojito. Extensive selection of whiskies on offer and barman very knowledgeable on these when we asked for particular one, apparently biggest s... Read more

We booked this hotel 9 months prior to arrival for attending the Rod Stewart concert. we had 2 double deluxe with Riverview rooms and 1 club-double room booked. On arrival, check in was nice and easy and we were all allocated our rooms. We had 5,10, (double deluxe) 15 (club double) (15 was then changed to 25) On arrival at room 15, we found that there was someone else already in the room, which was a bit of a shock! They swiftly moved it to 25 which was located on the 1st floor at the front o... Read more

We stayed here 2 nights and chose it as it was the pickup point for our Caledonian Canal barge trip. The staff were very helpful and responsive and were able to store our large bag for a week while we travelled on the barge. Breakfast was included and provided excellent choices. Our room was adequate, but at back of the building and had fewer amenities than indicated when booked through hotel.com - We took this up with manager who apologized but said he had no control over what information Ho... We booked 2 nights at the Glenmoriston Town House ... Firstly try and avoid if there is a wedding on ... We found the service sadly very ordinary as staff were caught up attending to wedding guests rather than 'inhouse' guests ... Secondly ask which floor they have booked you in as there are no lifts and we had to walk up 4 flights of stairs ...plus room 11 had Dormer Windows which we kept hitting our heads on ... Thirdly if you are after a drink in the bar don't bother ... We waited and waited... Read more

We were very disappointed with the Glenmoriston hotel and being a four star hotel I would have expected better. We stayed here for two nights in May and had booked a standard double room , The room was very small more like the broom cupboard right in the corner with no proper wardrobe or even drawers, there was a small hanging space but still no drawers apart from one which was taken up with an hairdryer and brochures., even the bedside table had no drawers which I think is really bad. The hotel is in a great location on the edge of the river and near to the castle and city centre. The staff are all really friendly and helpful, with Robert and Saphire looking after us for drinks and food respectively The meal was superb, and the selection of malt whiskies is excellent with Robert being very knowledgeable on the various characteristics of most of them. Would definitely recommend this hotel as one of, if not the best in Inverness.

Great choice with an amazing staff! This location on the river was so relaxing and yet it came alive at night with wedding celebrations, dinner reservations, and lots of activity in the lounge. Book ahead if you want to dine in the restaurant. The bar was fully stocked with single malt whiskies and the bartender was very knowledgeable. Our room was nice, but nothing fancy. It was comfortable. The phone was not working properly so it was hard to communicate with our other family member on an... Read more

Our party of 9 adults had a great dinner in late June. Highlights included the cod cakes, the salmon (naturally), and the home made pasta. Great service, nice selection of local beers, and wines. It is located right on the River Ness, in a very scenic part of the city.

We were bought a night away hear as a gift and were very pleased. Our room was lovely and very clean and the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed a cocktail in the piano bar and will certainly return to try out the restaurant as we already had reservations in town. The only reason I gave 4* instead of 5* was because our room was ground floor at the back of the hotel so we were woken about 5:30am with I'm guessing staff arriving/leaving for work and it was quite noisey until nearer 8am. Otherwise... Read more

I was taken here by my husband for my birthday in Feb... I had champagne and strawberrys waiting in the room which was beautiful and overlooked the river.. Stunning... The whole experience at this hotel was outstanding... We ate the taster menu in the restaurant which is one of the best meals I've eaten... The icing on the cake was the porridge and a nip for breakfast... Pure birthday heaven... The beds were that squishy that I photographed the label in the hope of buying one!!

This hotel has a lovely location and a good restaurant. The rooms were clean - however, ours was extremely dark, even during the day, as there was no overhead light. Made it very difficult to pack and move around. When we checked in, we asked if breakfast was included. The receptionist looked at her computer and said "Yes, it's included in your booking." So we had breakfast at the restaurant. When we checked out, they insisted on charging us for the (expensive - $25 each!) breakfast, because i... Read more

When we arrived it was pouring rain, and we decided to stay in to eat supper. My husband and I argued about whose food was best, it was that good. He had lamb and I had a pasta dish, wine and scotch. Our room was at the front of the hotel with a soggy view of the swollen river, and in the morning, the windows were fogged over, encouraging us to just sleep in a bit longer. There is a nice walk along the river, so it was fun to sit near the window over breakfast and watch people walk by. Of a... Read more

I came to the Glenmoriston Hotel Inverness in July on a business trip attending a meeting in the same hotel and staying the night. The website picture of the room bear no resemblance to room 12 that I was given, take a look at the pictures. I complained and was told no other room was available. For the price of £189 per night, booked 4 weeks in advance this is terrible. Bar are was very nice with lots of whisky choice and restaurant food quality reasonable. Just a short walk along the banks of the river will see you in the main area of the City. But coming back to the hotel: fantastic in every way, the staff, warm welcoming atmosphere, restaurant serving fantastic food and the bar with what could be the largest collection of Malts I have yet to see. Many thanks for making our visit to Inverness all the much better.

Stayed here one night during a tour of norther Scotland. The room was very small and did not have many outlets. Hard these days when there aren't enough outlets. The bath was very nice and updated but again not many places to put your toiletries. Nice enough for one night but wouldn't want to stay here for a longer period. The restaurant for dinner was very nice and service very good. Not as good for breakfast but food was good.

Lovely small hotel by the river in a great location to walk about town. The staff is cheerful and responsive. The breakfast is delicious. The bedroom was well appointed but not very big and the bathroom only has a small shower. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here twice - once on our way up to the far North and on our way back down. Location is great - a 5 - 10 minute walk to the railway and bus station but in a quiet location next to the river. We stayed in the lowest category of room as on both occasions we were arriving later on and leaving straight after breakfast. Rooms were perfectly adequate and beds extremely comfortable.

Room was a but on the small side for the rate charged and had no bath only shower but it was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was a total let down, it was cooked badly and with cheap produce, myself and my husband ended up with just toast it was that bad !

I am a Luxury Tourist so I am somewhat jaded when an establishment says they are Luxury but does not deliver. I booked the largest room I could find at a Hotel with good reviews. It was okay. Warning: No Air Conditioning, they give you a table fan, No Elevator, you will be lugging your bags. Deluxe River view room: Don't expect to see much river. Save your money and don't get the Chocolate Dipped Strawberries.
