It's the first time staying in this hotel and was booked last minute. The staff were good helpful and pollite but £6 for parking, it should be first come first "parked", The room was smaller than expected but for the three of us big enough. Bar was ok bit more than pub prices but ok the only thing that let it down a bit was breakfast the dinning area is small ,but it was bank holiday weekend and hotel was full, we ended up eating on the couch and choice is limited my main problem was no bacon s... 2 of my work colleagues and I fairly regularly hold "breakfast meetings" in various establishments. We decided to give this a go as had heard it was very good. We were sadly let down. The choice of continental breads was poor - either bread or croissants , there was no bacon only 3 items of cooked to choose from - sausage, scrambled egg and beans. The coffee was not good quality and the seating and tables were very basic. I felt bad for my colleagues as I had suggested this venue and when you c... Read more

Travelled to Grimsby for business and was planning to stay for 4 nights initially. Ended up having to extend the stay to 7 nights. Since I booked the room through a corporate system I asked if I could stay in the same room and this was arranged by the reception. I think the hotel provides great facilities - spacious rooms, pretty of lighting in the rooms, good breakfast, helpful staff. I had no problems with noise and could not hear the trains even though the hotel is right next to the station. ... Read more

I stayed here before just after it opened and found it to be excellent with really friendly staff and was pleased to see things haven't changed. Some familiar faces amongst the staff but the same warm welcome. Room was as you would expect, clean tidy and comfortable. Bar food is limited but the pizza and burger options were as good as you would get in a fast food joint. Breakfast was available from 6.30 so a real bonus. Parking in the small car park is now controlled by a barrier so a bit o... Read more

I had to stay in Grimsby for Armed Forces Day weekend at the national event in Cleethorpes and used my Platinum Ambassador perk to get a room here. I had hired a white van man to bring my large mobility scooter to the event and the issue was where to park it. This is the first of the fourth generation Holiday Inn Express hotels, and they have got the design spot on in my opinion. Firstly the staff were wonderful, they could not have been more helpful and pleasant. The room was excellent, a ... Read more

A small group of us arrived at this Hotel for the Armed Forces weekend being staged in nearby Cleethorpes. The hotel was easy to find and was in a quiet location, although very close to the town centre and it's nightlife. The train station is about 400 yards from the hotel which made our journey to Cleethorpes swift. I can't praise the staff enough as a semi wheelchair user. They really could not do enough for us. Well done to all staff that were on during the weekend of June 24th to 26th. I app... Read more

Spire level with IHG, and first time I have stayed in the new version of the HI Express room. Really impressed with the room, furniture and features (like usb charging sockets in the plugs). Though the room looked really smart. Prefer the small table to work as than the desk. Bed was comfortable. There was also a great big window to let some light in. The only downside I saw was a bit 'snagging' needs done in the bathroom, as there was a crack and some loose wall tiles. the car park also looks... Read more

Stayed here for two nights in the past week and have been blown away by how fantastic this hotel is! Staff are amazingly friendly, attentive and caring, especially Hannah who I happened to deal with most during my stay, she was just ace at settling me in quickly during check in! The room was top range, was on the top floor, nice view and super quiet! Room was spotless and perfectly ample for what I needed if not more so, hate being hot so the air con was just luxury and the TV was massive, bed... Read more

My friends were staying there and I went to spend the evening with them when they had finished work. I found the staff not very helpful and was asked to wait outside for them as I was not residing in the hotel as it was raining slightly I asked if it was possible to stay indoors . after a few minutes they reluctantly agreed but only after one of my friends staying there had something to say. Really disappointed

Stayed with my wife for 3 days, coinciding with the hottest days of the year. Our respite from the heat was the lovely cool rooms in the hotel. And sitting outside the nearby Wetherspoons, the Yarborough Hotel. We were exploring Grimsby for fun, and really enjoyed our stay. I can recommend the chippie around the corner, the St James. But back to the point - the hotel was great. Everything worked just fine, the staff ( especially Kyle and the breakfast team ) were unfailingly helpful and friendly... Read more

The room was clean and comfortable but there were no drawers or cupboards; I suppose this is what "Express" means. The buffet breakfast was good although the items were limited. Having looked for places to stay in or around the Grimsby area for a wedding we decided to go for the Holiday Inn. To give you an idea on location, the wedding was in Healing Manor and it took approx.15 minutes to get there by taxi at a cost of around £12. The hotel itself was great. Upon arrival you park your car around the back of the hotel at a cost £6 per day, which I thought was reasonable. It's controlled by a electric barrier which adds some security. This is what happens when you design and invest in a hotel that is built for the modern traveller. It is probably one of the most practical hotels I have ever stayed in. Apart from the fact it's almost brand new, it's designed in bright modern colours too. It has USB charge points at each side of the bed. Can you believe they have even realised that when installing a full length mirror, it may also be wise to install a couple of power points underneath for straighteners/hair dryer ? What an i...
