Good things: it's in a very lovely setting, and the main public areas of this old house are absolutely lovely. Bedroom: less so. Too many things not working; the bathroom not clean, etc. And accessibility is an issue: there's no lift, no offer of help with heavy luggage, and signage is poor / missing make it hard to find my room on arrival. Food: "Restaurant 1881" reasonable but not exceptional; bar food pretty decent. All in all - if you want a pretty setting for an event, this may well be... Read more

We are both senior citizens and found this hotel had no lifts it was a effort to carry our cases to our room the room was okay but quite dangerous to get boiled water into a cup the cable wasn't long enough to use the lamp was very unfit as plug was broken. If you parked your car to go on vacation be expected to get it washed as soon as you return

We always stay here when flying from Gatwick. Free parking for two weeks (and cheap for more). Wonderful gardens - bluebell woods, amphitheatre, forgotten walled garden, and magnificent views. The restaurant is good, the rooms comfy if traditional, but drinks on the terrace, just ten minutes from the airport are perfect!

Arriving you have to be impressed by the grounds. Beautifully kept gardens with a wonderful drive leading to an impressive building. On entering the woodwork hits the eye. A fantastic ceiling, again in wood, covers a sitting area with leather seating and a great fireplace. Reception was carried out very quickly and we decided to have a drink first in their patio bar. Very Portuguese influence with champagne bottles, of the various sizes, adorned the wall. After a drink we made our way to our roo... Read more

This was a last minute booking, the area was busy and I was desperate for a room. Sympathetic to my situation, the management offered me their last remaining bed for the night, which happened to be a four poster in spacious double room, at a hugely discounted rate. I ordered an evening meal in the bar, the kitchen was busy and my food was slightly delayed. Without prompting, I was offered a free glass of champagne to compensate for the inconvenience. The staff could not have been more pleasant a... Read more

The overnight accommodation and parking deal is quite reasonable. No meals included and food is a bit pricey, even bar snacks. The room was fine with a comfortable bed and decent over bath shower. Tea and coffee making facilities. Beware of springtime parking as the car park is surrounded by trees. Our car was covered in sap ladden blossom which took ages to dislodge.

Stayed here for one night taking advantage of the parking of my car for the duration of our holiday ( 2 weeks) The stay was okay but I was appalled when I picked up my vehicle from the car park. I was informed on arrival my car could be moved in case of emergency therefore leaving the car keys with the reception. On my return the car was in a disgraceful mess, full of tree sap ,bird droppings and foliage off the trees, this was a good welcome back after a long flight. I complained to reception aski... Read more

A lovely hotel, if a little dated in parts. Would recommend for a stop-over for Gatwick airport which is very close. Despite proximity to Gatwick, very quiet and lovely secluded ground. Staff were helpful and bar food was good. Would book again if travelling from Gatwick.

We searched TripAdvisor for reviews on parking around Gatwick Airport, we had decided on Purple parking at first until reading the reviews and quickly looked elsewhere, it sounded the equivalent of Easirent car hire which is abysmal so checked out Stanhill Court Hotel. It was offered online at £99 for overnight room and weeks parking but I phoned the hotel to check their security as reviews weren't great. I was offered the room and parking for £90 which I accepted but still wasn't one hindered... Read more

Stayed here for one night before a holiday with 2 weeks car parking. Staff were pleasant and checked us in quickly. The hotel has lovely grounds but is very old . The room was tiny and very old fashioned it had a four poster bed when there really wasn't the room for it. The rooms were all situated around a massive landing and big open staircase which made it very noisy. It sounded like people were in the room with you. We did not get a good night sleep before a long flight. The car was absolutel... Read more

Like most, stayed here on route to Gatwick, also stayed for a night on the way back. Staff are great and nothing too much trouble, rooms and common areas are adequate and full of periodic furniture which adds to the atmosphere, TV and coffee making facilities could be better for a hotel of this rating, but adequate. Grounds are lovely and easy enough to get to the airport. Car parking was safe and plenty of room. Food was great and well cooked, but variety is lacking. Breakfast was good but if... Read more

I took taxi: attractive drive way in to the property. Hundreds of cars in the parking lot, I assumed there must be a big wedding on: but no: it's airport parking! I'm sure they make more from that than the hotel!! Not very appealing, in the lovely rural setting. One man on the desk, who was tending bar, check ins etc. No offer of assistance with luggage, after my overnight flight. The place is dirty: the carpets are filthy: lots of cobwebs. Quite peaceful: very attentive service for lunch and... Read more

We stayed at the Stanhill Court Hotel the night before our holiday. We had booked a one night stay and two week parking. The price was great we got it for £99 for the room and the parking included. The hotel is a very good looking handsome old building with character set in wooded parkland. The inside is oldie worldy and they look to have good function facilities. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on the 24 & 25 June. We arrived at about 5pm on the 24 June and the first problem was trying to find a parking place as the car park was full (Parking is between trees and on mud). We left our car and went upstairs to unpack. On our return to the car a couple of hours later I was challenged by a man who I presume was the manager, he thought I was going to leave my car where it was and go on holiday. He asked me to leave my key in reception. I told ... Read more

Arrived the day before flying for what we expected to be a relaxing build-up to our holiday the following day. This hotel is stunning, relaxed on the patio prior to our evening meal. We had booked a room for 1 night, 3 course dinner and hotel parking for 14 nights. The 1st 2 courses of our meal were excellent, then... we were informed that desserts would be delayed for a short time as there was a 'Prom's Night' on. We dutifully went outside onto the patio for 20minutes. On our arrival back to th... Read more

Very impressive drive down to what could be a beautiful hotel. Left the car here for a week whilst we went on holiday. Late arrival back for our post holiday night's stay. Met by nice young man who checked us in. No help with two heavy cases though. Room was small but on first glance, quite pretty. This is where a little maintenance began to be needed. The toilet in room would NOT flush however hard we tried. The shower head would not stay in place and kept dropping down, washing the back wall ... Read more

This is a hotel with a beautiful interior and a lovely setting outside. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. It's quite close to Gatwick and it's very convenient to park your car for your holidays. A cab for four of us to the airport was £16.00. The staff were pleasant and friendly. There is no lift and trying to find our rooms was a little annoying, not expecting a Sherpa or OS map but perhaps slightly better service in that department. There is no lift, stairs only. My husband and I had our wedding reception here on 2nd July 2016 and we loved every minute! Many guests stayed the night before and for several days after the wedding. For the Saturday we had exclusive access to the hotel, meaning only wedding guests were able to stay. We felt thoroughly looked after by the staff for the entire stay, not just the wedding night. Stayed here for 1 night before flying and 1 night on our return. Have been here on several occasions and would highly recommend it. The price for a room and parking is not much more than you can pay for a weeks parking near Gatwick and you put the car in the car park, and there it stays.(No Hulligans or Muddy Fields) We had a room with a four poster, and a big bath (shower over) No lifts not a problem for us,not sure about disabled status. We stayed here before flying from Gatwick on holiday. We chose it for the ease of parking for a week. We found the house and grounds absolutely delightful, although the grounds have become a little dilapidated. Such a pity. The first room we stayed in before our early morning departure was superb. The room we were offered on our return and before our homeward journey, was not good. I was advise asking for a room in the newer wing of the house.

Honestly one of the most appalling places I have ever had the displeasure to stay in terms of terrible customer services. My husband and I came to stay here before flying from Gatwick airport. For people choosing to use this hotel for an airport stay with parking I would strongly advise you not to. The airport / long stay "car park" is NOT a car park. It is essentially a little wood to the side of the property with a small amount of hard standing put down to make a road. There is no security... Read more

We have stayed hear a couple of times now and both times have been very good. The hotel offers airport parking with a £10 taxi transfer to/from the airport. We were meant to be staying at the White Horse in Dorking as we had a wedding nearby and it was the recommended hotel. But the day before we were called to say that we couldn't stay in the White Horse as the boiler was broken and there wasn't hot water in a number of the rooms.
