A charity dinner dance is always nice or so I thought.....The Kings has a nice bright and modern interior when you walk in my advice leave it at that and go to the fish and chip shop next door. I had chosen chicken liver parfait, roast lamb with garlic and a warm chocolate and hazelnut brownie. What I got was a warm toothpasty like substance in a trendy kilner jar with 3 small traingles of well done toast the toast had more flaovour than the accompanying paste and it was all served very slowly by... Booked a Groupon deal for £89, one night and 2 course evening meal, with breakfast. Great deal. We booked it for our Wedding Anniversary, unfortunately we had to change the date at last minute (3 hours before we could check in). The lovely receptionist I spoke to on the phone granted this, no problem, no fuss, just changed it to the date we could make it. When we arrived going the scenic route through gorgeous Marlow Town Centre, we were really pleased, as the hotel was situated by a couple... Read more

Stayed one night as it was close to venue on Sunday our room was very small and very tired looking but clean and warm. The meal in restaurant was tasty and well presented and the staff very attentive. The bar area was smart and modern and again all staff were very friendly and polite I would recommend this hotel to stay in.

I stayed at the Kings Hotel for work and would highly recommend it. The room was spotless and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The real highlight was the food!, I had the set menu which had more than enough choice and the service was fast. I will definitely stay again whether for work or pleasure.

Stayed for one night as a weekend getaway after visiting family. Sunday night so not very busy. Check in was efficient and we were soon in our room. The room was small but adequate, clean and well equipped with flat screen TV, hair dryer, fan and tea coffee making facilities. Bathroom with shower over with a shower curtain, which I don't really like as they always stick to you when showering. However, the shower worked very well and was easy to control and get the right temperature. Only issue w... Read more

I tend to use this hotel for business lunches as it is located close to the M40. The food is good, the seating comfortable, and the service excellent. The public areas of the hotel are maintained to a high standard, I have never stayed overnight so I can't comment on the bedrooms.

we were married here 8 years ago and returned to stay for a romantic evening it as just as we remembered stylish and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone looking for stylish accommodation with friendly staff and a good restaurant all under the one roof.

The Kings Hotel is from the outside a beautiful building and inside the ground floor is attractive, modern, well kept and the staff are friendly and helpful (if not a little over worked). The bedrooms however are cramped, dusty, noisy from the air conditioning units and noisy from the wedding party taking place downstairs and spilling out into the street at the front. The black out curtains do not fit the windows. The double beds can best be described as large singles and although comfortabl... Read more

Stayed at this hotel on a Saturday as had a wine tour booked in chiltern valley the next morning. It's an attractive building from the outside. The rooms were clean and comfortable (bed / pillow particularly so) but they were small & need a bit of TLC, for example - the tap in the bathroom was wobbly, the extractor fan didn't work and the paint work (in bathroom) was a bit shabby. There was also a wedding taking place, the hotel isn't huge so we had to share the bar, breakfast room and other com... Read more

Stayed at relatively short notice at the Kings Arms for two nights. Were given a room on the second floor at the back of the hotel which was very quiet that was great. Room was clean and with a very comfortable bed - we both slept very well. My only observation is the hotel needs a bit of money spent on it. It feels just a little dated throughout and we had a few minor issues. In our room the bathroom basin had large cracks, the shower tray was falling off the wall and the TV didn't really wor... On arrival we were shown to a table, seemed very good service. Partner asked for Cabernet Sauvignon and got Sauvignon Blanc. White wine instead of Red. She likes that too so didn't make a fuss and took it. Food order took quite a while even though there were very few people in. I had asked for steak and "Hand cut " chips. No veg, nothing at all, just the steak and chips. It eventually arrived with Garlic butter on it. Had waited so long I wasn't happy but just scraped it off. The waiter was very... Read more

Only stayed here one night before an interview the next day. My room, although small was well appointed and very comfortable with plenty of nice pillows. Small bathroom but again fit for purpose and as it was just myself, so not an issue. Staff were all very friendly throughout my stay. I had a two course dinner (Scallops and salad then lamb with cous cous, this was all great, I had a big workout before and the nutrients and portions were great, not anything too mega but that is reflected in ... Stayed in Room 120 which was a king room. Spacious and clean (except dusty saucers!) large comfy bed. Free wifi. Asked for a quiet room which it was except you can hear people walking around in the room above as floor boards creeked a bit. Also awful view. Friendly helpful staff, great breakfast. Didn't have dinner so can't comment on that. Worth the money I would say.

We are a group of walkers (5 or 6) who occasionally drop in for lunch. We have never stayed in the hotel itself, but use the restaurant and bar for after-walk lunches. We normally order from the ala-carte (not the pensioners) menu. The last time we were there (24th of June 2016). Three of us ordered steaks and I ordered an ??aged sirloin steak?? at £19.50, not cheap. When it arrived, it was absolutely miniscule; probably 6oz at best! The so-called salad was also non-descript. We also had... Read more

We had a great one night stay at The Kings Hotel. Our room was fabulous and we had a great nights sleep. We had dinner in the restaurant which again was faultless. Portion sizes are very generous and our meal was delicious. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed for one night after a wedding in PishillOxford, our room 122 was Dissapointing very small for the price we paid breakfast was cold, the plates offered were cold and the food not very appealing. Having stayed at a premier inn the previous night for half the price where we had a very spacious clean room and a very good breakfast we would not return to the Kings. The hotel is a beautiful old building which looks as though is having a make over some very tasteful decor, but lacks some good pr... Read more

We stayed two night and this first night our room was too small, so they moved us to a much better room without any problems. What a great second night we had. The staff are fantastic, the food is great and good breakfast too.

My wife and I popped in for breakfast on Wednesday 7th of july 2016 just before they stop serving at 9am and were met by welcoming wait staff. We were sat down and told it was no problem and it was a pleasure to serve us. We ordered 2 full English breakfasts, tea, coffee which were all excellent. The sausage was especially good. It is a testament to the Kings Hotel that the staff, service and food are top quality! We will be visiting for breakfast again.

Booked a night here for my husband and I to stay the night before the British Grand Prix. We stayed in Room 239 which was tucked up in the roof which was dark, really warm and dingy with a tiny window. It was clean however the bed was tiny and we aren't large people. Staff were friendly and helpful. We paid £158 for the room which included half board. The food choice was ok. The only issue we did have was the following morning we couldn't get breakfast as it didn't start until 8am and we... Read more

First impressions are that this is more of a pub with rooms. It is located just opposite the pedestrian crossing in Stokenchurch so be prepared for some traffic noise. Room ok but in need of updating - I'm never a lover of all things brown... The beds are comfy though and we were pleased there was a fan in the room. Whilst there is some info on services for the hotel there isn't much info (apart from a few leaflets) on things of local interest. Our welcome was underwhelming and to the poin... Read more

We were made very welcome and looked after by all the staff we had dealings with. The reception staff were particularly helpful. The room was much larger than anticipated and the bed was very comfortable. The food in the bar was good for an evening meal and the breakfast was just what we wanted. I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay in the area. All the staff were polite and attentive and couldn't have asked for more. Currently still staying in this hotel in room 121, the room is a little small and does get very very hot. Some touch ups needed in the room but it's an older building and nothing drastic, that is all for the negatives On the positive side I have been relocated to this hotel after having problems at a brand spanking new hotel in Oxford, on arrival my booking for dinner hadn't been set up correctly and this was amended within minutes and I can't stress enough how important this was as I couldn't ...
