A charity dinner dance is always nice or so I thought.....The Kings has a nice bright and modern interior when you walk in my advice leave it at that and go to the fish and chip shop next door. I had chosen chicken liver parfait, roast lamb with garlic and a warm chocolate and hazelnut brownie. What I got was a warm toothpasty like substance in a trendy kilner jar with 3 small traingles of well done toast the toast had more flaovour than the accompanying paste and it was all served very slowly by... Booked a Groupon deal for £89, one night and 2 course evening meal, with breakfast. Great deal. We booked it for our Wedding Anniversary, unfortunately we had to change the date at last minute (3 hours before we could check in). The lovely receptionist I spoke to on the phone granted this, no problem, no fuss, just changed it to the date we could make it. When we arrived going the scenic route through gorgeous Marlow Town Centre, we were really pleased, as the hotel was situated by a couple... Read more

Stayed one night as it was close to venue on Sunday our room was very small and very tired looking but clean and warm. The meal in restaurant was tasty and well presented and the staff very attentive. The bar area was smart and modern and again all staff were very friendly and polite I would recommend this hotel to stay in.

I stayed at the Kings Hotel for work and would highly recommend it. The room was spotless and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The real highlight was the food!, I had the set menu which had more than enough choice and the service was fast. I will definitely stay again whether for work or pleasure.

Stayed for one night as a weekend getaway after visiting family. Sunday night so not very busy. Check in was efficient and we were soon in our room. The room was small but adequate, clean and well equipped with flat screen TV, hair dryer, fan and tea coffee making facilities. Bathroom with shower over with a shower curtain, which I don't really like as they always stick to you when showering. However, the shower worked very well and was easy to control and get the right temperature. Only issue w... Read more

I tend to use this hotel for business lunches as it is located close to the M40. The food is good, the seating comfortable, and the service excellent. The public areas of the hotel are maintained to a high standard, I have never stayed overnight so I can't comment on the bedrooms.

The Kings Hotel is from the outside a beautiful building and inside the ground floor is attractive, modern, well kept and the staff are friendly and helpful (if not a little over worked). The bedrooms however are cramped, dusty, noisy from the air conditioning units and noisy from the wedding party taking place downstairs and spilling out into the street at the front. The black out curtains do not fit the windows. The double beds can best be described as large singles and although comfortabl... Read more

Stayed at this hotel on a Saturday as had a wine tour booked in chiltern valley the next morning. It's an attractive building from the outside. The rooms were clean and comfortable (bed / pillow particularly so) but they were small & need a bit of TLC, for example - the tap in the bathroom was wobbly, the extractor fan didn't work and the paint work (in bathroom) was a bit shabby. There was also a wedding taking place, the hotel isn't huge so we had to share the bar, breakfast room and other com... Read more

Stayed at relatively short notice at the Kings Arms for two nights. Were given a room on the second floor at the back of the hotel which was very quiet that was great. Room was clean and with a very comfortable bed - we both slept very well. My only observation is the hotel needs a bit of money spent on it. It feels just a little dated throughout and we had a few minor issues. In our room the bathroom basin had large cracks, the shower tray was falling off the wall and the TV didn't really wor... On arrival we were shown to a table, seemed very good service. Partner asked for Cabernet Sauvignon and got Sauvignon Blanc. White wine instead of Red. She likes that too so didn't make a fuss and took it. Food order took quite a while even though there were very few people in. I had asked for steak and "Hand cut " chips. No veg, nothing at all, just the steak and chips. It eventually arrived with Garlic butter on it. Had waited so long I wasn't happy but just scraped it off. The waiter was very... Read more

Stayed in Room 120 which was a king room. Spacious and clean (except dusty saucers!) large comfy bed. Free wifi. Asked for a quiet room which it was except you can hear people walking around in the room above as floor boards creeked a bit. Also awful view. Friendly helpful staff, great breakfast. Didn't have dinner so can't comment on that. Worth the money I would say.

We are a group of walkers (5 or 6) who occasionally drop in for lunch. We have never stayed in the hotel itself, but use the restaurant and bar for after-walk lunches. We normally order from the ala-carte (not the pensioners) menu. The last time we were there (24th of June 2016). Three of us ordered steaks and I ordered an ??aged sirloin steak?? at £19.50, not cheap. When it arrived, it was absolutely miniscule; probably 6oz at best! The so-called salad was also non-descript.
