Booked this on Expedia last minute. got a good deal with breakfast. Liked it very cosy. The sofa bed had not been made up but they sorted this quite quickly. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was very nice with warm croissants amongst other things. TV was a bit small. Got a nice Chinese from the restaurant a couple of doors up and had it in the room. Right in the middle of Harlow Disadvantage was having to park in the multi-storey and carry the suitcase round but only £3 fee.

Well situated for shopping and eating at the Watergardens Complex. Very modern, clean hotel with well equipped spacious rooms. Lovely large walk-in shower with wall mounted soap dispenser. Good quality white towels and bedding. Free wifi available & small flat screen screen TV. The parking on site is limited & charged at £3 per night. Overflow parking is available at the multi storey car park just across the road which is not too inconvenient but maybe not ideal for women on their own -... Read more

Selected for locality, as in close to business meeting venue. Room 316 - Noise from nearby dual carriageway probably due to ill fitting window. Otherwise the room was well proportioned, large walk in shower. Was concerned the slow drainage might flood the bathroom but survived. Wi-Fi throughout Wonderful welcome by supportive members of the team, especially Amber, Thank you Guided to local Noodle Bar for an interesting dinner, recommend it, it's next door. No matter if you plan the visit or if it's a last minute option, so far the Holiday Inn Express always had a room available for us for a fair price. It's close to Harlow Town Centre and only about 7 minutes away by taxi from Harlow Train Station. The hotel is clean, the rooms are standard, but kept in good quality and very clean. The breakfast is standard English breakfast buffet, so don't expect big surprises. The Wifi works fine and if the small parking is full, there is plenty free (for hotel... Read more

My stay here for comfortable and well suited for an overnight business trip. It was a 20 minute walk from he rail station making it accessible however pathways become slightly difficult to navigate over roundabouts I would advise a taxi!, Bed was large and comfortable and there was a flat screen television and desk for doing any work. Bathroom was fabulous and clean however no shampoos/shower gel provided. Breakfast buffet had a nice selection however hot food is not fresh and kept in a heater b... Read more

We attended a concert at the Harlow Playhouse, so this location couldn't have been better! Google Maps made it much harder to figure out where all the restaurants were, but they were actually quite easy to get to and it was a simple walk back to the hotel after the show. Easy check in and clean, pleasant room. They have a taxi phone for easy ordering (since it was much easier to take a taxi to the train station in the morning, though it is walkable). They offered a wake-up call, too.

As the title states the hotel was very good. The on site car parking is very small and will not accommodate all guests. We were put in a very run down, grotty, almost horror movie looking multi story car park! We were heading off on holiday and had loads of luggage with us (5 people) and ended up having to make multiple trips to bring it all in as we weren't prepared to leave it in that car park. We would have left it in the car had we been in holiday inns own car park. the breakfast was very av... Read more

Car park too small but found a place. Staff smoking in car park, you then have to walk round to the front of the hotel and up some steps for check in. Fairly disinterested check in staff (same when I checked out). Room standard but hasn't been upgraded like many other HIE hotels and in need of new pillows. Breakfast ok but strange layout of tables which means you share with others. Will only use if I have to

I stayed for a single night as I needed to be in London early the next day. The price was excellent considering your not far from London centre. Hotel is easy to find and they have a very small car park at the rear BUT BE AWARE, you enter the car park to find it full, you then cannot get out without having firstly negotiate a small space and then have to phone the reception to get them to give you the code for the barrier. Extremely annoying when they don't answer! Have a sign/light system or... Read more

Woken at 3.30am by HGV delivering to Boots and drunken youths swearing at the back of the hotel. Off hotel car park did not feel safe at night walking back to the hotel. The hotel is surrounded by a shopping complex and roads, so if you want a good night's sleep this is not the place to come!

Generally I like HI Express, I'm a Gold member but don't like this particular hotel. Firstly the parking facilities are poor, having to park in a multi storey down the road. Then I went to the bar, asked for a large glass of wine but could only be served a small glass as they didn't have any large glasses - really! And to top it off I asked for an iron, I was directed to an ironing room on the ground floor. In what looks like a recently refurbished hotel not to have irons is poor - a disappoint... Read more

I am an IHG platinum member so I stay in a lot of holiday inn's and holiday inn expresses around the country. This has to be one of the worse I've stayed in. After a previous visit I vowed I wouldn't go back, but stupidly decided to give it another go. There are some pro's.. rooms are clean, and the public areas are also clean and well kept, and staff are friendly. The many cons.. Beds are tiny. I'm sure they are supposed to be standard doubles but they barely fit two adults. The mattresses ... Read more

Stayed in room 439 on the 4th floor, a very quiet comfortable room. The twin beds were excellent, really comfortable and we loved the shower. Limited storage space if you were staying more than a couple of days. Had a pleasant evening meal and drinks in the bar restaurant area, reasonably priced for a hotel. Breakfast was the usual good quality, with something for everyone, just wish bacon could be made available. Car parking was appalling - drive into the car park past the barrier only to find... Just spent 2 nights at the Holliday inn express, very clean hotel with wonderfull helpfull staff. We find it very hard to define the bad reports that some have made about this hotel. Good sized rooms with air conditioning, just as well as this was the hottest weekend of the year so far. Nice bar area and very good service breakfast had a good choice both hot & cold. Very good value for money and a good location for our travel to Hatfield house & Paradise wild life park

This hotel was ideal, as it was around 30 mins from London and was located near the motorway. It had the basic amenities in the room that was usually seen in other HI hotels I've stayed in: drinks station (kettle, cups, drinks), hair dryer, trouser presser and others which I have missed. However, as I stayed in the summer, which was hot, the windows needed to be open and meant the noise was a little off putting. The Holiday Inn Express in Harlow is a good solution for staying the night in this town. While the town is pretty sleepy (very few restaurants open in the evening) the Hotel is the standard that we well know from the Holiday Inn wherever they are. The parking solution is fine, just next to the Hotel in a closed lot, the rooms are not small as it happens sometime in the UK, the place is clean & the staff is friendly. Stayed one night to attend a nearby function. Circumstances meant we checked in well after midnight but reception and lounge area still fairly busy. Young male receptionist was efficient but rather icy. We weren't sure where to park and ended up in the adjacent multi-storey where the hotel has reserved spaces. Not too happy at being told we needed to traipse back to car with our parking permit. at that time of night didn't feel safe for females. Perhaps these permits could be printable along wit... This is a clean, modern and friendly budget hotel. There are 22 on-site parking spaces though these were taken when we arrived so we parked on the adjacent NCP (level 2 only). You have to pay £3 for the NCP at the hotel reception, then go back to the car park to display the ticket - no need to buy the ticket in the car park as it's much more expensive. If you are ever unfortunate enough to have to visit Harlow, perhaps the ugliest and most depressing town in England, then this can offer something of a safe haven. The hotel is well run, clean and secure. You can sit in the bar and watch the walking dead go about their business in Harlow town centre. You have to be lucky with the parking. The free car park behind the hotel is tight with only room for a dozen or so vehicles.
