Just stayed at the " O.P." and would thoroughly recommend it. Friendly, helpful staff, spotlessly clean, comfy beds, in fact my husband would like to know where they got the mattress for room 1 so we could get one!! The food was delicious, I got TWO poached eggs with my Full Scottish and they were perfectly done I also had scallops in the evening, again perfectly cooked.

Stayed at this hotel for one night. We had booked a room to sleep 3 so obviously someone was going to have to sleep on the "dreaded" sofa bed (don't think a comfortable one has been invented yet) and my son drew the short straw. The room itself was a good size with plenty of supplies of teas and coffee. The ensuite was the size of a cupboard with just about enough room to turn around but on the plus side was very clean with plenty of towels supplied. Couldn't quite get the shower temperatures ri... From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with good-natured charm and willingness to help. My guy, age 90, had mislaid his walking stick Stateside. Within the hour, the manager contacted a local rest home and provided a replacement (no charge). I kept exclaiming that the cleanliness sets a standard that puts my own at home to shame. The bed was firm, comfortable. Nor were we expected to pay up-front as is the practice in the U.S.A. and most elsewhere. This set a tone of trust and graciou... Read more

Eight of us meet regularly at the Orchard Park and on the 7th of December we arranged our festive dinner. The manager and his staff were welcoming and attentive and they served amazing food. It was the good old days, a warm and full plate, lots of potatoes, roasted, carrots and sprouts, all cooked to perfection. I had chosen a sirlion steak. It was tasty and delicious. The starters and desserts complimented the meal. We had agreat time.

Monday blues took us out for an evening walk and into the Orchard Park for a bite to eat- how our mood was transformed. We opted for the £12.95 two course menu and even the French-not my fave wine country-Sauvignon Blanc was fab. He had the scallops with black pudding starter and I had the crispy prawn tempura-both delicious and great sized starters-unusual in some of our local eateries. Next He had the beef strip loin with mushrooms and garlicky string beans and I had the tastiest chicken ta... Read more

Nice location. Shower took 5 mins to get warm. Wifi not working. Limited options at breakfast if you don't want pork (eg no vegetarian sausages). Staff were courteous if a little disengaged. Bed comfy though with good quality pillows. Pretty average otherwise.

Very nice hotel with bistro bar and restaurant. The rooms are well presented, and quiet considering that the hotel is close to the main road. The meal in the restaurant was very nice. The breakfast was quality, with the best black puddings ever.

It was our first visit to Glasgow Scotland and we were not familiar with the terrain. The staff was very friendly and readily provided us with advice regarding transportation, shopping and touring. Many times they went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable and content, even taking care of our special dietary needs. Our room was large with a modern bathroom facility. It was also convenient to be able to run down to the bar from our room in the evening and grab a beer or a whi... Read more

Lived for many years in Giffnock, now visiting ,obviously a local combined with good service and varied choice of menu, stuck to traditional fish and chips, both very well cooked .Interesting to observe ,fruit machine addict ,screened football fanatics , bar stool regulars and dedicated diners all totally oblivious of each other. Could this only happen in Glasgow?
