If you live on the Southside this is a great place to go for lunch. The food is above standard for a pub and the choice is good. They've changed their wine list and there's now a much better selection and better price. The service can be a little slow but the girls are all very friendly. The portions are substantial and the starter sizes ideal as a one course at lunchtime. If the weather is nice there's a lovely garden area, with heaters, and extra tables and chairs are put out when it's busy. I... Read more

Fantastic, modern hotel, we had a private room for a family party which was perfect. The buffet was very nice and the staff very friendly. Parking is limited and outside is a small garden. Good location too.

One night stay in a double room (?). We arrived late afternoon with no one in reception to check us in. Despite it being obvious that we were waiting to check in several members of staff walked by and took no interest. Finally we asked a harried waitress to get someone which she duly did. The room was a disappointment, very small, damp stain on wall (probably historical), small bed, tiny TV. The bathroom was a decent size and clean but the shower could do with servicing. The biggest problem wit... Read more

If you are looking for a hotel in the Giffnock area, this hotel is well run and very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included with your room. It is a short distance from the Metro station. There are buses that run nearby so it is convenient for getting around.

We absolutely loved our short visit staying at this hotel. It's very clean, quiet and the staff are very friendly especially Maggie, the breakfast lady. She was so kind and welcoming. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice venue, excellent bar staff but kitchen is a disaster. Main courses were served 40 minutes after ordering. 5 yr old granddaughter lost all interest in food by the time her (and our) meal was served. 3 weeks ago took over 25 minutes Part of child's meal is ice cream which we ordered but gave up waiting for after 15 minutes. Paid the bill and left. Definitely not going back

Let's get the problems out of the way first. I couldn't get an answer when I phoned to book the night before. Although the online booking was confirmed, the hotel had no note of it. All was well as we phoned, and got an answer, on the morning itself. Service was a bit haphazard. But the food was lovely. Various burgers all round. One mistaken order. Why not write them down? Hadn't been for ages and hadn't eaten there for many years, but was pleasantly surprised at the amount and quality of the f... Read more

Popped in for a bite to eat on a sunny day, lovely picnic style tables outside on artificial grass, as well as another high tabled area, We sat at the picnic table. I particularly enjoyed The Pate with toast , it was delicious. I also like the fact that the coffee was served with a piece of tablet, nice touch. Hope we manage to squeeze another few last days of summer, use it as an excuse for lunch outside here.

On a day pelting with rain I took refuge in the Grill of this hotel. The steak pie was Devine and I was shocked to discover I was served fresh shelled peas. It brought back happy times from my childhood. Excellent food, excellent service.

Lived for many years in Giffnock, now visiting ,obviously a local combined with good service and varied choice of menu, stuck to traditional fish and chips, both very well cooked .Interesting to observe ,fruit machine addict ,screened football fanatics , bar stool regulars and dedicated diners all totally oblivious of each other. Could this only happen in Glasgow?

It was our first visit to Glasgow Scotland and we were not familiar with the terrain. The staff was very friendly and readily provided us with advice regarding transportation, shopping and touring. Many times they went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable and content, even taking care of our special dietary needs. Our room was large with a modern bathroom facility. It was also convenient to be able to run down to the bar from our room in the evening and grab a beer or a whi... Read more

Very nice hotel with bistro bar and restaurant. The rooms are well presented, and quiet considering that the hotel is close to the main road. The meal in the restaurant was very nice. The breakfast was quality, with the best black puddings ever.

Nice location. Shower took 5 mins to get warm. Wifi not working. Limited options at breakfast if you don't want pork (eg no vegetarian sausages). Staff were courteous if a little disengaged. Bed comfy though with good quality pillows. Pretty average otherwise.

Monday blues took us out for an evening walk and into the Orchard Park for a bite to eat- how our mood was transformed. We opted for the £12.95 two course menu and even the French-not my fave wine country-Sauvignon Blanc was fab. He had the scallops with black pudding starter and I had the crispy prawn tempura-both delicious and great sized starters-unusual in some of our local eateries. Next He had the beef strip loin with mushrooms and garlicky string beans and I had the tastiest chicken ta... Read more
