I wanted somewhere convenient to the M74 which was clean, comfortable, not too expensive and with no hassle - this fitted the bill perfectly - and with breakfast! Staff were friendly and service efficient.

never mind staying in these hotels always clean and of reliable standard. Food is not the greatest if I am honest but has a Toby Carvary opposite. Found the staff here very friendly and helpful . Good transport links right on the M74 and nice location in the Strathclythe park/loch area

Stayed here mid drive from Yorkshire to lossimouth for a night to break up our journey .First stay in a holiday inn express and we found it clean and comfortable . You get a free continental breakfast which includes sausages , scrambled eggs and beans , toast ect .... was warm and tasty and a welcome start to our day . Next door is a toby carvery for your evening meal as there is nowhere else in walking distance for food as far as we could see .

The hotel is practical. It offers clean rooms and basic comfort. It was convenient on our way up to north Scotland as we needed a break for a night. Not a place to spend you holidays though! Staff lovely and welcoming. The main problem was the access to it as there are some road works and the satnav couldn't locate the place.

We stopped here on the pointsbreak deal of 5000 points per night, and so have to consider it good value. As everyone else is pointing out, the roundabout off the M74 is in chaos at the moment, but our sat nav did manage to get us there eventually. Plenty of parking and a Toby carvery next door where you can get a good evening meal. Staff at the hotel were pleasant and the room was ok, and a good size. As above, stayed as part of a trip to visit family in Glasgow and linked with a visit to M&Ds Theme Park. The hotel was perfect for the visit - good rates because we booked in advance and room was great - my 4yr old son had a sofa bed as big as the main bed so he was super-comfy! Hotel rate came with breakfast but we chose to eat in the Toby Carvery next door (....this was a bit of a disappointment so I'd recommend trying the hotel brekkie). The hotel was ok but the rooms were tired and in need of decorating. I paid £85 per night which I felt was expensive for what it was. No air conditioning in the rooms and a very basic breakfast. The staff were friendly. Not sure why they have a sign in the bathroom saying "forgotten anything speak to reception" all they had was toothbrushes and toothpaste. Very helpful if you forgotten those but otherwise no use at all. Overall I just expected better for the money. I probably wouldn't s... Read more

I'm really sorry but this was an awful stay. OK, so we only needed a motorway pit stop for one night en route from Aberdeen to Lincolnshire but a few minor comforts are all we ask for. The HOT water in the shower was only HOT & I mean SCALDING. It was so hot, none of us could have a shower/bath or wash our hair. The bed was definitely the most uncomfortable bed I've slept in. I had terrible backache in the morning as did my mother. Breakfast was mediocre to say the least. The check in re... Read more

I stayed here when my house was found to have asbestos in it. Our room was spacious, clean and modern. The beds were very comfortable and I have to admit I had a brilliant nights sleep! I really liked the room. I like modern minimalist and clean. Seating area when you go in isn't the most comfortable, but then you need to remember it is an express hotel so it's basically just for a stop over! The breakfast was not up to much. Scrambled egg and link sausage (which I hate) - self service.... Read more

After visiting the SSE Hydro we wanted somewhere on the outskirts of Glasgow for us to put our head down. Rooms slept three so were ideal and very reasonably priced. Nice, comfortable rooms. Staff were great too. Bonus that breakfast is included in the price, was a lovely breakfast with lots to choose from. Only downside bar was expensive for awful tasting wine!

Stayed Friday/Saturday night. Better than expected. Room was quite spacious and decor in reasonable condition. It was quiet and peaceful throughout my stay (and I spent quite a lot of time in the room) except 7am -8am ish when a large contingency on a coach trip were leaving their rooms. Breakfast was included and was decent enough. Staff were very helpful. The hotel's in a good location - despite the roadworks - but if a good 'net connection's important, consider tethering or go elsewhere. This Holi' Inn partners with BitBuzz from Virgin & it's rubbish. Just me ? ....nah ....people were at reception with their bits of paper containing voucher codes, asking for help from staff. And as for BitBuzz's instructions to allow e-mailing sending ....changing servers etc. ....that's so 2006.

OK so its a Holiday Inn Express, nothing special, doesnt pretend to be, so onward trot. Plenty of parking, very close to M&D's, Strathclyde park, just off the Motorway, so its clearly in a good location. Big rooms, big bar area, great for business meetings, in all this place just doesn't feel like a Holiday Inn Express. I write from the perspective of a seasoned business traveller who has been an IHG Rewards Elite member for about ten years. This trip is for pleasure and when in IHG Hotels is on my points. A hotel is more than a building full of rooms to stay in; it is also the people who run it and make it all work. I have stayed in modern new buildings that just didn??t work, and I have stayed in old buildings that I felt comfortable and at home in. People are more important that the fabric of the property... The best about the hotel is definitely the beds. Very comfy, could sleep really well there. Also the hotel was unexpectedly quiet, even though it is right next to a big roundabout which is being redone. The breakfast could be better though, they only serve sausages, beans and scrambled eggs as warm breakfast, and the scrambled eggs taste like powdered eggs, or extremely thinned down with milk. Don't taste right. There could be more fresh stuff, like fresh cheese or ham. They only have little pac... Read more

The hotel doesn't advertised to be anything that it's not. A smart express hotel with clean room, comfortable beds, friendly and helpful staff and sufficient breakfast. Hotel is located in a big park with minimal noise to guarantee a good night's sleep. Free parking is also a big plus. It's another example of IHG's high standard hotels that provides excellent value and a good night's sleep. At the end, it's what it all about!

Visiting family in the area so good central location. Shame about the horrendous road works which meant a 15 mile detour to travel 300 yards but can't blame the hotel for that - although they could have warned me. Having stayed here several times. I can honestly say that this hotel is excellent for the price. Obviously it isn't the Ritz but you know that when you book. The staff are excellent and very helpful. Exactly what I expected he hotel to be. Good welcome and a quick checking in. Comfortable bed and clean room. Irish have stayed in a number of Express hotels over the last 12 months and the hot items at breakfast have always been the same, sausage, scrambled egg and beans. Perhaps I have been unlucky. Altogether an average experience. Beware the roadworks at the Raith Interchange, getting on to the M74 in the morning is tortuous.
