Stayed here (Room 552) as one of a group traveling on to Iona. Room was very nice (though the desk was a bit battered) But the room was very warm. The heater was on its lowest setting. Also there was a rumbling noise all night from the ventilation system in the bathroom. Friendly staff. If it had been more than a night I would have asked to move. Proximity to Queens Street station (5ish minute walk) useful

New hotel, next to bus station and close to the Queens Street railway station. In Theaterland, so very convenient for travelers and for walking in the city center area. Breakfast included,. and close to very good restaurants that permit charging meals and drinks back to your room. Close to a stop for the open top City Sightseeing bus.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days. The USP of this hotel is the location. The hotel is a stone's throw from Buchanan Bus stand from where buses to all over Glasgow are available. City Centre including George's square is also at walking distance. Rooms are spacious and clean. Complimentary breakfast is also good but with less varieties. However, the wifi speed was too less and newspapers are not delivered to your room. Other than these two minor glitches, a very nice and comfortable place to stay

GREAT FRIENDLY,HELPFUL STAFF;Clean room stayed in double room 1st. floor room, really enjoyed the hot breakfast.Bar and snack menu ok! We were tourists so proximity to Buchanan bus station was a plus and we accessed all the places we wanted to see from there. The main shopping Malls were 5 mins. walk,10 mins. walk to Glasgow Central rail station. Lots of theatres on the doorstep, restaurants next door.

We were greeted by a very friendly staff. They gave us an overview of the location and pointed out the places of interests. Fantastic location!!! We arrived to Glagow airport and went straight to Stall 1 for the bus to the city centre, which dropped us off at the end of the line at Buchanan Station, which is literally right next to the hotel. There are tons of restaurants, pubs, clubs, and shopping in the area.

We picked the Holiday Inn for being close to the Central Train Station and to the Bus Station. We were very surprised at how good the hotel turn out to be. Very friendly desk staff, spotless room with good WiFi and reasonable view. The breakfast was not the run of the mill. It included a good selection of bacon, eggs, yogurt, cereals, etc. Far better than we have seen at similar hotels.

This was the first play we stayed at in Scotland. My wife arrived on an earlier flight than me in the morning and was able to check in early. Great breakfast. Very friendly staff! Also, this is actually a great location right next to the main bus station and in the heart of town (but it wasn't noisy at all). There is a small bar which was a surprise since HIX don't have bars in the USA. We didn't use it. There is also a computer with printing for free right next to the bar.

Last stop on the holiday, they had a room ready for early arrival so we could get about and see Glasgow. Well placed near the train and bus (airport service) and close to the subway. Breakfast was a treat - superior to that which the Express gives in Canada. I had noted a good review for the restaurant next door and they very kindly booked us in and got us a 25% discount. Bonus!

My wife, young daughter and I stayed here for three nights and it was a smooth stay from start to finish. The welcome we got from William in reception is without a doubt the warmest welcome we have ever had at a hotel. All staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent breakfast, spotless rooms and surprisingly quiet hotel for being in the city centre. Will definitely be back.

Stayed in a triple room of 3 girls for a night out. Room was a bit tight for 3 adults, cases & getting ready but it was possible. The room was clean although a lot of street noise as at a fairly busy junction - this didn't bother us though. We had to call reception twice & issues resolved straight away. The location of this hotel is very center. It does not have its own parking lot, so if you have a car, either you find a street parking (which is rather difficult since it's so central in the shopping business area) or you have to park in the public parking lot next to the hotel but costs 22 ponds per day. As a hotel guest, a 50% discount is applied on the parking fee, so 11 ponds per day for the parking. If you don't have a car, this hotel's central location will be very great. Then, something ... We stayed in a family room with two children (aged eight and ten). The room was far too small to be set up with a sofa bed as there was no walkway around the bed which meant having to climb over the person you were sleeping with in order to get in or out of bed. For some reason I was given a disabled room, which I know from past experience with holiday inn`s this spells trouble, these rooms are often not updated and have wet floor for showers which means the bathroom will have a stench. And just as predicted it was an old room and it bathroom smelled. I`ve been a fan for holiday inn for many years, so i know this room was at least 20 years old of decor, just from looking at the old dark blue wall paper they had as standard 20 years ago!!!. There is no a... Read more

I stayed here for a night so I could enjoy a work night out in Glasgow. This is a central hotel and designed for short efficient stays and in that category it does exactly what it says on the tin. Checkin was quick and efficient and the rooms are clean and tidy with all you would expect (except a safe). There is a breakfast room in the morning doing standard hotel breakfast food and the staff seem to know many guests and were on top of things. Good simple hotel for a city break.

This hotel was superb for our short break - the reception staff were ALL very welcoming, professional & very efficient & helpful. Nothing was an trouble for them & they all made us very welcome. Our breakfasts were amazing - plenty choice, with cereals, fruit, yogurt, hot breakfast items, sausage, bacon, eggs, beans, toast, pastries juices, tea & coffee - well stocked at all times. The breakfast room was lovely & clean - well cared for & the staff were excellent.

My colleague and I arrived where the sat nav told us to go, the look of horror on my colleagues face as we walked in was priceless. I kid you not there was a vending machine in reception supplying pot-noodles.... I have never seen this before ?? When we checked in, to my colleagues relief we are advised "this was the holiday inn express", "the holiday inn is two doors down"??? We checked in at the correct hotel, the lobby and bar areas were very individual, not the typical corporate, sterile ... Read more

We parked in a car park close by £13 for 24 hrs and the hotel was within 2 minutes walking distance. Staff were friendly and helpful and we got access to our room before check in time (thank you). Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was adequate to set you up for the day and the staff at breakfast on Sunday morning were fantastic - she even gave us a little history of the area. I would stay again.

Pretty standard Holiday Inn Express. Really friendly staff, very welcoming. Well located just a short walk from the main shopping areas and a shortish walk to the bus station and Queen Street. The only downside to the hotel was it wasn't the warmest hotel ever. It doesn't seem very well insulated, old windows etc. And so if you go out and the heater goes off the room gets cold quickly. It's the first hotel I've ever stayed in that gives you a hot air blower to warm up the room. Other than that, ... Read more

Handy location, very central, just a 10 minute walk from the 02 ABC, right across the road from Europe's tallest cinema and easy parking. Rooms in reasonable nick, very clean, no noise problems, excellent breakfast and reasonable rates. Ladies and gentlemen, it's a hit. Recommended.

Stayed in due to its location in the city centre and overall value. As a chain hotel you know exactly what you are getting for your money. Breakfast is simple but excellent, with really good staff working the breakfast room keeping things topped up and clearing tables. They make a huge difference to he hotel as the breakfast room is small and they need to keep the tables turned over. Rooms are standard in all their hotels. Ours was clean and well maintained although the room we were allocated... Read more

You get what you expect from this chain - spotlessly clean and comfortable room in a central location - also free WiFi etc was useful although expected these days What set this apart a bit was the friendly helpful staff From the welcome at check in with named introductions through our short stay to a cheery check out we felt comfortable and welcome throughout The breakfast room staff were very efficient and helpful - no easy task with a small breakfast room and half the hotel wanting to arri... Second time I have used this hotel. Ideal position at the top of West Nile Street for the city centre. Relatively quiet compared to the more central hotels where the city noise goes on 24/7. It is clean enough modern and breakfast is included. Breakfast is self serve and can be a bit of a fight but it is good without being outstanding. The little reception bar is fine and the staff are first class. There is no parking on site but the public car park opposite is safe and secure for £12 a ni... Read more
