I decided to give the hotel a score of four based on the helpful staff and its cleanliness. The location is good, on the riverside and within a few minutes walk of the centre of Glasgow. The minus points of the hotel are that it does not have a restaurant and does not have its own car park. There are restaurants nearby including the Al Dente (Italian) next door. There are also public car parks nearby, some appeared to be more secure than others. If arriving by train the nearest station is Argyle... Read more

The Hotel has now finished its refurbishment of the bedrooms which are very outstandingly decorated in smooth grey and warming colours. Carpets are really luxurious. The bathrooms have also been upgraded with new showers installed. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Ideal place to stop off for a weekend break and in a very central position for shopping and conferences. Stayed for both business and pleasure.

We came for a few days and found the staff very friendly and helpful the room perfect for our needs and there was even a microwave and some cutlery and crockery for use if you wanted to make something yourself rather than eat out. I brought my chromecast as I hate generic TV and I was able to keep myself entertained watching Netflix whilst relaxing at night before bed. I mention this as I find this a big selling point for me as some places don't let you plug things into the tv. I sometimes bring... Read more

Stayed here with my wife and Child, didn't have any double and single available but the room was spacious, clean and had all mod cons that you require, location was good but parking was poor, there was an open space very close to the hotel but it didn't look safe when you see the bar just down form the hotel. They had a rate for a more secure parking in a Q park complex.

We arrived as part of a group and reception staff were very friendly and efficient and all 40 of us were checked in in no time. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated and immaculate. The window looked out on to Stockwell Street, a busy thoroughfare, but it was so well insulated that you could not hear any traffic and we slept soundly. Convenient location, very comfortable beds and pillows, good bathroom. Breakfast was comprehensive and tasty - much nicer than the offerings in North America. Plenty of tables and chairs even at busy times. Too bad the guests insist on using their fingers to grab food instead of the tongs prominently laid out everywhere. Location is convenient but difficult for loading /unloading as it means stopping on the road in traffic.

There??s a lot to like about this HI Express in addition to the competitive price and cheerful friendly staff. It??s located on the corner of a road bridge across the Clyde, within a couple of minutes stroll from the covered St Enoch Mall and shops in pedestrianised Argyle Street. The location is convenient walking distance from the major shops on Argyle Street and the restaurants and bars in Merchant's city. From the moment I stepped in, I knew I was going to like this place. The staff were brilliant, even before 7am they were happy, joking, and full of life. The room was bigger than I was expecting for a city hotel. Comfortable bed. The only noise I could hear was the pouring rain. I like it when hotels have an extra layer of security, and this one did. I've stayed here a few times but not got around to leaving a review. The staff are uber friendly - cheery, yet laid back. The hotel has everythign you need for a stop over late night/early morning flight etc. I was impressed enough on my recent visit to write a review - which for airport hotels I don't normally do. Biggest disadvantage of this hotel is the lack of car park or even a pull-in to unload heavy luggage, it has special terms with a nearby NCP facility but getting to the hotel from there involves crossing two busy roads. The breakfast buffet was acceptable even though it was equipped with one of those 'conveyor belt' type toasters that never seem to work properly - in this case it just warmed the bread on the... Stayed in this holiday whilst on a self-drive road tour throughout the UK, the hotel offered excellent value for money, therefore have difficulty finding any creditable faults. I stay here quite regularly on business trips to Glasgow mainly due to the price and locality to the central station. Rooms are clean and comfortable and there are the basic amenities (bar, breakfast free wifi) to satisfy a short business stop. It's close proximity to the river make it easy to take an evening walk/ jog along the bank. Other than that it's a typical Holiday Inn Express

We arrived at the hotel around 9.30 a.m. And checked in. Although we were far to earl, the check in clerk said there were some rooms available, which was really great. The room was very clean and comfortable with everything you need for a good nights stay, with wifi included Whilst their is no dinner restaurant, breakfast is included in the price, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. What made it for us was the friendliness, and helpfulness of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. W... Read more

Very nice hotel, lovely room with very comfy beds and cozy bedding. Colour scheme cheery. Housekeeping services were excellent, room always clean, and beds neatly made. Bathroom was a nice size, we experienced quite cramped bathrooms in other UK hotels, so this was a pleasant surprise. Having a 1st floor room, we used the stairs and the stairwell was very clean. Front desk staff helped with arranging a tour. The location is good - walking distance to shopping, train station, tube, restaura... Read more

This hotel is just what it is nothing fancy but it is very welcoming and the breakfasts are more than adequate. The rooms are modern, well presented and comfortable. There is a very pleasant reception/foyer where you can sit and have a drink and there is always sandwiches/refreshments to buy beside reception. Near the city centre and only a short walk from many of the attractions. The hop on tourist bus stop is only a few yards from the hotel. A good Italian restaurant r... Read more

We stayed at four different Holiday Inn Express locations in Scotland, and this was the only one that failed miserably in living up to expectations. We had spent three nights in Edinburgh and took the train to Glasgow. This motel is within walking distance of either City Center or Queen Street Station, and we were thankful for that. On our arrival, we were told that the hot water wasn't working, someone was fixing it and it would only be a matter of two or three hours at the most. We staye... Read more

We spent a weekend in the Holiday Inn Express, Riverside, Glasgow and found it a very pleasant stay. We had a family room with two double beds (a double bed and sofa bed), it was a bit cramped for four of us but was manageable for the weekend. The room was clean and modern and serviced each day. It had a reasonably sized en-suite (no bath), a flat screen tv, tea making facilities, a hair dryer and an iron and ironing board. Breakfast was included in the price, a continental selection as well as... Read more

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this property. Checkin was a breeze and the staff was super friendly. The location of this hotel is pretty good, in the city center but once you get in the room, the city seems miles away. There is good parking across the street which is great if you are driving. Very secure.

We enjoyed our stay, requested an early check in which we got easily; as a card holder I requested late check out, no problem.. room was fine, clean, good power points, great free wireless throughout. A friendly welcome and pleasant staff. Breakfast was std fare, but hot and tasty and plenty - even on a busy Sunday morning. Would stay again.

Good sized, clean rooms. Can't fault the hotel, free refills with tea coffee etc, free breakfast with the rooms which is as good as premier inn. Can't hear any noise from outside, the only thing I would ask for is thicker duvets but that's personal preferance. Park at King Street car park which is a 30 second walk from the hotel, £10.95 if you pay at the hotel. Bargain.

This is a standard Holiday Inn experience. Stayed for an overnight with partner afet a concert. The facilities were standard. Room was tight, but large enough. Immaculately clean. Extremely comfortable beds. The room was facing the side road and there was no noise whatsoever and the thick curtains kept the room in total darkness. Air con was fresh and light. All in all a pleasant stay, staff were extremely helpful and courteous and I would highly recommend staying here for a night or two.

I stayed at holiday inn express Glasgow for a business for 5 nights. Check in was quick and efficient and the staff was ready to answer questions. The room was a standard HIE room but the air-conditioning system simply did not work. When I tried turning it on it went on a cold mode (when it was freezing outside) and started making strange noises to I had to turn it off. I informed reception and they promised to fix it asap but they didn't. I let them know about it again upon check out and they ... Read more

Stayed here at weekend. Perfectly located for the kind of night life I was looking for. Lovely big, clean room, with comfortable bed. Parking discounted, at £10.95 for 24 hours, which, for city centre, is outstanding value. Check in was really simple, and very friendly. Breakfast was excellent too, with a superb choice of freshly cooked hot food, and a vast array of the usual cereals, cold meats etc. Lots of fresh, fluffy towels in the room too. View over the river was lovely too. It is built o... Read more

Less than 10 mins pleasant walk to Central Station. Self service Breakfast was included in tomatoes or mushrooms with the cooked and the apple I chose for health was completely tasteless.....good enough selection of all the standards though. Odd design of en suites...door separates toilet if open...probably because of cramped area used for this facility. Booked double but was given twin with no choice on arrival. Well located hotel within minutes away from Peoples Palace, George Square, Railway station, Tube station as well as prime shopping areas. The room we had over looking the river was big in size, clean and well maintained. The hotel staff was excellent, always ready to help with directions and best places to visit in Glasgow. My family loved the stay at this place.
