The Holiday Inn sits within the vast and attractive Crichton Hall grounds in a quiet location between the University campus and Hospital, about 1 mile from the city centre. The very modern building containing the bedrooms adjoins a Victorian building. Our attractively furnished standard room contained a comfortable king sized bed and small shower only en-suite. All was clean and in very good condition. The buffet breakfast had a good choice of fruit, cereals, pastries and cooked items. The only ... Read more

We pre booked our table with the burns night special as we were heading over to easterbrook hall for Le Haggis show (fantastic) On arrival we were ignored for a few min before a young lad cane over and then seated us. We ordered drinks to be told no Malibu, drinks took ages to arrive and when they did one was knocked of the tray and down friend back. Offered prosecco as comp but non of us drink it!!!! Starter arrived with peppercorn sauce which was asked to be left off. We had to ask 3 times ... Read more

Middle of the road hotel. Not easy to find as the postcode wasn't recognised but suspect that's a problem with the sat nav rather than the hotel! Lovely setting and grounds surrounding the hotel and a pleasant welcome was received at check-in. Having requested a wake-up call it was only the following morning that I realised the room didn't have a phone in it!

Hi, I stayed here for two consecutive nights on 16th January 2016. Rooms themselves are fine, nice and clean. I was advised at check in to book at table for dinner as they were very busy. I was surprised that the restaurant was almost empty on arrival to dine, with a most 8 people in the place. I was therefore disappointed when it took over an hour for our meals to arrive. On asking why it was so slow, I was informed that they had been overwhelmed with room service calls and hence the slow servi... Read more

A very nice hotel has combined the old building with the new bedroom accommodation. The bedroom was fairly spacious for a standard room and the ensuite sufficient with a nice walk in shower. The room was clean and tidy, although a little cold when we first entered the room, once the heater was switched on the room warmed up quickly. We were on a DBB ?? we found that there was plenty of choice for each of the different three courses we were offered for our three course meal included the price... Read more

Had an overnight here recently as part of my birthday celebrations and can not speak highly enough of my visit. The staff were very attentive and informative, able to provide us with recommendations for local restaurants. We stayed in an executive room which was immaculately presented. Have stayed in other Holiday Inns but this is definitely a stand out in terms of service and cleanliness!

Stayed here as a stopover n the way home to the north west. Lovely big executive room with beautiful bathroom, obviously recently refurbished. The wi fi was great and free and lots of light in the room so I could see to get ready. Really friendly staff. Meal at night was good but breakfast was average

Lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds, room was immaculately clean and the bed was comfortable. Very quiet location which I enjoy and encourages good sleep. Stayed one night in October on business. Breakfast was as poor as I've had in a long time, cheap, greasy bacon, two types of sausage (one completely cheap and inedible). I asked for two poached eggs, and another diner did the same, the waiter approached me a few minutes later to confirm the order as the "chef would go ballistic if it was... Read more

The Holiday Inn in Dumfries is a very nice Hotel about 3 minutes by car from the town centre. Rooms are very clean and decorated to a high standard. Staff are very helpful and the breakfast is self service. If you need a taxi to the town it costs £6.
