I'd have given our stay 5 stars if not for the fact that this hotel has no Air Conditioning. While I understand the locals are accustomed to this and the temperatures during our stay were unseasonably warm the problem is that visitors who haven't acclimated to the "dampness" will not feel comfortable. Our room was on the third floor and had a very small window which helped a little but the noise from outside made leaving it open not an option at night. Other than a portable fan in the room th... Before one even sets foot in this grand hotel opposite Glasgow's beautiful Botanic Gardens the Concierge and Front Desk staff take time to send welcoming email. If they could have six stars they would get them, as would the chef :-) Breakfast is fresh and ample and dinner in the Bovine Restaurant can be thoroughly recommended - seldom can one find such superb quality at such a good price, We stayed in a Delux room which was spacious and well equipped. We visited this hotel as we had a night out and thought we would treat ourselves.... The room was nice to be fair but the hotel had a hen party feel about it, not at all what I expected from a Hilton. To me would suit the more party person who does not mind a place to crash. Not for me but to be fair staff were lovely and room was clean, albeit a little noise could be heard from the traffic outside but to be expected I guess. Great location???

The staff were excellent. Please was clean, the room just a little tired, flaky paint on bathroom door and window frame but overall a nice stay. Great location to walk down to the bars and restaurants on Byers road in West End and also for easy access to Western Road to head out to Loch Lomond and beyond. Would return.

We have stayed here several times for business and decided to include a weekend in our most recent visit, sadly this backfired as we found ourselves in a room that was badly affected by music played at functions on the Saturday and Sunday evenings - the night manager quickly moved us to a different room when we complained on the Sunday. Generally the rooms here are ok but the lack of aircon and location next to the Great Western Road make this a compromise choice - not an ideal one. Good points:... Read more

Overall disappointed with the Hilton Grosvenor. It's not an inexpensive hotel but they don't have AC because of an existing city regulation about historical buildings - which is understandable, but on a hot summer day the room gets suffocating! Further the windows don't open beyond a crack so not a lot of air that gets in but you do get a lot of traffic noise from the main road that the hotel is located on. I had to get two floor fans to get some level of sleep. One of my colleagues had to mov... Read more

This hotel is in a amazing location for exploring the West End of Glasgow. Unfortunately thats about the best bit. The "deluxe" room might as well have been a Premier Inn with a less comfy bed. Rooms were absolutely roasting hot as there is no air con. Don't waste your money on the deluxe rooms with garden view. Last week my wife and I paid £205 for a one-night stay, having unwisely accepted a voluntary room upgrade. This promised us a room overlooking ??the gardens??, but strangely failed to mention the intervening road which serves as a main arterial route out of the city. We stayed at the Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor prior to my daughter's graduation as it's very near Glasgow University. The hotel is average for a Hilton, the rooms were fine but there was no mini fridge or air conditioning. The lack of air-con isn't a big deal in Scotland as it's cold most of the time, even in summer. This hotel was convenient to the Glasgow Botanic Gardens. The staff was very nice and helpful. I was underwhelmed by the property itself. The room (207) was small, dark and our view overlooked a trash collection area and the back of a grocery store. The trim molding on the door had been replaced and not painted. There was no air conditioning (it was unusually hot during our stay) and there were no amenities.

I honestly don't know why this hotel takes the Hilton name. The building is old, the lighting is poor and the rooms don't have a minibar, neither AC. There was always a huge - and I can't stress that enough - pile of towels that must have been taken out of guest's rooms and put on the hallway, leaning against the wall. Beautiful park for a nice walk...lots of coffee shops, restaurants etc. We walked to the Ubiquitous Chip and I highly recommend this restaurant. Room was clean as well as bath. Nothing fancy but we only stayed for one night.

Good location, but a bit tired with room doors bashed and bathrooms very much dated and in need of a revamp. Food ok, could be better. Friendly staff and welcoming. Hit or miss with rooms, ask for a front facing room

Wonderful service! Great location: walking distance to many key attractions, and just steps to the subway. No A/C, but the windows open and there is a fan on a stand in the room. For most days that's all you need in Glasgow.

Cold porridge. Poor service. Room in need of upgrade. Noisy room with partying top 3am. Then woken by bottles going into bottle bank. Noisy Windows too with curtains and letting light in. Food in breakfast room poor. Toaster not working properly. No smoothies although were advertised.
