Stayed here as I was attending a banquet and award ceremony for circa 400 people. I had an executive suite on the 16th floor which had stunning views of the Clyde. The hotel in a about 20 minutes from the airport and about 5-10 minutes to the centre of Glasgow. The staff were efficient and the bar and snack facilities excellent. My room was large, nicely furnished and came with a number of extras including use of an executive lounge area. I would definitely stay again.

After an unpleasant stay in a hotel complex in West Scotland we rebounded to the Crowne Plaza at the SECC. it was lovely to walk in and have someone say, "Hello, how can we help you"! Never used the CP hotels in the UK so i joined the club and immediately got a voucher for two free drinks and 20% off food. A very welcome gift. The room was a good size, the bed very comfortable and everything worked as it should. We ate in the Mariners dining room in reception and service was quick, the food... Read more

I stayed here for one night on business. There is ample (chargeable) parking and the hotel has great views of the Clyde. I did venture into town via taxi to meet a friend - it takes around 10 minutes and there is usually a cab sat outside the hotel. Check in was smooth and the room was really nice and definitely felt 'superior' to the Holiday Inn that I'd stayed in the night before (although part of the same group) and reasonably priced at £99. Wifi was fast and breakfast was good - no issu... Read more

This hotel enjoys a great location near the SECC and Hydro. The rooms are pleasantly furnished with good beds, large towels and nice touches such as a sleep spray and quiet zone to help you nod off. Breakfast was excellent with a neat orange press for fresh juice. Good selection of hot food, cold items and warm pastries. Good value on a Sunday night so no complaints other than to comment that the leisure club is dated and the carpets and decor are in need of attention. Spend some money now to... Read more

The only problem with the Crowne Plaza is that it's looking a wee bit weary. It is essentially a very nice hotel - staff are lovely, reception, bar, restaurant, food, pool all lovely but the rooms let it down a bit. In my first room the air conditioning was non existent yet very noisy. When I complained about my sweaty, lack of sleep I was moved without delay. My suite was nice enough. The reception asked how my stay was - I said 'brief'. Arrived at 11.30pm and was gone by noon the next day. However, from my time there I would say that its a great luxury hotel that you feel you will see a famous person as its so near BBC Scotland. Upon arrival I had high hopes for the Crowne Plaza. The check in staff were helpful and pleasant. The room was a good size but the bathroom was showing signs of age. We had a meal out for the evening but returned to have a drink at the bar. My friend and I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc each but found that it was really bad. Rooms are nice with great views of the city or down The Clyde towards Renfrew. Huge conference on when we were there but service in restaurant was still very good and left us plenty of time to go to the concert. Food is good without being great and reasonable priced. Breakfast is good with large range of food and chefs willing to make you an omelette etc if you ask.

This hotel is perfect for excursions into Glasgow. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. They offer a first class breakfast which will keep you going for most of the day. They rooms are very dated and really do need bringing up to date (check out sister hotel Indigo). I wouldn't be writing this if the room had been £60.00 cheaper but value for money the Crowne Plaza doesn't score very highly with me. Firstly, the location is ideal for the concert venues next door(that's why we were visiting). First impression on entering is that the Crowne Plaza is looking rather dated and stuck in the late 90's. Overall, the hotel is of a very good standard. The furnishings and fittings are of a decent quality as is the cleanliness. A few things let it down; the prices are high if its just a 1 night at the SECC job, the staff are quite surly - the night receptionist appeared annoyed I interrupted her evening to report a broken cistern. She informed me that they could send maintenance which I refused as hubby was asleep. In the morning I found no note left re this issue and day receptionist said no maint... Read more

We stayed at this hotel when we attended a conference course there 1-3sept 2016. It's a little bit out the way from the centre of town (although you could walk it in about 30-40 mins) but the reason we stayed was because the conference was in the same venue. Right next door to the secc/hydro. The leisure centre was quite small but adequate. The restaurant was nice- we had dinner on the first night of our stay and the buffet breakfasts were good too. Got to know the hotel and staff very well, like all work places there is good and bad but thankfully there is a lot more good. The restaurant staff were all first class and always very helpful. On check in I was always made to feel welcome, the club lounge is also very good and was due for an upgrade which I missed as no longer require to stay for work. I would recommend the place for pleasure also as if at a concert no need for taxis but centre of city all within walking distance of less than ... Read more

This hotel is very average and OK. I would have expected more for what they charged. The best word to describe this hotel is unremarkable. It was booked quite simply for its location. The rooms and overall decor of the hotel are average as is the breakfast which isn't worth £10 per person as it's the kind of food to expect at a greasy spoon café. The redeeming factor of the hotel is the friendliness of the staff who efficiently resolved any issues that arose.

My wife and I chose Glasgow as a break in our drive from the Midlands to the Highlands and the Crowne Plaza proved perfect. Driving to the hotel was straightforward as it is close to the motorway exit, the location is very quiet, being away from the city bustle. Our welcome was warm and friendly. On our 'upward' journey we stopped for two nights in order to have a day's sightseeing. This proved easy and inexpensive as the open topped red sightseeing bus stops very close to the hotel and provides... Read more

Booked a suite at the Crowne Plaza for my honeymoon and was extremely happy with everything I received. I booked through my IHG membership and received additional perks. I was given early check in , breakfast and because it was my wedding night , the hotel gifted a bottle of wina and a box of chocolates. The suite was spacious and very comfortable. Although we did not eat dinner in the restaurant, the breakfast was excellent and could be cooked to order if necessary. 10/10 to the Crowne Plaza.
