Met with family for an overnight stay. Really nice place, full of character! We dined in the bar as the restaurant is undergoing refurbishment, the food was really nice and didnt take long to arrive at our table. Breakfast also plentiful and really nice. The staff we seen over the time we spent there were so nice and welcoming, and nothing too much trouble. Callum was our 'barman' on saturday and was an absolute star...so pleasant and kept us entertained with our music requests lol thanks for p... Read more

We stopped off here for a drink as it looked an interesting building . It certainly is. Worth a visit. Very friendly staff and they have a nice dining room upstairs. Not eaten here so I don't know what the food is like. However the dining room is only open on Saturday and Sunday during the quiet months.

On arrival mix up with booking....shown small tiny twin room...unacceptable....staff promptly showed us a larger alternative....lovely room with view of Necropolis and Cathedral...pleasant outlook. Breakfast excellent...scrambled egg and smoked salmon cooked just right...vegetarian breakfast option also... served in comfortable bar...Friendly and helpful staff. spiral staircase could be a problem for senior visitors. Stayed here and found it to be every comfortable, it also has very interesting history. It's also very atmospheric. The view towards the Necropolis from my bedroom was just fabulous. The menu was good for both Dinner & Breakfast, and food was very tasty. Their staff were very welcoming and helpful.

To be fair I was with a coach party. But - the promised restaurant venue had been taken over for a funeral and so almost 30 of us were 'accommodated' in the bar for an initial coffee and biscuit morning break. It was very tight for space; some people waited a while for coffee and the biscuits finally appeared when most folks had had their warm drink. Lunch was soup and sandwiches - these were not well filled and again it was a squash as of course their usual customers were there for lunch as... Read more

From the outside it looks like it might be ok, but once you walk in it really is shabby. The room I stayed in was very tired and needs some money spent on it to get it to an acceptable standard. I'm not sure where the photos on the website are from, but they don't bear much resemblance to the room I was in. As well as the room needing a makeover it was unbearably hot with no fan and poor ventilation. Not somewhere I will stay again I'm afraid.

Absolutely beyond shocking!!! Keep in mind i have stayed here many times over the last few years... Checking in - nice lass, told me when breakfast was and where - thats it... Room - twin but beds are together because the room is not big enough to have them separated, although the bathroom looks ok at first glance not so much when you step in, smell of damp and mold is powerful, bath tiny and plug hole worn and just yuck same as the miniature sink tucked in the corner, the splash board yes lovel... We enjoyed our lunch after touring the Glasgow Cathedral. We had fish & chips and wild mushroom salad. Our food was good with a lot of flavors. We sat upstairs so we had a nice view. The staff was pleasant and very helpful beyond the cafe service.

A very nice a friendly staff. The food and drinks are good. The rooms are small but not uncomfortable. We had two twin size beds in our room. We went to the bar downstairs and mingled with the local crowd, who were all very so friendly. It's a great location near the necropolis and cathedral and it's a short walk to almost anywhere else in the city.

Cathedral House does not ooze luxury, the reception and breakfast area are in the bar of the pub. Our small room was very basic it had a Lino floor, small bathroom and painted furniture, the room was at the top of a spiral staircase with over 60 steps broken by two landings. So you might think it was awful but actually it was ok. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, the bath was ok, the shower worked fine, the staff were very friendly hard working and helpful, the breakfast was exce... Read more

Stopped in after being at the Necropolis. Very nice place, gives you a welcoming feeling as soon as you enter. Had a quick drink and some tea, service was great. Very nice bar, well stocked. Had some nice local blether. Dishes that were being served smelled so good and the people looked like they were enjoying them. Great atmosphere in here!

Great place to stay in Glasgow if you like ambiance of old world charm. The serenity of over looking the cathedral and the stillness of the necropolis as views from the bedroom. It is true there are many stairs which would be a problem if you were unable to climb. The stop for the tour bus is just up the road less than 4 minutes. The breakfast is good with a great choice on the cooked menu. The bar and cafe seemed to be available throughout the day and into the evening. The rooms were very clea... Read more

We stayed two nights and would definetly stay again! Staff was warm, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was good (really tasty coffee) and the bar was atmospheric, we had few beers there during our short stay. Our room was clean and cute with a lovely view to the Glasgow Necropolis. Bathroom was clean and nice too. Hotel's history is rather interesting as well! Keep in mind there is quite a few steps to climb, but for us it wasn't a problem at all - we only had small luggage. Thin walls might be a... Read more

Stayed here one night. Public bar area very welcoming and good atmosphere, music that was playing was excellent and bar staff very friendly and warm. Our room was on the top floor so quite a few stairs to get to it, no use if you have mobility problems. Our room was small with a decent sized en-suite. The bed was really comfy and the bedding felt really nice and was very clean. Room could do with updating as wallpaper was coming away from wall, someone had attempted to to some shabby chic p...
