The hotel is perfect if you are flying from the south terminal. It was a very busy hotel and the room we stayed in was in desperate need of some TLC, the carpet and furniture had seen better days. The rooms were very clean though. We walked to the terminal in the evening as there are several choices of place to eat and have a drink. It was great for an overnight stay but not want to stay longer.

Stayed here the night before my flight as I have done so many times before.Normally first class but this time there was black mould in the sink and not a small amount, you could clearly see it and there was rust all around the plug hole in the bath.I did report this to the manager and to be fare he did come and have a look with the house keeping manager.apart from these two things the rest of my stay went as good as normal..

We chose this hotel for an overnight prior to our flight, having used Purple Parking for the car. The whole package largely worked well despite the problem we had finding the signs for the hotel after being dropped off the bus. The hotel itself was incredibly busy, with a long queue at reception on its first floor. However, our room was of high quality and we had a very comfortable night. We chose not to have breakfast in the hotel the following morning as there were several, cheaper alternati... Read more

As an airport hotel, I had low expectations. Was very happy with the comfortable accommodations, comfortable bed, and easy convenience for an early morning flight. Room service was prompt, extra pillows were delivered quickly and overall very spacious. Food and beverage at the hotel is atrocious. Service is slow, impersonal and could care less and the food is uninspired. See my review for Amys restaurant.

When I was a young lad I always felt if you stayed at a Hilton you'd kinda made it as it was a premium brand. What in gods name happened? First may I say the staff here were terrific the score is no reflection on them in fact it is that high because of them. It is though a reflection on the Hilton group for using the fact that this location is very desirable to not give a stuff about you the customer and keep taking your money for a hotel worse than a 1980s motorway IBIS. To say the hotel is tir... Read more

After leaving gatwick train station finding the hotel wasn't the easiest as sign posts were poor. Checking was fairly slow as lots of people were checking in. Room was nice, with comfy pillows, though room walls must be thin as we could here next door moving hangers and plugging things in. Sports bar food was nice, the main restaurant was a tad expensive in my opinion. Only stayed here as there was an offer on, will stick with Premier inn, north terminal next time as hotel is superb, great food ... Read more

The reason for stopping at this hotel is its proximity to London's Gatwick Airport and car rental drop offs which makes for convenience. But the service is poor, long check in lines with few staff. The room was grubby. Rust around the bathtub drain, black around the sink. Stains on the carpets. The restaurants...overpriced Sleep quality is poor. And if you haven't booked through Hilton direct you are treated like a second class citizen. To top it of I had bug bites on my hand when I woke up. Th... Read more

Not the greatest stay for being a silver card holder. Queues everywhere. Reception & bar were so busy we had to wait for ever. Don't choose a room near the lifts as the noise from the lift shaft kept us awake most of the few hours we were there. Only chose the hotel as loyalty to Hilton Honors. May choose to stay elsewhere next time.

The good thing about this hotel is that you are highly likely to find a room if your flight is cancelled. However, the hotel is getting a bit old and the rooms are starting to show signs of this. even the lifts are noisy, so ask not to be near one of these. The bar is pleasant abut the food in the restaurant is quite pricey. The staff will go out of their way to try and make your stay a good one, but really the hotel needs a refurb.

Nothing memorable. Basic standard room that is in need of a deep clean. Pillows are like bean bags and have a smell to them. Bed is hard and makes a lot of noise when moving around. Hotel could do with a proper makeover.

Serves its purpose well, only a 4 minute walk to south terminal which is nice when you have to catch an early flight. Room price was reasonable value. Don't eat here, food is a rip off. I did have a couple of pints which were reasonably priced. No free wifi, bit of a joke in this day and age.

Close to the South Terminal (minutes away walking through the car park), this hotel is really useful when you have an early morning flight. It is comfortable and clean with good facilities. Breakfast is excellent and there are a variety of bars and restaurants to choose from. Its proximity to the Terminal means that there are food outlets there within easy reach.

We use this hotel once a year and generally book an executive double room. This time check in was slow and shambolic, especially when I tried to reserve a table in Ameys restaurant for dinner. The room was not as clean as on previous trips and the service in the bar was patchy and not befitting the high drink prices. Dinner was good, but in my opinion, too expensive.

This is our second stay, when flying from Gatwick. In terms of location, the hotel could not be better as it is connected to the terminal via a walk way. There are queues at reception, just to get your room key, so checking in on-line does not have any real advantage. Having stayed here last year, I must admit to being disappointed when we arrived at our room. There was a very musty smell and the decor, carpets and bedding are in desperate need of refurbishment. Walking directions from the airport terminal are bad. There's a shortcut through the car park opposite the South Terminal which saves a lot of time if you use it,but poorly signposted. Not great when you're hauling suitcases. Rooms; Some of the hotel has a newly renovated section. I stayed there. Rooms themselves quite OK but again, some poor designs. E.g. hairdryer wired into work desk and no mirror. Not great for those either wanting to use the hairdryer or the desk to work, or both! Arrived... Read more

This is a large hotel with an open courtyard with bars and a couple of restaurants, yet due to the noise from people eating and drinking and the rather oppressive heat it seemed somehow claustrophobic. On arrival, the very first thing we were asked was if we would like to pay for a upgraded room, then asked if we wanted to pay for a dinner up front. not a great start. The (un-upgraded) rooms are spacious and clean and quite quiet - there was no noise from other rooms or the busy airport that t... Read more

Quick check in and room upgraded for executive lounge access and free wifi due to diamond status. Huge room, nice bathroom with all expected amenities. Drinks in the lounge with assorted canapés and cheese followed by an early night. Breakfast was delicious in the main dinning room, buffet and served from about 5am so perfect before heading to board the plane. I had checked my bags in with BA the night before.

My room was what you would expect from Hilton, clean well equipped and attractive. No significant complaints, a light that did not work that was managed very well by the hotel in terms of service repair. Check in went smoothly check out was delayed by a computer crash but again managed well as we were in a hurry to go, "you go we will look after things" and they did. The bar and main restaurant were very good. The food and wines delicious but I was particularly impressed by the restaurant staf... Read more

Stayed here for just one night. Never again! Car parking is terrible. The guide they send you is nonsense. We were sent away from the car park next door and directed to the short stay; £45 for one night. Check in was chaotic and just about everything I had specified online was wrong when we arrived, although the receptionist did sort it all out very efficiently. The room itself was very shabby with damaged, tatty furniture and a dirty, stained carpet. Very little in the way of toiletries or tea... Read more

Firstly this is in need of a total refurb. It is extremely dated and is completely shabby. The ala carte restaurant is marketed by reception as fine dining, it is nowhere near fine dining with terrible service and bad food. Buffet is not much better although breakfast was okay. The first room smelt of damp and mould. The second room had no bed for our son. After calling reception they turned up with a wheeled camp style bed with a very thin mattress, this thing looked like a pre-war antique. ... Read more

The only reason you would stay in this hotel is the location and convenience to the South Terminal at Gatwick Airport. Yu wouldn't stay for any other reason. The check in process despite being booked online was painfully slow and we queued for about 20 minutes. This was exacerbated by people jumping the queue and being attended to by the check in staff. Rooms were noisy and poorly equipped. No iron in our room despite an ironing board being in the cupboard and the TV initially worked and then st... Read more

Unfortunately, it took 45 mins to check-in the evening of our stay because of computer software problems. Not what you want after 6 hours of travel getting there! In fairness staff did offer us 'life-saving' cold drinks whilst we queued and then complimentary buffet-style dinner for two. In future, they need to have a plan B option ready to deal with such computer 'blips'.

The Hilton London Gatwick is very convenient if you are flying from Gatwick's South Terminal. Check in was smooth and the room itself was clean and comfortable however the noise insulation was what let it down. My room overlooked the central lobby and was right near the lifts so there was a lot of foot traffic and chatter throughout the night and early hours of the morning so it was not the restful start I wanted to my trip.

The breakfast was as expected however, the additional option of banana smoothie made this different and the staff kindly visited each breakfast table asking how our breakfast was and whether we'd like a pastry.
