A colleague booked this place had I had known I would of changed this hotel. I can only stress that it is absolutely filthy, everything is broken and nothing seems to of been replace since 1987! No light in the bathroom, 5 lights in the room only 2 worked. Broken furniture, dirty bed. Breakfast time I was left waiting for 30 mins before someone came to me despite asking to be served. They bought me tea, one cup!!! No refill or pot, also it came as a cup of hot water with a bag on the side ???. ... Read more

Don't go - very poor quality - tv didn't work - bar cold and shabby - rooms dated and in need of refurbishment - carpet stained - if I'd read other reviews I would never have visited - until they have a major upgrade then best to avoid - only plus point is it's close to the A1

Our room was absolutely boiling and had no way of turning off the heating. Dirty curtains and bedding. This place needs a makeover. Best bit about the room was the mirror that made me look thinner!Tea cups were filthy. The shower head kept falling out of the holder. Pretty dismal. Thank goodness we weren't in the room much. Went for food in the bar area and no staff to be seen, once they appeared the food took ages to arrive and was cold. Some guests on the same floor were smoking weed,disgusting... Read more

I stayed at the ravensdene lodge not long ago and it was awful. Very high prices for drinks at the bar, the rooms are not great either TV's years old of rubbish quality, beds are not proper beds and are a bad nights sleep. Room still dirty and window broken, very loud could hear everything from outside the room, understaffed not just myself but others had to yell for a member of staff to come serve as no one was at the bar or reception at all times high prices for low quality.

I tried to cancel my reservation 2 days before bue to issues with my booking reference and it not being recognised with late rooms and also due to the fact that the hotel NEVER picked up their phone any time I tried to call, I just missed the 10am cut off period per their cancellation policy. When i did finally get sorted and an email address that didnt bounce back, I explained the entire situation to them in the hope that i could still cancel my reservation. I was less than an hour out and wa... Read more

This was a last minute booking, just 2 hours prior to arrival.I was meet by a very pleasant gentleman who took customer service very seriously. He was having to look after the bar well as the reception and was very apologetic at keeping me waiting. On check in I was shown to my room, unlike many other places will just hand you a key and point to the stairs. The room was very clean and furnished in a modern style. There is a large car park. I couldn't expect but multijet r for my £37

Only paid 33 to stay. Room was dated, there were no coffee facilities in the room apart from a kettle, but you get what you pay for. As we were just going for a night out in Newcastle, and it was only a tenner in the taxi, I would recommend staying here for that purpose

Hotel quite a bit out from newcastle, but some nice country walks nearby. Looks good from the outside, and nice big bar/resteraunt area (though bar could stay open longer than 11 on a saturday night)BUT beds far too uncomfortable. as a 17stone, 6 foot 2 guy i just did not fit on the single bed, and my legs were sticking out from the bottom of my calf downwards at the bottom/off the bed. We went out and came back and bathroom roof leaking from the room upstairs (faulty tap upstairs). so bathroom f... Read more

Bar at the hotel with beer garden and serves food, food average but good to line our stomachs before we went out. Only 10 mins from Newcastle Centre in a taxi. For the money we paid for the weekend we stayed I was pleasantly suprised what value we had got for money. Although it's located on a main road which is not ideal especially if travelling with children everything else is fabulous. Rooms fitted our every need and staff wore very friendly. Reception and rooms contained all local bus information and suited us perfectly. Great place to stay for a group of friends on a budget weekend.
