We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was clean and comfortable and the food was excellent with breakfast offering a very widechoice to suit every taste. The staff were very helpful and friendly even at the booking stage.

My heart sank as we pulled into the entrance, £160 a night for THIS was my first thought. It just looks really run down from the outside, and to be brutally honest it's not any better on the inside either. It's a relic from the 1970's that looks like it was designed and decorated by your grandparents. The Wi-Fi doesn't work, the phone in the room doesn't work so you can't call down to reception to complain that there's no Wi-Fi. Everything is just a bit tired and tatty, however this being sai... Stayed here on a Friday night with my brother as we were walking up Carn Mor Dearg and Ben Nevis in the morning. The hotel isn't much to look at, definitely in need of a bit of love. I understand that renovations are apparently underway, though. Check-in was swift and conducted by a welcoming young lady. I found the staff throughout our stay very friendly. The bar was reasonably priced, and reasonably comfortable, although I'd perhaps suggest dropping the lighting a bit as it had the air of an ... Read more

We were put in an older building that looked like a dorm building for students. I was a little apprehensive at first. I didn't feel real safe. No air conditioning but it was okay since we opened the window. Comfortable bed and the room seemed very clean. Breakfast was very good and was included in with the price of the room.

This hotel was amazing. We stayed in a superior room £260 for two nights. The room was lovely and the bathroom looked as if it had just been done up. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was great absolutely everything you could ever want from cereals juice fruit and plenty of choice of cooked items. Buffet style so help yourself to as much as you want. We chose to eat in the hotel in the evening as well and again the food was excellent. Would definitely return.

The hotel was old and so were all of the people staying there. Rooms had no wi-fi and barely any water in the showers. The four-poster bed was very nice and comfortable but took up a large portion of the room. Breakfast was rather bland and very crowded.

Friendly staff when we arrived, our room was in the far wing which is not far, but too far from the bar :) Room were comfortable and includes the essentials, has that "old world charm" feel which you love or hate... even if you love you will probably hate the blue carpet but again very comfortable. After a night there were a few small things, one being the toilet seat was very loose but the second was the walls are very thin as there was someone snoring like a freight train in the room next do... My family of 6 stayed here while enjoying our 'Learn to Ski' experience. The food was really good, breakfast buffet kept us going most of the day and the evening meal options gave all our fussy eaters something to enjoy. The staff are very welcoming and we really enjoyed our time together as a family, round the dinner table laughing about the day's pratfalls and knowing that all was well with out accommodation. This is the second time we have stayed her , last July and recently. The room we had this time was so small and shabby peeling paint and mouldy windows. The hotel was not cheap £120 a night so we expected at least a clean room.We paid extra to eat at the hotel and it was hocking , we paid for three course but left after two having eaten very little . The hotel is in need of a makeover. However, our 4 day stay was very pleasant and nearby Fort William is a beautiful town with the start of the Jackobite Express steam train which goes to Mallaig as an added attraction. Our hotel room was small, if not tiny. Scottish breakfast a feast to set one up for the day and the pool was very pleasant early morning. The internet was only available in public spaces costing a fiver if you wanted access in the room.

And breakfast staff saved bacon and sausage baps for us on return from Ben Nevis! Very accommodating! Our rooms were adequate for an overnight stay BUT wouldn't like to stay more in rooms we had. As you can see from two photos one of my light fittings is hanging out of the ceiling I'm sure there is a health and safety issue there and the mould is growing around my bath I'm sure they could also be a health and safety issue there if I had time I would show you photos of the corridors doors et cetera the place is in a state of disrepair. It was about an hour and a half from Neist Point on the Isle of Skye to the hotel. The hotel was older, but it was one of the more spacious rooms we had stayed in. Unfortunately, we did not have a good night's sleep. There was a squeaky hallway door outside our door, and we could hear a lot of hallway noise. At the restaurant downstairs, we had a simple but tasty dinner of ravioli with a side of vegetables. In the morning, breakfast was simple but fine - it's always nice when a hot meal is in... A friend and I stayed here for 1 night before attempting the 3 peaks 24 hr challenge. It was clean and tidy, showers had good strength and breakfast was quite good. Only things I can mark it down was it was quite warm and that made it a bit uncomfortable to sleep even with the window open. And the music in the dinning hall was rather dull and monotonous. Small things but otherwise a very good stay.

Hotel was OK, rooms clean enough and comfortable. We booked 2 rooms for bed and breakfast and in the morning when we asked to sit at a table next to the others in our party the assistant took exception to the fact that we did not sit where she wanted us to. As a result, we were offered no tea/coffee/toast etc. and received many uncomfortable stares! This hotel is of the standard one would expect of a travelodge and is not worth the money. This is a difficult review to write. If I was reviewing this hotel after paying full price there is no way it would earn three stars so the rating is purely based on the experience I had after paying a heavily discounted price. Initial reception was poor. My partner and I arrived at half two and when I asked if I could check in I was quite rudely told that it was a 3pm check in. I understand this but there are ways of speaking to paying guests. I returned at 3pm and checked in with no prob... Read more

Stayed here as base for a walking trip up Ben Nevis; Paid £145/night for a twin room, a price that wouldn't be out of place in central London. I think it's overpriced. This hotel does have a very nice pool/sauna/steamroom/gym spa complex, which is great, and our room itself was perfectly clean and well presented. But the rest of the experience was not great, and I really wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless access to the spa facilities is a main priority. The public areas of the hotel le... Read more

I vastly enjoyed my stay. I agree with a lot of comments on here regarding the state of the rooms! They do need to be refurbished... however, I spent most my time in the lounge and bar area as that is where the free WiFi is. Reception guy (manager) could do with smiling!! I stayed two nights at this hotel and enjoyed it. I had a comfortable twin room with a street view. The hotel charges £5 to access internet in the rooms but free in the lobby. The restaurant offered a nice continental and Scots breakfast with haggis, and the bar offered a nice selection of whiskies and cheese tasting. The location is about a 25 minute walk to town which is a bit far especially if you want to wander around at night. It is near the Inverlochy Castle which was beautiful. The staff... Read more

Stayed here for one night on our way up to the highlands. As others have said, the decor in the rooms is very dated though our family room was clean and a good size. We had a good view of the mountain but also a garage and the main road which meant there was a fair bit of noise. Paid over the odds due to the season & a walking event that weekend. Found the double bed was actually two singles joint together, apparently this is standard procedure in many hotels according to the desk manager. After finding there was no hot water for a shower they did sent a plumber but there was little he could do. Positives - a decent pool/gym & unlimited sausages at breakfast! Shortly before visiting the Isle of Skye I was unable to book suitable accommodation. So instead we drove in, spent a day and drove out again. This limited our choice of hotels and had to accept an expensive stay in this huge hotel. I hate it when one has to pay extra for wifi in the room when you pay an exorbitant amount for a mediocre room! Not enough room the swing the proverbial cat. Thought we would give this place a try given it's proximity to Fort William. Like some other similar hotels in the area (e.g. the Isles of Glencoe) it seems to be past its heyday and that's not reflected in the price. Our first impression at reception was not great, It's a dingy, dark affair - not helped by the fact that there is very little natural light and dark wood and carpeting is the order of the day. Fine and traditional - but needs something to modernise and lift it. Corridors were bein... Read more

I could not find any lift even if there was any.It has a very nice club and we enjoyed our evening in the pool. The breakfast was OK and not that to be praised about.
