We have booked this venue for our evening wedding reception so took family there to sample the menu..... Just amazing! This place is a hidden gem. The food was delicious, we even struggled to make choices as so many tasty options. The hospitality is first class, we were made to feel welcome and Connan is the perfect host. This is definitely a place to visit if you enjoy good food and drink. This is now one of our favourite places! Looking forward to exploring the menu further.

We have booked our wedding reception here in August, so we took my sister and brother-in-law for dinner, and it was outstanding. It's our new favourite place and we can't wait to go back, they couldn't be more helpful, love love love wards. The owner is very helpful and nita has been amazing helping sort out our bits for our wedding reception, Conin makes you feel like your part of his family, so welcoming and warm

Hotel may show 3 star but the attention to detail, friendliness and welcome you receive is worth 5 star. A well done Colin and staff, and if you are visiting here you must try the restaurant choice of menu and presentation of food excellent. The rooms have been newly upgraded. We were leaving before breakfast was being served but this was no problem as croissant, danish and fruit supplied to keep us going. Will definately return to this hotel if returning to folkestone, a wee gem.

My parents booked us into the wards hotel as a treat for our wedding night and can honestly say u will not find a better hotel in Folkestone! The room was excellent (room 7), 4 poster bed, nice size bathroom with bath and shower. Breakfast the following morning was great, with many options and tea and coffee. We also stayed for the carvery lunch which was fantastic wide range of starters 3 choices of meats and a very good selection of desserts. Finally the best thing about the hotel is the... Read more

Very welcoming hotel within easy walking distance of the sea front and town. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and clean. Our breakfast was adequate but my poached eggs were very watery- although our waitress did apologise for this.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel luxury room very pleasant and helpful staff truly hidden gem. The breakfast was very nice bought out on request selection of cereals followed by a full England. I paid 117 pound for an executive room worth every penny. stayed here due to visiting my mother and intend on using this hotel in the future.

Visited this hotel for the second time to eat as had been advised to try the Friday night fish and chip special. As per the previous visit the food did not disappoint and provided excellent value. Overall the restaurant offers good food at reasonable price with excellent service. There is little more I can add.

The room is a gorgeous, modern design and very comfortable. The bed was huge and room very spacious and everything was very clean. The manager (Connan) was so friendly and welcoming and went the extra mile to make us feel at home. The food was really good, well presented and again great customer service. Very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great and there was a big selection. Don't be put off by the exterior, it is lovely inside! Highly recommend.

My wife and I had a double room and my 90 year old father had a double room with a walk in shower we stayed last weekend for two nights. Connan the owner goes the extra mile to make sure you're stay is everything you want it to be. He is very friendly as is all his staff, and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is very clean, the food excellent and overall good value for money. Would highly recommend this hotel. Kevin & Christina from Norfolk

We stayed at the Wards Hotel overnight on our way to Switzerland, after a nightmare journey from South Devon we arrived later than planned (9pm). Having contacted the hotel Connan assured there was no problem and we would be able to have dinner on arrival even though last orders were officially 8:30. This was so kind of him as the alternative would have been to throw ourselves on the mercy of Folkestone's restaurants about which we didn't have a clue. The Hotel is a little gem although the dec... Good clean room. The bar area was nice. The breakfast was good and the staff very friendly. The location is ok too with the centre only a 10-15 minute walk. The hallways are in need of a paint and carpets but I presume with the other areas looking good this may be on the agenda.

We stayed here for one night on our way to Italy. First impressions were not good. Although it's a fine looking, impressive old building, it was untidy and a bit tired even though it was obvious that the proprietors are trying to revitalise it outside and in. They've spent money but, in my opinion, not wisely. There are areas of the hotel that were untouched and very scruffy. Our room had obviously had a makeover but it was grey, grey, grey and dark. Then there was a magnificent carved wooden fo... Read more

We stayed for two nights. The location was great with just a five-minute walk to the seafront. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Granted, there was some light refurbishment going on but this went almost unnoticed. We could see that what was being done is going to improve the ambience of this hotel substantially, and it is already very good. Only slight negative was the small room size, but we knew this before we went and were prepared for it. We would definitely go back and have no hesi... Read more

Fantastic service, friendly and personal, Rooms excellent, Whilst in the process of being refurbished the rooms are fab, don't let the slightly tatty appearance of the hallways deter you,in fact I thing this adds to the character of the premisis, these are yet to be done and to be honest I do feel that getting the rooms and the restaurant up to excellent standard first has definitely been achieved. We stayed 2 nights, visiting family nearby. The Hotel is spacious and clean, the ensuite was adequate. We had a small problem which was dealt with promptly. The decor is modern and quite decadent, it's a work in progress but management is working hard to restore this lovely building. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was excellent, and special diets catered for with much attention to detail. I would recommend Wards Hotel, it's well placed to explore the historic seafront.

Ideally placed for the tunnel and port. Hotel is a "work in progress" as some rooms are recently renovated and the corridors are a bit tatty. No doubt it will be great once the work has been completed. Highly recommend the restaurant, good food and service at reasonable prices. What makes the place special are the excellent staff and friendly owner, who cannot do enough. Will return, five stars if all the renovations are complete!

We booked this hotel as it was convenient for the channel tunnel and I didn't fancy staying at the terminal itself. It's a small private hotel located in a nice tree lined road and obviously a conversion of a large Edwardian house - so looks appealing.
