I recommend this hotel. I stayed for 2 nights then went on an overnight tour then came back! I like being able to choose options to pay only for what i ned. Wi-fi very reliable and fast. Transportation so easy - near bus, tram, train (only a few steps away). Pub/bar right beside the hotel.

Located opposite haymarket station, 10 minute walk to princes street. Love this place, you build your own rate. Room without or with window, add towels, toiletries, Wifi and tv. No breakfast available but restaurant next door. You can buy hot and cold drinks, snacks. Beds are really comfy, rooms not big but efficiënt, bathroom spacious and very clean, nice atmosphere. Staff are ever so friendly for me it's always a pleasure to stay there.

This hotel was clean and staff friendly. However it is incredibly small. We had a first floor room and it was by the trash pickup. Everything is extra including towels and TV, which they turned off accidentally the last day. No phone in room to call down to front desk. Not a bad walk to the city center but if you're American this is nothing we are accustomed to. You also have to pay for early check in and a fee to watch luggage.

We booked this hotel as it was just across the road from Haymarket Station. The tram & bus to the city centre & airport stopped across the road directly in front of the train station. Princes Street was about 5 minutes by tram & everything was within easy reach. The road was small but laid out in such a way that we still had room. (We were staying in a twin room). You pay extra for things like tv, wifi, towels etc but it was still cheaper than any other local hotel! We found the reception staff ... Read more

there is a extra charge to use the towels, TV, hair dryer etc. can get expensive.Very handy location for all buseand Airlink from airport stop is at the door. train station across the street. There is a pub-eatery attached, that was ok, (staff more interested in each other then customers). only a few blocks to grocery-convenience store, is a easy walk.

This is a very nice hotel. Staff are very attentive to your needs and very pleasant to deal with. Rooms are quite small but just fine. Rooms and bed were very clean. Great location for public transit. Trams and buses stop right outside. Heymarket train station across the road. A restaurant and bar joins this hotel that has great food. Pay and display in the rear, ask at the desk as it is hidden, £15 per day.

I had just come from a very modern Tune in London so thought this would be similar. Room was actually a decent size, no complaints there, and the bed too. But everything was a bit worn out. There were scuff marks all over the walls and everything else seemed a bit tattered. That said, the staff were excellent. Front desk staff were very attentive and couldn't have been nicer. The breakfast in the attached restaurant, while not cheap was also very good. I'd stay here again, but would try f... Read more

Visited Edinburgh in early June with a bunch of friends and the majority of us stayed in the Tune hotel. I stayed in a twin room, basic size however very clean. You are essentially paying for a bed and shower so if you are needing tv, wifi etc. all of these are extra add-ons. Possibly one for ease of mind is getting the room safe though access to the rooms area is behind a secure card-access door. The location is great, if you are taking the tram/bus from the airport it is on front of you when ... Read more

My friend and I were only staying at the Tune Hotel for one night. Across the road from the station, easy to walk to the centre .... But... They charge for everything at this hotel chain.. Very small and claustrophobic. Luckily the booking I had made included towels,TV and hairdryer otherwise these are just a few of the things they charge extra for. We turned up early, so it was either pay an extra £7 for early arrival or £3.50 to leave our bags. So we just went off for a bit instead. No kettl... Read more

What more could you ask for - show shuttle buses stop at your door!! A clean and bright hotel - room not spacious but everything you need when your only sleeping in it for a few nights. Towels, toiletries and TV were included in our deal which I didn't realise beforehand so had come prepared - a lovely surprise! Platform 5 next door a must for breakfast.

We stayed here only for one night before traveling on to Inverness by train. As expected, our room was really small, but very clean and functional. Friendly staff. The concept is to pay extra for everything you might need in addition to just the accommodation, e.g. Wifi, TV, etc. Due to this the (base)prices are very affordable.

Despite booking around 6 months ago we we're informed on arrival that the rooms they had for us we're not the rooms we had booked. We'd booked 2 double rooms with windows. What we were given was 1 double without windows and 1 twin with windows. The excuse given was that a conference had booked all together and errors had occurred in the booking system. It seemed however that the conference had been given priority as it would be more lucrative to the hotel. To 'compensate' the hotel reception sta... Read more

Stayed for 1 night. We decided to pay more to save adding up all of the extras you need to pay for (wifi, towels, safe, hairdryer etc). The room was cosy and it was very clean. The wifi has to be paid for but has a very bad connection. Location of hotel is great very close to train station and town. Check out is 10 am and it is quite expensive for late check out. Over all good stay.

Booked for two nights on my way from Australia to pick up daughter in Edinburgh for trip to Spain. The only thing extra I paid for was a towel which was big and sparkly white and soft. Room was small but so thankfully was the price of it. It was spotless and the bathroom was very good. I really have nothing negative to say. It literally is a safe, clean place to sleep and ticked all our boxes. Train out front and airport bus out front (which was a blessing at 4.30am!). Also we didn't h... Read more

After booking out of the most awful hotel within half an hour we quickly re booked and came across the Tune in Edinburgh. The staff on the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and we were in a great location to explore the city.

2nd time staying at this hotel... always greeted with very helpful staff eager to assist.. apart from one member of staff who thought it was acceptable to blow the entire contents of her nose very loudly at the front reception desk, twice!"!" the only drawback was driving up to the carpark at the back and it is now a pay and display! this isnt very clearly marked on website.. apart from that its always been a pleasant stay

Edinburgh is expensive so we took the opportunity to book this hotel through a conference we were attending. The proximity to Haymarket station and its tram stop straight from the airport was ideal. I already knew about the extras and add-ons and the compact size of the rooms so no false expectations and no surprises there. We adjusted. We had a top (7th) floor room at the back, quiet, and clean with a nice view. The bed was a bit on the firm side for us and took some getting used to but the ope... Read more

This is ideally located - just across the road from Haymarket station with plenty of good pubs very close by. For the price paid there are no complaints. The room was very small but clean and modern. No tv but we could have paid extra for that. We had brought towels but these were provided. This is not somewhere for a romantic trip away, but for a cheap break it can't be beat!

My husband and I stayed here for one night. we'd booked last minute but got a good price. We paid for some of the extras (hairdryer, towels, tv, wifi etc) and glad we did. The room was very small but really nicely decorated and very clean. The bathroom and shower were great. we had a great stay and would definitely stay again. Great price for central Edinburgh in tourist season. The only downside was 10am check out which we felt was very early! you can pay for late check out but £15 we felt w... Read more

6 of us stayed here for a stag party and we were thoroughly looked after from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. after getting caught out in a rain shower and arriving back to the hotel soaked the staff provided us with towels at no extra charge despite not paying for them. All 3 rooms were upgraded from basic rooms with no windows to larger rooms with widows and a lovely view. rooms are spotlessly clean and tidy and I cant think of a bad word to say about this place! We visited Edinburgh during EASTER HOLIDAY and stayed there for three nights. Though the room was small but if you compare with Price and location then I must say this was one of our good deal. You must try if your would like a budget hotel in Edinburgh. Lot of indian restaurants are there nearby and city centre is only 10 mins by tram.

2nd time staying here as it's very convenient for concerts at the Conference Centre. This time we stayed in a room without a window to keep the cost down but it did feel it too claustrophobic for me and would go back to a room with a window next time.

We were attending a wedding in Edinburgh and decided to book a hotel at the last minute (same day) to stay over. We got a room here for just £49. We'd read reviews and knew to expect small rooms and to pay for extras, so we brought towels etc with us. It was a nice surprise though to find out all of the extras were included with the price of our room as we booked through booking.com. We were in a double room with no window. The room was way smaller than I expected, was very hard to move around.... Read more

Economic stay in edinburgh city comes at a price! So reasonably priced room has many hidden add ons....clean towels (changed on every 3rd day) WiFi...hairdryer...TV.....baggage storage....safe....early or late check-in/out. Car parking £15 for 24 hours (non of these explained when booking) leaving a nice surprise on arrival......and then no tea/coffee facilities in room.....not big enough to swing a cat!! Clean, very compact and good location for trains and town. If you haven't booked via a site like Booking.com etc then you will be in for a shock at what you have to pay for. All extras cost £2.50, soap, shampoo, towels, hairdryer with tv costing £5. They charge £2.50 to look after your bag the next day. So what I think, there is no courtesy. You get a room, full stop. It is like the Ryan Air of hotels. As long as you are aware of this and how it can bump up the price. I mean, please, come on ... Read more

Excellent location, perfect for the city centre and the bus from the airport. Airlink 100 bus (£10 return) dropped us off literally outside the hotel! It would have been nice to have a window or least know that there was none. Air conditioning noisy! No tea or coffee making services but probably no room.

Overall a little highly priced but the rooms were clean and it's in a good location, only 20 mins walk to shops and 30 min walk to Royal mile. Trams and trains right outside. Room itself was tiny and bed a little uncomfortable; found ourselves tripping over eachother and the bathroom you can barely fit in. Wouldn't go back.

There's a reason why this hotel is so cheap. They charge you literally for everything else. Check-in is at 3, but if you want to check early, they charge you. Leave your bag at the hotel, they charge you. Their shower kit, which they also charge you for, doesn't even consist of shampoo. The room itself is fine, but the walls are so thin that you can hear every time a door opens, someone walking outside, etc. I really would suggest paying a little more for a much better hotel because you end up p... I've stayed on couple of occasions during, overall it's an ok budget hotel. If you're never stayed here before and you haven't booked via site like Booking, expect to pay extra for everything. I mean everything from TV, wifi, towels and so on. They will keep your bags there for a charge as well. In short, expect to pay extra for a lot of things that you'd expect by default. Caught a tram straight from the airport directly to the hotel (opposite) you select haymarket on the pay machine just outside the airport, pay coins or card. There were 2 attendants there that would take cash but I think this is only at the airport. Every other stop you use to catch a train needs cash/card. Takes about 30 minutes to get to haymarket. 2 stops further and you're in the centre of Edinburgh, also by Waverley train station. Check in was quick and easy. We booked this hotel as a packa...
