I recommend this hotel. I stayed for 2 nights then went on an overnight tour then came back! I like being able to choose options to pay only for what i ned. Wi-fi very reliable and fast. Transportation so easy - near bus, tram, train (only a few steps away). Pub/bar right beside the hotel.

Located opposite haymarket station, 10 minute walk to princes street. Love this place, you build your own rate. Room without or with window, add towels, toiletries, Wifi and tv. No breakfast available but restaurant next door. You can buy hot and cold drinks, snacks. Beds are really comfy, rooms not big but efficiënt, bathroom spacious and very clean, nice atmosphere. Staff are ever so friendly for me it's always a pleasure to stay there.

This hotel was clean and staff friendly. However it is incredibly small. We had a first floor room and it was by the trash pickup. Everything is extra including towels and TV, which they turned off accidentally the last day. No phone in room to call down to front desk. Not a bad walk to the city center but if you're American this is nothing we are accustomed to. You also have to pay for early check in and a fee to watch luggage.

We booked this hotel as it was just across the road from Haymarket Station. The tram & bus to the city centre & airport stopped across the road directly in front of the train station. Princes Street was about 5 minutes by tram & everything was within easy reach. The road was small but laid out in such a way that we still had room. (We were staying in a twin room). You pay extra for things like tv, wifi, towels etc but it was still cheaper than any other local hotel! We found the reception staff ... Read more

There is a pub-eatery attached, that was ok, (staff more interested in each other then customers). only a few blocks to grocery-convenience store, is a easy walk.

This is a very nice hotel. Staff are very attentive to your needs and very pleasant to deal with. Rooms are quite small but just fine. Rooms and bed were very clean. Great location for public transit. Trams and buses stop right outside. Heymarket train station across the road. A restaurant and bar joins this hotel that has great food. Pay and display in the rear, ask at the desk as it is hidden, £15 per day.

I had just come from a very modern Tune in London so thought this would be similar. Room was actually a decent size, no complaints there, and the bed too. But everything was a bit worn out. There were scuff marks all over the walls and everything else seemed a bit tattered. That said, the staff were excellent. Front desk staff were very attentive and couldn't have been nicer. The breakfast in the attached restaurant, while not cheap was also very good. I'd stay here again, but would try f... Read more

Visited Edinburgh in early June with a bunch of friends and the majority of us stayed in the Tune hotel. I stayed in a twin room, basic size however very clean. You are essentially paying for a bed and shower so if you are needing tv, wifi etc. all of these are extra add-ons. Possibly one for ease of mind is getting the room safe though access to the rooms area is behind a secure card-access door. The location is great, if you are taking the tram/bus from the airport it is on front of you when ... Read more

My friend and I were only staying at the Tune Hotel for one night. Across the road from the station, easy to walk to the centre .... But... They charge for everything at this hotel chain.. Very small and claustrophobic. Luckily the booking I had made included towels,TV and hairdryer otherwise these are just a few of the things they charge extra for. We turned up early, so it was either pay an extra £7 for early arrival or £3.50 to leave our bags. So we just went off for a bit instead. No kettl... Read more

Towels, toiletries and TV were included in our deal which I didn't realise beforehand so had come prepared - a lovely surprise! Platform 5 next door a must for breakfast.

We stayed here only for one night before traveling on to Inverness by train. As expected, our room was really small, but very clean and functional. Friendly staff. The concept is to pay extra for everything you might need in addition to just the accommodation, e.g. Wifi, TV, etc. Due to this the (base)prices are very affordable.

Despite booking around 6 months ago we we're informed on arrival that the rooms they had for us we're not the rooms we had booked. We'd booked 2 double rooms with windows. What we were given was 1 double without windows and 1 twin with windows. The excuse given was that a conference had booked all together and errors had occurred in the booking system. It seemed however that the conference had been given priority as it would be more lucrative to the hotel. To 'compensate' the hotel reception sta... Read more

Edinburgh is expensive so we took the opportunity to book this hotel through a conference we were attending. The proximity to Haymarket station and its tram stop straight from the airport was ideal. We use Tune Hotels when we travel where they are available. They are our first choice. This was our second trip to Edinburgh and we again used Tune hotel. They are conveniently located across the street from the Haymarket train station. By train you will normally come into Waverly station, but the same ticket will get you on the shuttle train to Haymarket in about 5 minutes. Edinburgh has an excellent bus and transportation system to all parts of the city. In front of the Tune hotel is a city bu... Read more

I stayed here for 5 nights in Aug/Sept 2016. It really is tiny, and the room I had was near the main door from the lifts (a fire door), so as people were going through it at night, it would slam quite loudly behind them. If all you are looking for is somewhere clean to put your head down for the night, then this is fine, if you are looking for any sort of luxury other than that, I would recommend looking elsewhere. To be fair, they don't pretend to be anything other than what you need from a bas... Read more

It was okay, first time experienced staying in a room without windows. Clean and nice, comfy bed. The biggest issue was the insulation of the walls, I could hearing all conversation, snoring from the next room. Surely they could hear mine too. Anyone walking on the corridor could be completely heard from the room, hence woke up several times in the mornings. I never come across a hotel with such issues. The room we were given was so tiny that required a plan to to move in,move about and move out. On top of that we were told off (to put it mildly) by a certain lady from Poland who worked at the reception when we raised a complaint with her. The room was cleaned every 3 days!

The staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. The room we had was on the small side, but more than adequate for an overnight stay, immaculately clean, bedding was first class and the bed was extremely comfortable, toileteries and towels were also included in our price. The location of the hotel was fantastic - 10 minute walk from Princes street and opposite Haymarket Railway Station - what more couold you ask for! Although there were no catering facilities they had an agreement with "Pl... Read more

I stayed in this hotel which was not cheap at the time and there was no soap or towels in the room which I found very odd I did ask for them but by the time they cam it was all too late so not very impressed I also had a drink in the bar and one staff member was particularly very unhelpful and full of doom and gloom

Have stayed here once before in Spring and was neutral (hotel was appropriate for the price). Stayed here again in November due to convenient location (very close to Haymarket rail station and conference centre). I was given a room on the second floor. The room was extremely cold. Attempted to turn on the heater but it didn't seem to work (assumed it was me being stupid). I then called the hotel to be informed they were aware with issues regarding the heating on the second floor and so proceede... Read more

Stayed in a twin bed room with a friend while in Edinburgh to see a show. Good point- across the road from Hay market train station and a tram stop. Bad points- room is as basic as possible. There was such a draught from the windows made my hair blow in the breeze while in bed. The heating, or more correctly, air conditioning as there is no other source of heat, wasn't working and the room was freezing. Reception gave us a fan heater which helped a bit but was too noisy to sleep with so we reso... Read more

We have recently returned from a one night stay at the hotel with a group of colleagues on a Friday evening. Our booking was for 8 rooms, 6 doubles, 1 twin and 1 accessible room for a couple with a baby. Considering we only paid £44 per room we were given the comfort package and none of us could fault the hotel. It was perfectly located for our needs, check in was busy but they soon arranged another member of staff to assist. The air conditioning units did gurgle a bit but none of us were parti... Read more

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in November 2016 and it was reasonably priced for what we got. I understood that the slightly cheaper price compared to others I had looked at might mean the location wasn't as central, however, I was pleasantly surprised, it was about a nice 20 minute walk to Princes Street, and the main shopping area of Edinburgh, and if we were feeling lazy, we could jump on the tram which handily stopped almost directly outside the hotel! The room itself was clean with ni... Read more

This is a budget hotel where you have to pay extra for things like TV WIFI Towels and toiletries. We were very unsure about this concept but we paid extra for the things that we needed and it was a surprisingly good experience. The staff were brilliant and we could not fault the customer service. There is a bistro right next door ( which you can access directly from the foyer ) offering excellent value food. The room was small but it was spotless and the clever bathroom design maximised the spac... Read more

Perfect location, close to all big attractions and also across the road from Haymarket train station, airlink bus 100 available from the airport, drops you right outside the hotel and really good value also. Rooms are VERY small but they are lovely and clean and great shower too. Thanks to the staff for all their help throughout their stay.

Can't fault tune hotel at all, perfect location as it's close to train and tram links into the city centre. Quiet hotel and helpful staff who go above and beyond for you whenever needed. Our 3rd visit to the tune hotel and this time we booked a windowless room which was small but comfortable perfect for a night away and the price was great especially considering around Christmas time Will definitely returning to the tune hotel next year :)

Stayed here in November for one night while I was Edinburgh for a night out. Got a room without a window for £24, which was excellent value. Have stayed in other budget hotels in Edinburgh on previous occasions (easyhotel) and in comparison, this room felt much bigger, brighter and cleaner. The room itself is very basic and you have to pay for extras- like using the tv- but this is clear when you book anyway. Overall, a really excellent value budget hotel in a good location. Would stay again.

Ok, so Tune Edinburgh isn't five star, it is a budget hotel, but as long a you remember that, you can't go too far wrong. Got a tram from the airport to Haymarket, roughly taking 30 minutes, with the tram stop right outside the hotel, so very convenient. The rooms are small, but clean and perfectly fine for a short stay. Rooms are cleaned every three days, or more if you pay extra. Rooms included freeview TV, a safe, and a small amount of space to hang clothes. Staff were very friendly and ... Read more
