This was the most horrific place I have ever been, booked 2 nights for me & my partner to get away for the weekend and we checked in then booked the hotel across the road and left first thing. We were itching all night, it was freezing and no hot water. The room was very dirty and we just couldn't relax. There was stains on the carpet, the bed was older than me- the mattress sunk in the middle and gave us a sore back, I was itching and had bites on me. The breakfast option in the morning was cer... Was okay for a one night stay as close to the railway station. However the name makes you think it will be grander than it actually is. Very dated like stepping back to the 70's and room was cold. Badly in need of some serious refurbishment Breakfast is cereal and rather stale pastries and fruit that should have been in the bin. However staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Saw some bad reviews so wasn't sure what to expect. But for the price it was a good deal. Overall the place felt a bit 'tired' but the room was clean, a good size and nicely decorated, big and pretty the beds very comfortable (if you like hard mattresses which I do), . Staff were very nice and helpful, and they were clear about what the breakfast was, so were not expecting a full scottish english). Its an old building, so you need the water run a bit to get a hot bath, and the pipes wer... Read more

Having read the reviews I didn't expect much but I still feel the above rating is honest! Firstly the room was huge (and strangely pink) which was a plus had I stayed for the full two nights When I arrived I was told breakfast was complimentary and asked if it was a cooked breakfast. I specifically asked this as was led to believe it was just sugary cereal and snack bars from the reviews. The receptionist said it was cooked so I thought great. Only to find in the morning it wasn't cooked at al... Read more

The worse hotel where I have ever been because it is an old place without the essential facilities. The furtniture both in the bar/reception and rooms are old and run-down they are even dirty and smelly. I moved in three rooms before to find hot water in the bathroom. Thus most of them are without this obvious facility. The bath towels are substituted just one in 3 nights. The breakfast is poor and they lie on web saying that it is continental. The manager was rude and impolite even if I had a s... Read more
