Not really my favourite hotel type any more than holiday inn is, but you get what you pay for and the standard of the rooms is good. It is a "big" hotel, so be prepared for a long walk to reception, if you are unlucky, Reception staff were very helpful, bar staff inexperienced, serving a 12 year old whisky in a cognac glass, Still tasted good though. Great breakfast buffet, although getting in there was almost like going through airport security,, Location. Good, Easy to get to Princes street, ... Read more

This budget but well appointed chain hotel is in a great location for visiting Edinburgh or an overnight stay before flying out from the airport. Good restaurant for breakfast and evening meal in the same building. Near bus, rail and tram stops and car park nearby. Booked well in advance and got a very good deal.

Why does it take so long for the staff to greet customers and take them to their table? Frustrating large queues with little attempt made to say "I'll be with you in a couple of minutes". Room good, food quality OK.

I travelled up to Edinburgh to visit family and booked here again as it's in a reasonably good location for me. It's not right in the city centre, rather a 15min walk. It becomes a scenic walk however if you go via grassmarket. The room was clean and tidy and quiet enough despite overlooking the road junction. It's a normal premier inn stay.

There's really not much wrong with this Premier Inn - it's just that others are so much better! Check-in was fine, though the insistence of the person behind the desk on referring to me as "yourself" instead of the grammatically correct "you" got irritating after a while. The room numbering is bizarre! Half the room numbers match the floors on which they are located - the others don't. The room itself was, of course, clean and warm. However, the television was minuscule and there were no free... Read more

Staff (reception) completely indifferent, no action taken to lower noise, level from other guests in the hotel. Recently stayed for a long girls weekend with my sister, I also had a couple of business meetings to attend. We flew in on the Thursday and left our suitcase in their luggage room for free. This was a highly appreciated service which left us un burdened for our day trip. This hotel was just a 5 minute walk from the tram stop and a 10 minute walk to my meetings. Good location but noisy - their own website has a warning regarding a busy road and large building site - Please take note. The room was very dated, and noise could be heard from other rooms and doors closing shook the walls. Free internet is very slow, pushing guests towards paying for premium internet. I had a 15min queue to check in (bad timing?). If you can get their advertised £35 rate (good luck with that!) its a bargain, but at the £150 per night I paid it's nowhere near good enough t... The room was so very hot I did not get a wink of sleep and when opening the window to let in some fresh air the noise was so overpowering I could not sleep... At the reception they were confused about the reservation ( made in April) and it took them a long time to sort out, passing on the notion that it was our fault... I stayed here for one night, the location is just 5 minutes from Haymarket train station. The building has the huge Premier Inn sign on the roof, so easy to find if you are not familiar with the area. The room itself was surprisingly spacious, unlike other Premier Inns I have stayed in. My room faced onto a car park, which isn't an issue for me as I was only staying for one night. Absolutely amazing!! Perfect location everything is a walk away we are a couple of 22/23 it is perfect! No need for a taxi ANYWHERE we got a bus to the zoo and walked to the bars and nightclubs, it has got a quiet zone but too be honest that's a great feature I wouldn't want loads of noise at that time of the night, also restaurant downstairs is really lovely, would come again! Thankyou ! 10/10

Stayed over for one night with an early morning start to the airport. The staff was courteous and very accommodating to give us a room as a last minute walk in reservation, though the manager seemed to always have a tensed busy look. The room amenities were a bit basic for the price paid. We had a corner street facing room which was not in a quiet location away from the traffic. 3- pin Plug points could be changed to Universal ones to accommodate travellers coming in with phones and computers... My stay here was pretty much the same as every other Premier Inn I've stayed in, which isn't necessarily a bad thing like "Every McDonald's is the same". It was a very, very late booking here on a Fri night which cost me about £140 for a double room but the room was clean, the shower was refreshing and the bed, well, it's a Premier Inn bed. As I said, you know what you're getting with a Premier Inn. You're not looking for a turn down service or leisure facilities and because of this the pric... Read more

Stayed at this Premier Inn due to some travel changes. The hotel was nearly fully booked, but I managed to secure a room on the top floor when I mentioned I wanted a quiet room. On check in, I barely received a hello, just a quick check in. I asked the staff, who could clearly see that I had several pieces of luggage and travelling alone, if they had a luggage trolley so that I could take my things up to my room and was told, "No". No luggage trolley in a hotel? No one offered any help, either,... Read more

The outside of the hotel is not very inviting however I was pleasantly surprised on entering as it is much nicer inside than expected. The reception is functional and the staff were helpful. I stayed in this hotel for five nights. This hotel is situated near Haymarket station. Haymarket station is five minutes walk from this hotel. We have stayed here several times and would always be happy to return. The location is accessible tram and close to Haymarket station. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around and the walk into Princes Street gives a real feel for the city. The hotel is popular and often busy. Staff cannot do enough to help and are welcoming, friendly and efficient. I like also the taxi button where you press it and a taxi comes ( not expensive £6 to Dynamic Earth and less to Grassmarket)

We have stayed in quite a few Premier Inns and never been disappointed. The family rooms are great value as is the breakfast. We were (efficiently) transferred here after a booked room was wrongly given away at another Premier Inn. Staff were helpful and both of our rooms were fine. Evening meal was relatively good and breakfast was also good if not exceptional. There is a huge building project opposite so best not leave windows open. Although the immediate area is not too attractive it improves considerably as you near Haymarket station with some good individual shops and some fine houses. Excellent transport links.
