We had a room at the front street and you can't open your window. After a few days you miss the fresh air. For the rest: very good bed, water cooker and good shower. All rooms are identical but the ones in the back can open their window. Clean, wooden floor and modern.

From Airport by Express Bus to Waverley Bridge Station or from train station, with bags a hardy walk saves taxi ride. Hotel great location not far from High St (Royal Mile) without having to pay the higher costs to be on that attraction. Desk staff very helpful on our arrival and during stay giving directions & tips on local sights. Request for room away from Cow Gate St where nightlife goes into wee hrs of morn was met. Although room was not plush, very adequate that we would go to again. Re... Read more

I recently stayed in this hotel for just one night. Near the train station and very close to the Royal Mile. I had a very quiet room on the 9th floor with quite a nice view. On arrival there was a slight problem with my room, but was immediately given another one. The room itself was very spacious, spotlessly clean and smelt really fresh. The bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was a very unusual shape and I thought it looked quite small until I actually used it. The corner shower was real... Read more

We booked it via Easyjet and got a fantastic deal. Arrived earlier than checkin time but that was not a problem and we were allowed into the room. Great friendly bunch working there. Nothing was too much. Great position as well. Near enough to walk to amenities but far enough to have a good rest at night. Breakfast was plenty and varied to suit all tastes. If you want porridge you must ask for it. It's always made to order and therefore fresh and gorgeously yummy!

Rooms are bland but functional. Breakfast is not a good experience. You queue for coffee as only one machine works, You queue for toast. You queue for lukewarm bacon and eggs. You then have to navigate the coffee queue to get cutlery as it is stored in an awkward corner. You now have to find a table with your stone cold breakfast. If you can find fresh milk you win a major prize, Shambolic.

We used this Ibis as a base in Edinburgh during our holiday in Scotland. We left several pieces of luggage in their storage room as we left the city twice for different tours. The staff at this hotel is fantastic and very helpful....in particular the front desk employees and everyone in the dining room. Lots of tour groups use this hotel so be sure to book well in advance! I would stay here again in a heart beat:)

We reached at 9:40 finding no fruits , hardly much selection of bread ( no brown bread ) , no scones or potato is the hot dish which they were also not sure what existed in the empty dish, no refill to be made . I bought this to the notice of the chef who happened to come and see and he said they were over . I stood at the Ibis South Bridge for 4 nights on my holiday in Edinburgh. It was truly a mixed experience. The good: location, location, location. It was less than a minute walk to the Royal Mile, Waverly station and the bus for Rosslyn Chapel. The rooms were quiet so I must have gotten one in the quiet section of the hotel. The bad: The first thing that stands out is that my room was not made up the first day I was there. I don't know whether house keeping just simply did not get around t... Read more

This hotel was definitely our least favorite on our honeymoon. It was like staying in an ikea with hardly any comforts. The staff was nice but seemed clueless. Anytime we asked a question (including the weather) the had no answer. They did not know anything about the surrounding area and just were not the best to help tourists. The best thing about this hotel is its location - less than a 10 minute walk from Waverley Train Station and just a block off the Royal Mile. The room was a standard "European tiny," but exceptionally clean and I suspect that the hotel was either new or very recently renovated. There's no denying that the location of this hotel is one of its selling points. However, various aspects means I'd be unlikely to stay again. The beds were very firm and I had a sore back after 2 nights. The bathroom is tiny with few surfaces for items or hooks for towels or clothes. Fantastic location in the middle of Edinburgh; you're just off the Royal Mile and walking distance to most of the well-known attractions. The rooms are very comfortable, and I really liked all the environment-friendly options for room cleaning. I would expect a hotel of this type to have more toiletry items (e.g. shower cap), but that's a minor issue. However, the laundry service is ridiculously over-priced; if you need to get some clothes cleaned, you'd be better off going looking for a laund... Read more

Excellent loction being about 150m from the Royal Mile, very new and modern hotel, spacious room, good sized bathroom. Friendly staff, car parking is in a nearby parking station about 10min walk and is subsidised at £10 per 24 hrs. Only issue was the mattress which is supposed to be some fantastic Ibis design, it was flat and not particularly good for someone with back issues.

First, the staff at this hotel were awesome, they were kind and helpful, it is not their fault this hotel is terrible. It is consider a new hotel, but felt like a college dorm, it was very cold, bland, and very uncomfortable. The beds are hard as rock! The floor would have been better. The sheets were dirty, and talk about cheap rooms. The Ibis charges a lot for this hotel, should have gone to the Hilton instead for the money we spent. Very comfortable hotel in great location. En-suite was a little unusual, we called it the tardis. Bed was very cosy. The room was so quite it was hard to believe so many were staying at the hotel as we observed at reception. We could barely hear anything from outside either despite being in the city centre. Room also had air conditioning. I would recommend visiting the Jazz Bar which is very close by to.

Clean and comfortable - nothing fancy. Rooms are quite small. Rather "cheesy" pre-fab plastic bathrooms. Restaurant had a very spicy menu and played loud rock music. Not for us so we went elsewhere. No parking anywhere near the hotel. If you don't use the daily maid service they give you a gift certificate for 5 off at breakfast.

The hotel location was excellent, the royal mile was just a 2 min walk away. Rita at the front desk was very helpful and efficient. The rooms were basic but decent. My main issue was with housekeeping. Every evening we returned to find the room still kind of shabby, with a basic superficial cleaning done. There were always hairs in the bathroom (some not ours), towels that were left on the floor as per the instructions were left as they were for the entire 3 days we were there, and there was alw... I stayed for two nights here in September 2016. I've stayed in one other Ibis, and this was very nice by comparison. The location is wonderful and the hotel is clean, has very fast elevators, and I received a 5 pound credit for use in the pub because I didn't have my room cleaned. The room was fine, clean, and a good size. It has those prefabricated bathrooms, but they are well designed and sufficient. Not much character, but it was a comfortable and satisfactory stay.

You cannot get much more central than this hotel without spending a small fortune. It might not be the prettiest building in the area, in fact it is a somewhat ugly concrete slab with windows, but it is comfortable and practical enough for that to be overlooked. The second night it took them untill 10pm to get this issue fixed which then meant we had to move rooms after 10pm with a baby who should have been long sleeping. The following day, our room wasn't cleaned, no clean towels. Still had to pay full price. So their 15 minute p... Read more

We booked while visiting for our daughter's graduation in November. The hotel is a short walk from Waverley station as well as airlink bus from airport. Rooms are big and comfortable. Hotel has a policy if you skip room cleaning you get a 5 GBP voucher which one can redeem at the restaurant against breakfast or food. Free Wi-Fi is available in the room at good speed. Cover and tea facilities are also available.Strongly recommend for price, facilities and location

This hotel is within a very short walk to the Royal Mile. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a wide variety of dishes and was open late. Thank goodness as we got in quite late the first night. The room was small, but very clean. Interesting bathroom - it was a 'pod', like a one piece unit. I felt like I was entering a space capsule each time I went in, with David Bowie's song in my head. I would definitely book this place again.

Stayed here for one night with kids to visit the xmas markets. Requested a quiet room (as I read previous reviews about loud music) and when we checked in we were told we have put you in a quiet room on the side street of the hotel. However, music was banging until at least 3am. Not much sleep was had. 3 stars are because the room was fine enough. But would not stay here again. Not worth £150 for one night with no sleep.

This hotel has no family rooms. We had to put the children into two rooms. One with grandparents and one with parents otherwise a lovely weekend. It was really close for shopping and entertainment. Breakfast was really good

I can't believe the quality of the rooms and the service is so good considering the price we're paying. So we're here until the 30th and so far every person here has been so incredibly nice and professional. I lost my purse in the dining area and after about half an hour of panicking looking around Edinburgh for it, we got back to the Ibis and the dining staff had found it. I was so relieved and grateful that they were so honest and kind about it. I would suggest this hotel to any couples travel... Read more

4 of us stayed here at the end of November. Both rooms was close together as requested which was great. The rooms are fairly small but big enough for two. The beds are so comfy and breakfast each morning was fantastic. Would stay here again. Great location!

This hotel is very well placed for short stay tourists. Since all the necessary things are accessible and tourist attractions can be visited even by walk if preferred. The city of Edinburgh is very beautiful and one has to walk down the streets to admire and enjoy the beauty. All restaurants, shops and supermarkets are very near to this hotel and one can even find late night food just by walking down the streets for a few yards. The railway station is just 7-10 minutes away and so does the m... Read more
