The hotel was very handy for the airport, about a 15 minute walk with luggage in tow (they do offer a shuttle bus for £2.50 but we thought that was a little pricey given distance). We had a reasonable evening meal, surprisingly good standard actually. The staff were helpful and friendly. My major gripe was that the room was like a furnace. The radiator was making a very loud clicking those as well. I turned it down as low as it would go but it was still red hot and noisy. Needless to say I go... Read more

My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Edinburgh Airport in Jan, 2016. Despite only residing 20 minutes from the airport, we booked this hotel for the car parking package which made it cheaper think paying for the car alone. Was a great stay in a fairly modern building with friendly staff and good food. Transport to and from the airport is provided for a token fee and the bus comes right outside the hotel door. This is the second closest hotel. First one is the Hilton.

Modern minimalistic clean economy hotel with bedrooms similarly so but of reasonable proportions. Restaurant fayre not dissimilar to modern family pub fayre offering the likes of pizza or pre-packed meals from the freezer. Nevertheless it's handy for the airport with shuttle bus collection/return from Edinburgh Airport, also hotel car parking is competitively priced making stay-park-fly an attractive less expensive option.

Booked 2 rooms for one night, flying out to Basle the next morning, cheapest available £148 each room only! This is steep considering it's located on an industrial estate!! Then having to pay extra for a sparce buffet breakfast, then prior to leaving, £2.50 for a shuttle bus to the airport. Sorry but this is unacceptable, granted the highland show was on weekend prior, fringe festival weekend coming, this was a Wednesday night, one night! We stayed overnight between flights. The room was comfortable and spacious and it was clean. The bathroom was kind of sparse in its amenities, such as decent size bath towels, soap, etc. The biggest problem was that there were not adequate directions about the shuttle from the airport. It was not at all clear that they shuttle was the same one that goes to the rental car parking, and there were no signs in the aiport indicating this. The hotel is very expensive, and it is not clear why. Th... Read more

This hotel is a basic hotel, simple with no real amenities. Provides a place to sleep the night before departure. Typical breakfast served buffet type foods and quite ordinary but adequate. The staff was all very nice and helpful. I would stay again for the convenience to the airport and I didn't find the cost for the shuttle to be too much for the short ride.

The Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Airport was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. We stayed here on the last day of our UK trip since it was next to the airport. The room was very clean. There was a large shower with plenty of water pressure. The hotel has a full bar and a restaurant as well. There is not much in the way of local activities within walking distance. We rode the Free Tram to the Airport and then jumped on the Express Tram to downtown (4.5 pounds) to eat dinner. (30... There was very poor air quality in the room - it was hot and stuffy although the weather was cool. I had to open the windows to get some oxygen and then was kept awake by aircraft noise. The wifi was so slow as to be almost useless. The airport departures is a £2.50, 5-10 minute shuttle ride away. Breakfast was the standard Holiday Inn Express buffet - ie not great. Next time I will use the Hilton which is closer to the airport.

We arrived from our flight very late and were greeted with smiles and very helpful staff. They prepared us a bite to eat at almost midnight when we arrived and served us a few drinks. Our room reservations were a little messed up but they were very quick to right the situation. Very nice place and the rooms were nice as well.

We used this hotel twice for our trip abroad as both our outward bound and return flights were at very antisocial hours. The hotel is of the usual Holiday Inn express standard - this year we were on the ground floor -rooms there are a little more spacious than upper floor rooms which we have had in past. Car parking was included in the rate we had - so very good value for money. Breakfast is also included - being an airport hotel continental breakfast starts conveniently early - although the coo... We stayed here for an overnight on our return from a holiday in Austria to save driving home at 9pm in the evening. Staff were very friendly & helpful. We were in time for a late dinner - last orders are 9.45pm for food. We asked for a triple room which was large & spacious. Check-out was 11am but the receptionist told us in f we needed to check-out later just to let them know we needed some extra time. Good value & convenient for the airport.

Nice modern hotel though without air conditioning. Leaving windows open invites a fair bit of noise from car park shuttle buses and a small number of aircraft during the night. There is a shuttle bus to the airport for which the charge is GBP2.50 to the airport - the return journey is free. Overall if you need to be at the airport for an early morning departure this hotel is fine.

We'd stayed here before it was taken over by Holiday Inn and upgraded as it is handy for the airport and an early flight. It was OK then but a bit faded. Have to say that the refurbishment has really improved it and both the public spaces and rooms are very comfortable. The rooms are quiet and have everything you'd need and the bathrooms are very nice with a powerful shower. My Dad and I stayed here in May the night before and early morning flight from the Edinburgh Airport. We thought this was a great idea because of this hotel's proximity to the airport and the 'included' breakfast. Their website states that breakfast is served as of 4am. This is not exactly accurate. Their buffet breakfast is open as of 4am which means you have access to a small subset of what they state on their website that the breakfast includes. In other words, don't expect to get your sausag... Read more

Very much within touching distance of the airport the hotel offers a decent sized bedroom, excellent bathroom and a comfortable bed for the night. Breakfast is somewhat limited but sufficient. It would be - along with the nearby Hilton - the best choice for a stay near the airport.

The hotel is very convenient to the airport and great for morning flights home. A shared shuttle is available that costs 2 1/2 pounds for rides to the airport and is free for rides to the hotel. A breakfast buffet is included in the room rate with hot food available about 6:30 AM. This is the second time I've stayed at the hotel and next time I'll ask for a room away from the front entrance. We stayed here for a night, having landed late at the Airport. It's easy to get to on the free bus which only takes a few minutes.
