Stopped in a compact room and a 3/4 sized bed which was small but it wasn't an issue. Friendly, informative staff. Lovely buffet breakfast with lots of options. Reasonably priced. Hotel and room was clean and tidy.

Thought we'd booked a top rate hotel. First off we weren't in the 'main' building but in the 'overspill' over the road. Building, although retaining character was in desperate need of a make-over. We were on the 3rd floor, accessed by a tiny lift. I hope there was no-one in the room below as the creaking floorboards would have driven them mad because they were annoying us! I'm sure it's been mentioned before? Room was large enough but that was the best of it. The window was so badly fitti... Read more

Rooms are clean and comfortable. No electrical outlets by the bed which was inconvenient. Incredibly wonderful shower with great water pressure. Front desk staff is very friendly, very polite, very helpful. This hotel is located outside of the city center but the downtown area of Edinburgh is easily accessed by taxi or you can walk if you have the time. There are about a half dozen steps to enter the hotel but they do have a lift that you can use to get to your room.

I booked this trip very last minute and booked the Hilton Grosvenor because familiarity of the hotels brand name, price and location. My sister in law and I arrived Edinburgh Waverly train station and decided to take public transportation to get to the hotel. The buses can be found minutes from the train station on Prince Street. We hopped on a double decker bus, I want to say it was the number 34 bus and we were advised by friendly locals to get off at the Haymarket stop, it was maybe a 10 minu... Read more

I have to congratulate the team here on how they managed an unfortunate power cut at 6am today. The team carried on regardless and managed to provide an excellent breakfast service. They kept great banter with the customers and it was a far more enjoyable atmosphere than the usual one of no one speaking to anyone. The chef could be heard chatting to guests letting them know what food he could offer them. Well done!
