I booked an afternoon tea for myself and a friend when I visited Edinburgh recently. My friend has some food alergies which can be quite restrictive however we were respectfully accommodated, the food that was served was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The server was friendly and attentive. Based in our experience I would absolutely recommend the afternoon tea to anyone wanting a treat. We did not stay so cannot comment on any of their rooms or facilities.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay for our wedding anniversary, lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff, the food was very good we had breakfast, afternoon tea and an evening meal, 2 minutes walk to the Haymarket train station. Thank you to the amazing staff at The Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor. I would highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed in a junior suite and it was quite nice could maybe do with a wee bit of decorating! Apart from that it was well equipped and very spacious! The breakfast we had in the morning was I have to say one of the worst I've had when staying at a hotel everything tasted very basic actually not that tasty at all! Would go back if I had to but would probably opt to stay somewhere else.

Clean, comfortable and very accessible, I've stayed here for business on many occasions. Its a great place for a conference as the staff are fabulous and accommodating. The restaurant for breakfast is like most hotel restaurants and the tables are quite close together which makes getting in and out with plates interesting. The food is fine though reasonable range and freshened up regularly. The bar is pricey 'hotel' prices as they say but there are lots of local pubs and restaurants if you'd p... Read more

Disappointing for a Hilton. This is definitely a ‚??no frills‚?? hotels. Rooms are incredibly small and quite uncomfortable. Beds are not comfortable. No table and chairs. I can‚??t imagine where you are supposed to put room service food orders. No air conditioning, and the window can only be opened enough to allow a 3-inch opening. That‚??s not sufficient to let in enough air to keep the room cool (a fan is provided). No minibar or refrigerator. No ice or ice bucket, but the bar will g... Read more

The Hilton grosvenor is split on 2 sides of a road. One side has all amenities the other nothing - I'm surprised it can be called a hotel. I'm guessing they are pushing boundaries of Trade descriptions here. On pointing this out Albert at reception said nothing I can do. I advised that I would write this in a review - not bothered Therefore, if when you stay in a hotel you expect a bar or a restaurant, this has neither, unless you walk down the road to another Hilton which is clearly a diffe... Was hear two nights for a Conference nearby. Was allocated a room in the annexe which is across the road from the main hotel. I was on the ground floor at the rear of the hotel. The window had various bolts, fixings and if you were a lady on your own I am not sure if you would feel safe in the room overnight. Outside was a path that had overgrown trees and looked a bit wild. Large room and excellent bedding. Excellent bathroom. The breakfast was very good and varied.

Good things about it: - quiet area - very clean (in all areas) - friendly, polite and nice staff - great breakfast spread - great coffee (Costa) - my room and bathroom were really light and large - great shower Bad things: - no parking spaces on the street apart from the occasional one at extortionate Council rates and, if you find one you have a 4 hrs max stay. This prolonged our check-in and since they weren't expecting us, we had a less than ideal room because they were supposedly fully booked, and didn't have any available upgrades as I'm a gold member. I was very disappointed to find myself accommodated in the annexe. When I eventually reached my room having negotiated several sets of stairs, it was very cramped and hot but I couldn't reach the window to open it because of a shelf that ran the full length of the window wall. First time in Edinburgh and also the first time in the Hilton Grosvenor, and I will be honest, never again...... This hotel is more like a upgraded Coronation Street build-up. Very small rooms, old furniture, dirty carpets and a very noisy floor. I first thought it was a joke, when my colleague texted: "this hotel is a disaster", but after my arrival I was confronted with the real life situation. The hotel is near the Congress Center and you can walk to all nice places Edinburgh has to offer. ... Read more

Pleasant check-in with a friendly and helpful welcome. Room was very average for an above average price. Creaking floors and tatty decor, though clean and comfortable. Breakfast was standard buffet with a decent selection of cooked and continental options. Have stayed in better Edinburgh hotels.

Not great location to where I needed to be university of Edinburgh. Room very small but very clean. Good for single Was told chef would make to order at breakfast but was not to be found and seemed surprised when I asked for something. Desk clerk woke me at 2am and no apology was offered.

Had a very pleasant 2 night stay here in September using our Tesco Clubcard vouchers. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and we had a great meal in the restaurant on Friday night; the food was excellent. Location-wise, it was within walking distance of the city centre (around 10-15 min walk) but was also close to Haymarket Station for public transport links (although we did not choose to use them). Apparently you need to have the correct money on the ... Read more

My room was great. It was a twin and well appointed, in the town house over the road, not the main hotel. Slept well, very quiet. Breakfast was very good, lots to choose from and plenty of staff to look after you. In fact almost seemed too many of them! But that's not a complaint. Hence my only complaint was that when I got up in the morning there was no hot water! Nothing. Seemed there was an unknown issue on some floors in the town house. I was given a room in the main hotel for a shower w... Read more

I have take. Some time to write this review as this one night stay was part of a year of treats from my daughter for my 70th year. We were put into the annexe across the road and to say the room was small is an understatement. It was right in the corner. There was a double bed, a tiny wardrobe an ironing board propped up against a wall. No fridge. No water. The tiniest of en suite shower rooms. I think this hotel should be ashamed of itself and I felt very embarrassed and disappoint... Read more

Amazing hotel with a great room. Comfy bed and the room was excellent. Great staff who were extremely helpful and the food was great. Central location - 20 min from Edinburgh airport. We had a business meeting there which was perfect - the room, lunch, staff, everything.
