We really enjoyed our stay here. It was clean, modern, had a nice bar and restaurant. It was located right on the quay and had parking. It was perfect for us, as we wanted an early start to visit the old course in St. Andrews. The staff were also helpful and friendly. Worth every penny. I do have to warn fellow North Americans, be prepared to being chargers for electronics. No hotels or vehicles seem to have usb chargers built-in.

Business Dinner. Service very good standard but first course - poached salmon- was almost raw and really not edible. Discovered I was not alone. Rest of the meal was fine. Not the standard usually experienced there. Also toilet facilities not so good - lack of paper!

The arrival experience was not so good, the hotel doesnt look much from the outside but inside it's clean, bright and modern. The bedroom was very modern with floor to ceiling windows and great views of the waterfront. Another plus is that there is a car park on site. Nw the down sides WiFi is free BUT only if you agree to have all your details sold on to third parties, come on Apex - no business traveller wants more spam in their emails. Nice hotel, good location. Allocated room 323 directly across from lifts, and a Friday night so reckon you can guess that it was almost impossible to get any sleep .....on checkout a note added to my account to make sure I would not get a similar room in the future ......given that I will not be back it is kind of an empty gesture

Had Afternoon Tea here on Monday, this was second time we have been here and cannot fault it. The only negative thing I would say is go back to serving it the original way on a stand and not in a wooden box. This is not the way to serve afternoon tea.

Stayed at the Apex hotel to celebrate my partners birthday. On arrival it seemed ok, very clean, modern rooms, but beds very uncomfortable, more staff needed on bar area especially when function on in hotel slow service. Layout of hotel main area not so good after enjoying time in the spa area (to be fair is not as nice as photos make it look with lighting) u then need to make your way through bar area which was very busy on this occasion to get to lifts. A group of us, around 50, had booked our evening meal there after a day touring the city. Three of us arrived early at the hotel and decided to have cappuccinos and water. Half an hour later we were still waiting. They said they were too busy serving drinks to a hen party of bunny girls. We got the manager and eventually the order arrived, cold. We were at the end of our tether when another order arrived , hot and with cake, no charge. This did not bode well for the evening meal. We were told to... Read more

I stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip. The room was well-equipped and clean, but the seagulls were noisy if you sleep with the window open. Breakfasts were OK, but I recommend ordering from the menu rather than using the self-service food. I had two evening meals there - one was disappointing as the fish appeared to have been frozen but the other (pork) was good. The free wifi speed is outstanding.

Attended the Apex this week for a 3 night business trip. Apex is right by the tay bridge on the quay, so couldn't be much more central. I parked in the FREE car park attached to the hotel (charging for car parking is something I truly despise and only done by, oh I'm rambling again...) Checked in quickly and efficiently at 6pm with no fuss and no queue, by a very lovely receptionist who issued me my RF room card. Always like this system better than slot cards. The Apex is easy to get to and has a good car park on site. The restaurant is modern and offers views of the Quay. We had the set menu afternoon tea which was cleverly presented and tasty. There was plenty of choice with dainty sandwiches, rolls, quiche, coronation chicken pots along with 5 different cakes. Service was a bit slow and we had to ask twice for a coffee refill but it was an enjoyable meal.

We've stayed at the Apex in Dundee countless times over the past 8 years and we primarily go for the Spa and a weekend break. Despite this, we're always asked "have you stayed with us before?" and we thought it might be nice if their computers would let them know this as over the years we've spent a fairly large sum of money on the hotel. Relatively new hotel by the water could do better. To enter you need to walk through clouds of cigarette smoke (move the smoking area) into a crowded bar area. We stayed at the Apex hotel in the junior suite which was lovely! Very spacious and lovely decor. The bathroom was an amazing size with a large bath and separate shower. We didn't have any treatments at the Yu Spa but we did use the pool which was very nice and the hot tubs were fab! The hotel is in a great location, with parking facilities. We arrived a little early before our room was ready and were able to wander about the city and the hotel phoned us when our room was ready. We walked into t... Read more

My expectations were too high for this hotel. I thought after seeing the reviews it would actually be a 4 star hotel. Our shower has mold in it, carpet is loose, chair dirty. I ask for a different room or the mold to be removed and the front desk assured me it would be. It wasn't touched. There is no air in room but lobby and halls are cooled. They do offer a fan. The window only opens a crack so much too warm for us to get a comfortable sleep. My fault as I'm not sure I looked for air condition... Read more

We bought the itison voucher for gym,spa & lunch. We all had a good catch up while chilling out after the gym. Afterwards we had an amazing buffet style lunch with choices for everyone. Can't wait until the next offer ???

The hotel is in a very good location on the dock side and close to city centre and all road routes. Please note that car parking is free for hotel guests. Staff are nice and friendly and rooms are a good size. Our room faced the dock and we loved it, the lights at night looked good across the water. Other Restaurants are close by the hotel and a few minutes walk will take you to the city centre.

We recently stayed at this lovely hotel and were happy with the warm welcome and great experience. We were booked in for a spa retreat with dinner, bed and breakfast. When we arrived the staff were welcoming and informative. The room was of a good size, clean and tidy. The view from the room was pleasant although we could see the traffic onto the bridge we could not hear it. We could also see the apex purple duck. Our meal that evening was delicious and again staff were courteous. The following ... Read more

We have visited this hotel many times...its our favourite place to relax the staff are unbelievably helpful and friendly, the facilities in this hotel secind to none spotlessly clean the clorine free swimming pool is something you need to try. The view from our room was stunning anc the lication is superb ...just out the city enough to be peaceful but literally over the street to many bars and restaurants. We will cotinue to return to this hotel for years to come.

Afternoon tea for two could not have been better. Lovely restaurant and welcoming staff even though it was very busy. Served differently from normal afternoon tea as no cake stand. A little box contained amuse Bouche, little filled rolls and sausage rolls. Another plate had delicious scones with jam and clotted cream. An individual plate for each person was decorated and had a selection of cakes. Both tea and coffee were replenished without any problems. A great experience.

Stayed one night on our way elsewhere. From the moment we arrived the scene was setand we know we were on to a winner. We were checked in by a great young man called James who was so helpful & polite as were all the staff. Our room was fantastic spotless & comfortable. The facilities were excellent too. Only disappointing bit was that we couldn't stay longer.

We enjoyed our stay here ! Rooms are decorated in a contemporary style & ours was very clean. Complimentary bottled water in mini-frig ! Comfortable bedding & plenty of lighting. My only complaint is the lack of A/C, but apparently few to zero hotels have it here !!

Went on a spa break with family to celebrate a big birthday but felt very let down by the whole experience. When we arrived reception were very overstretched and stressed. We headed to the spa and had our treatments which were lovely, the therapists were well trained professional and knowledgeable and we felt super relaxed, this feeling didn't last as we went into the spa facilities, they were crowded and very noisy with nowhere to sit and chill, sauna and steam rooms were full and only one hot ... Reception and bar were lovely but the room was a very poor standard. We had booked a room for a couple and it wasn't even a double bed. Was 2 single beds pushed together. Not even the same height. The tv remote never worked and the hair dryer was such a nuisance. The sauna and steam room were disgustingly smelly, the hot tubs were barely on and the pool was freezing. I would not reccomend this hotel for the money you pay.

Great, efficient service, food and cocktails etc very affordable. Will return, possibly for an overnight stay! Only thing that my husband pointed out was the glass bottle from which the water was poured, looked very grimey at the top. Just a peace of constructive criticism.

I wasn't sure what to expect as we drove toward the hotel, but it was a great stay. We had booked a large room that overlooked the water. The room was clean and the bathroom was fantastic. There is a bar downstairs (although it closes a bit early) and a comfortable lobby. We reached the hotel earlier than expected and had a light lunch while we waited for them to finish the room. My husband used the gym and others in my party used the pool and hot tub - each got high marks. I slept in late - w... Read more

Stayed one night at the Apex hotel; we were in Dundee for a birthday party. Firstly the outside of the hotel does not reflect the quality of the hotel inside or the service received. I travel a lot and feel this hotel offers a very good stay experience. The room was extremely clean, the bed very comfortable and spacious, the TV was a good size with good channel choice, the bathroom was large with a bath and shower, chairs and a table were available, we had a good view of the Tay estuary, the sta... Visited Dundee to do the Oor wullie trail. Stayed one night here and was great. On arrival our room was not ready so we got complementary drinks while we waited which was not long. My granddaughters had a chat about the ducks in reception and were excited about finding one in our bathroom. Sadly no duck. I mentioned it to Lynsey on the desk who told us there was a problem with supplies but would post one (well two) out to me. We had dinner in the hotel which was enjoyed by us all especially the ... My husband and I are just back from a couple of nights in this beautiful hotel. We particularly enjoyed the spa with the jet pool and sauna. ...heaven. we had only been in our very spacious room with king size bed for about half an hour before we decided we'll be returning very soon x Anyone would find it difficult to fault this place. Staff are marvellous, food is delicious, rooms are beautiful and the spa is definitely the best you'll find. ..we were not surprised to see it's one of the fin... Read more

Check in slow as only 2 people checking in and lots of people trying to do so. Nice friendly staff. Room very tired. We were given a disabled access one for some reason! Walls marked, furniture chipped. Wardrobe would not shut properly and only arm chair in front of others. Has the items in the room that make up a four star hotel, iron/board/safe/kettle etc but room itself basic. Bed comfortable, soft. Nastiest stained pillows with no protectors on them. Would have given 3 if not for those and ... Read more

Service was good and staff friendly. Sorted any issues promptly. I feel standards have dropped a bit though. Windows a bit draughty/wind noise and noise from the corridor outside room at night is loud wth people making their way back to the room. Generally not just as good as the few rimes we've stayed before. Had Scottish breakfast at the Bridgeview Station cafe just down the road, it was excellent and way cheaper than the hotel prices & nice view of river from table.

Just home from a weekend in Dundee staying at the Apex hotel. We had a fabulous time, every staff member was nicer than the next one, food was excellent, hotel room spotless, each of us had a massage and it was the best massage I certainly had ever had, really enjoyed myself and certainly will be back
