Location excellent. Building & grounds stunning! We got a good deal through booking.com & enjoyed an overnight stay in a double room. Only problem in the room was the fact they put 2 single mattresses on top of bed base. This is not what we expected & was not comfy! Moved frequently! Room inside no better than a smart premier inn! But still has a smart feel to it. We ate in the restaurant - the meal was delicious, could not fault it! But what we could complain about was the absolute disgusting... Read more

Our first visit to this hotel was very enjoyable. The grounds are beautiful & we were fortunate to be given a lovely room overlooking them ( I think due to Honours membership). We had a really good deal for Dinner B & B,with the 3 course menu included. Food is excellent & served by friendly & efficient staff.-the breakfast buffet too. We will certainly come back here when next in Dunblane.

We've stayed here on several occasions and recently visited in May 2016. The room was clean and reasonably modern. There was a wedding on and the hotel was busy. Check in was fine but not offered cookies (despite others having them and previously receiving on past visits). The bar area is nice and we enjoyed sitting listening to the music from the wedding at night. Leisure facilities were decent but not luxurious. The breakfast was chaotic and we were taken to a seat and left with no expl... Read more

My Wife and I visited the hotel after receiving a gift from our daughters. The hotel is in a lovely setting, the staff are extremely helpful and the hotel spotless. We had a standard double room which was absolutely fine and comfortable. The spa was very nice and the lunch we had, which was sandwiches, was really lovely however the only downside of our stay was the drinks prices - WOW!!! - come Dunblane Hydro - get a grip on reality.

We booked this hotel based on location and the fact that it was a Doubletree. As we approached the hotel I was excited to stay in such a beautiful building. The lobby was gorgeous, the halls beautiful. Once we got in our room, however, we were disappointed. It was cramped and did not match the old world beauty of the public spaces. The ensuite bathroom was fine, however, good size in relation to the room. The rooms were not air-conditioned and while that was fine, the small window did not a... Read more

This is a large and sophisticated hotel with all the amenities. It is in a scenic location on a hill near Dunblane and within easy walking distance of the charming town of Dunblane and its sights, shops, restaurants and the train station. It is a great location for day trips to Stirling and the area. It has ample free parking. Due to its size it caters to large groups.

I booked a 2 night stay in Jan 2016. I booked a twin room and had this confirmed when booking. When checking in 24 hours before arrival, I noticed my room was a double not a twin. I phoned and raised the issue with a customer services representative and after a few times being put on hold, had my room switched to what I booked. I arrived at 4.20pm and check in was simple, quick and receptionist was efficient. My room was on 4th floor but very conveniently situated near the lift. A lovely r... Read more

We had a special dinner, B & B deal for one night, en route home from a holiday. Relaxing and well worth the money. Charming staff, a pleasant if rather cramped room (because of too much furniture rather than the room size) a delicious dinner and all in the beautiful grounds above the town. My only criticism would be with breakfast. Beautiful hotel, in a lovely setting. Ideal for business or pleasure! All the facilities you could need. A little warm in the rooms but that's just my personal preference. Fitness centre didn't open till 7am on a weekday which was a little annoying as if staying with work and have an 8.30am meeting it means its nearly impossible to use the gym before hand. However overall, I would highly recommend and stay again. Little touch of a warm cookie on arrival was cute too!

The main building has a fantastic setting. There are rooms at the back in a newer building, but our room was in the original part. The room had a great front view and was on the 4th floor. It was small and tight, but had a very generous bathroom. The room was adequate, but had a few issues - the TV system had no EPG or paper channel list, there was a large stain on the chair, and when I pulled down my bag from the top of the wardrobe (no other storage space), I was showered with dust. I have stayed at the Dunblane hydro a fair few times now and this stay was as enjoyable and relaxing as ever. Rooms are looking a bit old but were clean and tidy. Spa could do with a spruce up. We had a dinner bed and breakfast deal, which was great value for money and the food was delicious. Sea bass and duck leg confit were amazing! Dog friendly although £20 supplement added on departure.

Spent a night here a couple of weeks ago on a DBB deal. The setting is great and maybe this reflects on the price a bit. Lovely dinner but as usual the extra supplements on the menu make it much more than the original price. Overall a good package as it was a Sunday night deal.

We stayed two nights at the Dunblane Hydro. The setting is perfect and the building has immense character. Unfortunately the lobby, bar and restaurant have the atmosphere of a bus station. However, our room was very comfortable and everything worked - except the shower hose which is far too short. The bed was especially comfortable. The restaurant offered a wide range of options for breakfast and the cooked breakfast was tasty. I would like to congratulate the chef on the truly excellent q... Read more

Booked last minute through a booking website as a treat for the beginning of the school holidays. First impressions are fantastic as you approach up the drive. Closer inspection shows things look a bit tired especially the extension and the leisure club. Difficulties on check in ( wrong meal tariff on system and room not ready until after 4pm) unfortunately gave a poor first impression. I had read previous reviews and had thankfully booked the restaurant for our evening meal in advance. There is... Read more

We decided to stay a night at The Dunblane Hydro for our anniversary. The grounds and decor of the hotel are stunning! Check in was straightforward, no problems. we stayed two nights on a DBB rate. As a hh member i managed to select a room that seemed to look over the front of the hotel, and it did. One of the comfiest hotel beds I have ever stayed in, within a slightly smaller than average but high quality room. Breakfast is a huge rip off at £14 per person. Nice bar area to have a drink, and lovely spa facilities. Unfortunately the individual qualities of the hotel have been sucked away by the 'conference facilities' nature of the facility, and this filters into the atmosphere, decor, etc. Would stay again for business, but not for pleasure.
