Been once before so decided to go again as we were visiting NR Sheffield on the Monday. Upon arrival we were upgraded to an executive room which was near the lift so made getting about easier. The room was nice enough with a fridge included with 2 x bottles of Still Water & a bar of Dairy Milk. This time I was disappointed with the breakfast fare as the toaster was burning toast from the off. Had to wait ages for fried eggs to be replaced and the bacon was not crisp enough. Stayed here for New Year's Eve 2015. Staff looked after us very well and professionally. Excellent late breakfast up to 12 noon on 1 January. Close to the A1(M) and very easy to find. Plenty of car parking. Didn't use the leisure club but it looks good and the pool was well used.

Had a quiet mid-week stay to allow us to attend a funeral. We asked for twin beds in the newer part of the hotel and were very happy there. We ate in the restaurant (fish and chips) which was nice. Breakfast was what you would expect but they also made good porridge. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were lovely, friendly, apparently very happy and polite and helpful. We loved it and will go back (on a better occasion).

We stayed in this hotel last weekend as we were visiting family in the area. From start to finish we both really enjoyed the hotel and I can say its staff all were very friendly. We arrived Friday afternoon and we had a swim in the pool then few drinks and a snack in the bar before heading out. On the Saturday morning the breakfast was really nice and afterwards we had another dip in the pool before heading out. Our room in the main building, well it turned out to be very dusty. Hand smears around the door frames and various other fittings, was it blood or someone had used their hands to wipe their bottoms. Very dated room. Expected more of a hotel of this ranking. After requesting another room, things improved. Make sure you stay in the annex. No lift in the main building. Stayed for 3 nights a few months back. Staff were welcoming and lovely. The evening meal in the restaurant was gorgeous. I had a salad with feta cheese and my partner had the mixed grill, both of which were washed down with a lovely bottle of wine. Room service was also a nice addition, with light bites being served until late evening. Thoroughly enjoyed my staff and would reurn.

For the price you can get so much more from many budget hotels. The only good thing was the friendly helpful staff. Dinnertime service staff in the restaurant were good and generally everyone was friendly but frankly the food overall and especially the restaurant food was poor. The breakfast was below average. However, the food really let it down. My wife's food was reasonable in terms of the range of vegetables but nothing special but my chicken was dry with semi raw cabbage and a sauce po... Read more

I've stayed at this holiday Inn three times now and will stay again. The main reason is its proximity to the A1 (M) whilst still being very quiet. The rooms are big enough and very comfortable. The tv is modern and the WiFi is free. The restaurant is nice and the food excellent. But the bar prices are very high. £5 for a bottle of bitter is too much. Drinks are pricey but I'm learning that that's just the trend at weddings these days. Food is very expensive for very little, while I was still eating a staff member came and took my partners plate which I think is rude and should wait for us both to finish, they did this with the breakfast too. The hotel reception and restaurant are quite modern however my room would probably benefit from a facelift - that said it was very clean and comfortable.
