The hotel is in a great location to the city, just a short walk away from bars / restaurants. Property is clean and the staff were all very welcoming, nice views of the river, would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for a weekend trip to Derby. Called ahead of arrival at 11.30 am to see if we were able to check in and our room was ready so we could. We had booked an executive room and it was absolutely lovely, really generously sized and all the extras that make a stay that bit more special. The young man on reception was delightful, we think his name was Keiran and would like to thank him for his help. The breakfast staff were so lovely and friendly and the breakfast had a huge selection, so... Read more

Stayed here at the weekend in an Executive Suite, the room was fabulous, so clean and well equipped. Had an amazing nights sleep. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful, everything you could possibly want and more....The staff were amazing, always smiling and happy and nothing was too much trouble for them. Special thanks to Bessie on reception who pulled out all stops to make sure our stay was amazing, thank you.

Overall a nice hotel, however it is let down by a couple of things. Firstly the reception area is definitely not up to standard, its more like a Holiday Inn Express at best! Secondly, the car park is a fair distance from the hotel and I know it's not the hotels responsibility but is very dirty and old fashioned, finally we were asked if we wanted a paper in the morning which we did - but it never arrived!

We are a party of 4 couples that stayed for the weekend, Friday to Sunday. We were made to feel very welcome from the minute we arrived. Dave on reception deserves a special mention, he was very cheerful and very helpful, Nothing was too much trouble. The bar and restaurant staff were good also. We had a meal Friday evening and were the only ones dining in the restaurant. The food was good, I had the prawns, followed by salmon and finished of with chocolate brownie. A few of the group had the ch... Read more

We stayed at this hotel for a night whilst on a trip to Alton Towers for 2 days, and picked this hotel for it's location in Derby, which would give us a city experience and stuff to do of an evening. Good location, right next door to a Westfield shopping centre and parking isn't too expensive either (i think the hotel gives a discounted rate in the nearby public car park). It's not far from Alton Towers either, at most 40 minutes. The room was good, very spacious, modern and comfortable!

For an evening in Derby, I booked this hotel as we had such a great stay here a few years ago. However I was disappointed in our room stay this time round. The staff were friendly (though there was an apparently ex-employee hanging around chatting to the receptionist, who was saying a few inappropriate things, but it didn't really bother us, just seemed a little unprofessional). We checked into our room which had a strong fishy smell, so we asked to change rooms and the receptionist was really ... Read more

I often stay in Holiday Inn's with work and know what to expect so my partner and I decided to book a night here when on a weekend away. The greeting was everything I would expect but the room far exceeded my expectations. It was large, clean, and had all the facilities we needed. The bathroom was spotless and looked newly fitted which went down well. I was also impressed at how comfy the bed was- more so than I have remembered in any other hotel i have stayed in. In the morning we noticed ... Read more

This hotel is located above a casino with a "Late Bar" with a license for music. Our room (#244) was directly above the casino which was playing very loud music (possibly a live band) and stopping us, sleeping. Hotel staff were apologetic but could not help. This is NOT on the hotel website and there was no way to know until we arrived.

People slate the big hotel chains. After being treated terribly by the cathedral quarter hotel in the city we used this hotel as a last minute booking. The staff were helpful on arrival and told us about their loyalty scheme which got us a discount on the hotel! I always try and support local businesses but on this occasion the chain came up trumps

Over the past 3 years my husband and I have stayed in 5 different Premier Inns, and this has surpassed the others by far. The customer service has been exemplary - incredibly polite, friendly and efficient. The meals we've had in the Thyme restaurant have been absolutely delicious and the kitchen staff are lovely. Special mention to chef Andy and hostesses Indre and Adina, who were all fantastic and really improved our stay. As always with Premier Inn the rooms have been basic but perfect for a ... Read more

We visited the hotel for a Friday night stay over and overall the hotel was excellent, it was clean the room was set out lovely and the staff where excellent but during the night it was very noisy, we mentioned this when we booked out and was not given an explanation but was offered a reimbursement. Would not stay there again due to the noise but premier Inn as a whole are a fantastic setup.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Derby. To get from the railway station to the hotel, it is a short taxi drive away, costing us just £4.10. It is however almost next door to the bus station if you're travelling by bus. The check in was swift and our room was fine, with tea/coffee making facilities, a fridge and complimentary toiletries. There is also a safe in the room, but unfortunately, ours had been dismantled, presumably by the previous occupants. It wasn't a major problem to us, bu... Read more

We stayed one night at this hotel. The only gripe I can come up with is that the hotel car parking is in a public multi-storey which you access via a public inner-city bus station (and the hotel charges £8 extra for the privilege). However that is a minor gripe - a gripelet, if you will. Other than this I have little but praise. The desk staff were welcoming and efficient, and did not blink an eye when we told them that we would only need one of the two rooms we'd booked (daughterly lack of or... Read more

Checked in quickly and smoothly. Reception is very friendly and helpful. Good location is in the heart of city centre, very convenient for shopping and eating out. Hotel room is very modern, the mini gym is excellent with all everything you need! The one down side is the parking facility that we had to park in the INTU shopping centre and paid a charge of £8 for over night stay. Overall, very happy with our stay and probably will be back again if we ever visit Derby.

During my 2 night business stay at this hotel I had an unpleasant stay where there was a lot of noises coming from the neighboring rooms at the late night hours, unfortunately the team members at the hotel handled my complain very poorly. It would have been 5 star if anyone from the team members bothered to make my business stay more comfortable.

We stayed here only one night, due to the fact we wanted to bring our dog and our usual place does not accept our four legged creatures. I have to say it was great, the room was huge!!! It is centrally located and the staff were friendly. The only downside was the Campari was so far away and as we had a lots of luggage it was a bit of a pain, but otherwise it was a good stay. Definitely recommend.

Rooms are big and clean. Reception staff are helpful and friendly - especially David who was always eager to help. Well located in the city centre and within 5-10 min walking distance of many restaurants and shops. As other reviewers have commented, the car park is across the road in the Intu shopping centre which is not very convenient. Still, I liked the fact parking was under cover in a secure car park. I would happily stay here again!

This hotel is very well located. Staff are very professional and friendly. Rooms are spotless, very high standard. The only downside is that I am not a big fan of the parking arrangements as I am not keen on leaving my car in a multi story car park overnight when staying. The car park is right next door and seems quite safe, I never had a problem but I'm still not that keen. Guess this is the downside of a very central hotel and they have negotiated good parking rates.

We thought that parking was on site (should have read the reviews on here first), so we arrived to find that there were several taxis parked in front, so had to 'park' on the pavement whilst my husband found out where to put the car. As others have said, it is relatively close (the other side of the bus station) and you pay half of the advertised rate. Once parked and in, everything else was good. We only had breakfast here, but this was very good. Staff friendly and helpful.
